Part 1 of 2
AZ: Hiking SP Crater, northeast of Flagstaff
Short, but steep, hike up S.P. Crater, northeast of Flagstaff, AZ between Wupatki National Monument and Gray Mountain. S P Crater's volcanic cinders are quite slippery, so the ascent is two steps forward, one back. On the descent, I basically skied down the slope. (SP Crater is a government approved abbreviation of the name originally given it by a rancher: S**t Pot Crater, because the volcanic crater's lava flow looks like an over-turned chamber pot.)

Sandys Canyon hike to Fisher Point, Flagstaff, AZ
Hiking Sandys Canyon in Flagstaff, AZ out to Fisher Point. From there we ventured into Walnut Canyon a bit and found a cool cave to explore.
The trail itself if fairly easy, from Sandys Canyon trailhead to Fisher Point is just under 2.5 miles. From there we went another 1/4 mile into Walnut Canyon to find the cave.
Its a great hike with many other options, some that tie into the Arizona Trail, you can't go wrong.

Sunset Crater Volcano, Arizona 1, United States 1999
Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, Flagstaff, Arizona, United States.
Sunset Crater is a cinder cone located north of Flagstaff in U.S. State of Arizona. The crater is within the Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument.
Sunset Crater is the youngest in a string of volcanoes (the San Francisco volcanic field) that is related to the nearby San Francisco Peaks.
The date of the eruptions that formed the 340-meter-high cone (1,120 ft) was initially derived from tree-ring dates, suggesting the eruption began between the growing seasons of A.D. 1064–1065. However, more recent geologic and archaeological evidence places the eruption around A.D. 1085. The largest vent of the eruption, Sunset Crater itself, was the source of the Bonito and Kana-a lava flows that extended about 2.5 kilometers (1.6 mi) NW and 9.6 kilometers (6 mi) NE, respectively. Additional vents along a 10-kilometer-long fissure (6.2 mi) extending SE produced small spatter ramparts and a 6.4-kilometer-long lava flow (4 mi) to the east. The Sunset Crater eruption produced a blanket of ash and lapilli covering an area of more than 2,100 square kilometers (810 sq mi) and forced the temporary abandonment of settlements of the local Sinagua people. The volcano has partially revegetated, with pines and wildflowers. The crater is the namesake for the Sunset Crater Beardtongue (Penstemon clutei). Since the last eruption of the volcano is a recent occurrence, it is considered dormant by volcanologists.
Damage from hikers forced the National Park Service to close a trail leading to the crater, but a short trail at the base remains.
The hiking trail below the summit skirts the substantial Bonito Lava Flow. This hardened lava is black and appears fresh as it has devastated the forest in its path. The lava flow also created an ice cave or tube that is now closed to the public after a partial collapse

WE TRAVEL TO FIND THE HISTORY AND THE MYSTERY , That is the Apache Death Cave in Legendary 2 guns Arizona . Follow us as we track the legends and the ghosts that are known as the APACHE DEATH CAVE . STFU AND GET IN THE TRUCK !
In 1922, Earle and Louise Cundiff purchased 320 acres of land from Randolph at this location for $1,000, and built a store, restaurant, and gasoline pumps.
Harry E. Miller leased a property from the Cundiffs in 1925 and began extensive construction. Calling himself Chief Crazy Thunder, Miller wanted to capitalize on the beauty of Canyon Diablo and the flow of passing tourists Along the canyon rim Miller erected a zoo with cages made of brick, mortar and chicken wire; his zoo animals included mountain lions, cougars, gila monsters, coral snakes, birds and a lynx. A restaurant and Indian gift shop were opened, and Miller cleaned out the death cave, selling any Apache skulls found inside as souvenirs.] For a fee, visitors were led on a tour which began at a Hopi house Miller had built, where rolls of colored piki bread was made and sold. They then followed a paved path down the side of the canyon to a soft drink stand at the bottom. Next was a tour of the death cave, where Miller had installed electric lights, and fake ruins of cliff dwellers.[11] Flamboyant signs were placed along the highway, and Miller named his establishment Fort Two Guns as an homage to silent movie actor William S. Two Guns Hart, with whom Miller claimed to have previously worked
The Cundiffs applied for a post office under the name Two Guns in 1924, but it was refused. The post office was renamed Canyon Lodge
In 1926, the highway designation was changed to U.S. Route 66.shot the unarmed Cundiff to death. He was later acquitted of the killing
The interior of Miller's store burned in 1929, and soon after, Louise Cundiff built her own tourist store. The following year, Miller left the state. Cundiff remarried, and in 1934 opened the Two Guns Texaco service station along a new alignment of Route 66. Behind it they relocated the zoo (which closed prior to 1950).
In 1938, a new bridge across Canyon Diablo was built, and Route 66 began following Interstate 40 at the Two Guns location.
A more modern service station was built at Two Guns in 1963, and in the late 1960s a motel, western tavern, reptile exhibit, and new zoo were added. Later, a Shell service station was built and a KOA campground opened.

A Volcano In Arizona?
VOLCANO OR METEOR CRATER?
Is there really a volcano in the Sonora Desert just west of Phoenix, Arizona?
A youtube user that subscribes to the ArizonaPublic youtube channel requested that I drive on over and take a look. The user who wishes to remain anonymous mentioned that he was very fascinated with google earth land features here in the Arizona desert and pointed out a location that looks just like a volcano or a meteor crater. I have to admit, This land feature sparked my curiosity as well so I agreed to go investigate.
