Allertor 125 siren test in Eden Prairie, MN
This siren is located at an intersection and is also very, very close to some houses. I would not like to live here. Of all of the sirens I've seen, some of them are ridiculously close to houses and it drives me crazy because of the fact that the people who happen to be living in the houses have to hear this every first Wednesday at 1:00.

Wayzata celebrates first hockey championship
Familiar rivals played for a championship Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center as Lake Conference foes Wayzata and Eden Prairie faced off.
The game was tied 1-1 after one period before Eden Prairie scored twice to open up a 3-1 lead in the second. Wayzata came back strong, with goals from Billy Duma and Matt Nelson, to tie it up again 3-3 heading into the third period.
Defenseman Logan Lindstrand threaded a shot from the point through traffic to give Wayzata the lead back, and they held on for a 5-3 victory.

Eden Prairie school district employees agree to wage freeze
Sun-Current Today TV News Thursday, Sept. 24
The Eden Prairie school district has concluded negotiations with representatives of faculty and staff bargaining groups, with 11 of 12 groups agreeing to freeze their wages for at least the next year. Eight of those groups agreed to the deal two weeks ago.
The district announced Tuesday that three more groups representing the districts transportation, food service and maintenance staffs have also agreed to wage freezes. Those employees join teachers, principals, administrators and executives, who agreed to the concessions two weeks ago.
The food service employees entered negotiations expecting wages to be frozen, said Carla Farr, who negotiated on behalf of the group.
About 1,400 employees in the district, roughly 82 percent, are affected by the wage freezes, which are retroactive to July. Superintendent Melissa Krull said the move would reduce the districts $10 million budget shortfall by roughly $3 million over two years.
The wage freeze applies to base salaries only. Teachers will still receive increases for continuing their education, and wage increases tied to years of service are not affected.
The only group that didnt agree to renegotiate was the districts paraprofessionals, whose contracts are already settled and dont include raises until 2010.
