The Ojai Vineyard began in 1983 with the dream of producing distinctive California wines using traditional wine making practices learned in Burgundy and the Rhone valley. Three decades later Adam Tolmach continues to pursue the craft at his artisanal winery in Ojai, California, purchasing grapes from the finest terroirs in the coolest districts of northern Santa Barbara County. His quest to bring together European sensibilities of balance and finesse with the exuberant fruit from coastal California vineyards is expressed in the wines he makes today.ojaivineyard.com

Ventura lies along U.S. Route 101 between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, which was one of the original U.S. Routes. The highway is now known as the Ventura Freeway, but the original route through the town along Main Street has been designated El Camino Real, the historic pathway connecting the California missions. During the post–World War II economic expansion, the community grew easterly, building detached single family homes over the rich agricultural land created by the Santa Clara River. The population was 106,433 at the 2010 census, up from 100,916 at the 2000 census. Ventura is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. As of the census of 2000, there were 100,916 people, 38,524 households, and 25,233 families residing in the city. The population density was 4,790.6 inhabitants per square mile (1,849.3/km²). There were 39,803 housing units at an average density of 1,889.5 per square mile (729.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 78.8% White, 1.4% African American, 1.2% Native American, 3.0% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 11.1% from other races, and 4.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 30.4% of the population. Land Grab Family Farm Sequim
Washington State takes half of Historic #Sequim farm, no just compensation #5thAmendment, attempts to take water right only later to pollute it!
Video correction..I meant to say historical reports, I also misstated the term costs to improve by saying Pre-improvement. I am a son of one of the Spath estate heirs. My beautiful Aunt Marcelle served Sequim as Home EC teacher for 30+ years and she loved this farm. To her it was Sequim's best kept secret Hidden Valley. She loved also the Lord and hoped family members would live on it and believe is the reason He gave it to me. I am a Real estate broker with 30+ years experience between San Diego CA and WA. I acquired the farm from the families estate in 2013 through conventional financing and personal loans. I retain the Water, Mineral, Fossil and foreign matter rights. Any proceeds from any pending future legal action will be distributed equally between the remaining Spath estate heirs, less the cost to restore the barns (current bids $250,000). I thank them for letting me have this opportunity to live here!! As a Broker, the finances of the purchase made great sense and was probably the only reason my wife Tara was willing to leave our gorgeous lifestyle in San Diego at the time (not a farm girl). The story changed when I got here as I started to see Gods hand prints all over this place, Double terminating rainbows are a regular scene within the boundaries of the farm. Love them !!. Unfortunately the city did me few favors in the development process (it took over a year to get an already approved plan from 2007 re-approved with all current codes addressed plus tens of thousands in redundant reports). Relating Sequim's rich history as it pertains to this property and how special this place is, there are few better in the world so we went all in (bless my wife) to buy the entire farm even though it was a stretch for us. I had no idea how much it would take to clean and repair its current structures and systems. #GreenAcres? To bring awareness to the citizens of the US that this can happen to you...The city declined our request for interview to be recorded. The Jamestown S'klallam Tribe failed to return inquiry regarding water quality. Tribe later negotiates with city to go outside its legal boundary to double capacity. I want the City water treatment facility to immediately stop discharging human waste water into my Historic pre-Certificate water right. From what I understand they have already been forced by legal action to extend their discharge pipe deeper into the sound (why?). I also want them to restore the property to its original condition (with the exception of an easement along Bell Creek) and ownership as it was apart of the original 120 acres with all remaining water, mineral, fossil and foreign matter rights in tact with the exception to Native artifacts which remain within the tribal rights. For the State to pay restitution in the form of cash to the Spath Estate heirs for the wrongful taking of the family property and damages created by the very association of pollution to a historic water right and farm for damages caused by the spraying of weed killer with the same active ingredient as RoundUP in addition to the damages caused by the poison hemlock that they imported during the rehabilitation of Bell creek (and is still there to this day) in which made me to loose two calves and our Lamma Missy. The bluff, the State of Washington took through eminent domain was the desirable Southern Exposure, had the Artisien spring, the pond and two additional wells not shown on As-built not to mention the creek frontage which is more than 1400 feet. They dredged many thousands of feet of ditches, why? I want the city to formally recognize the old Spath Farm The Farm Sequim and its historical contribution to the city's rich farming heritage publicly to recognize the significant water rights of the property from its 3000+ feet of Highland Irrigation open ditch plus 6 hard line at 185+ psi, 4 wells. I will gladly offer to maintain a 200 setback to protect the creek and preserve the privacy now enjoyed by the phase B owners Northern boundary. I want the city of Sequim to build the road from Broadmoor to W Sequim Bay with utilities as detailed as a condition of future phases C,D,E,F and I will dedicate it to them. Then both the city and the owners of phase A can have their second point of access (a battle I am still suffering the consequences of). I want them to restore partial mix use zoning to provide for a farm/vineyard store/restaurant and public events on our upper lots and allow for the Barn to operate as a venue for weddings, events and a restaurant. The former city planner took it on as his personal mission to down zone our upper lots. love philanthropists that dedicate time or property to the North Olympic Land trust, or other community group/charity but Its a different when someone takes it from you.

To Kings Canyon: Detour: Trimmer Springs, Piedra, Elwood Drivelapse
Because Highway 180 was shut down, I had to come up with a detour to get to Kings Canyon National Park from Fresno. The solution? take a series of roads, which eventually led me through the Sierra Nevada foothills along Trimmer Springs Road and Elwood Road, north of Highway 180. Eventually, I rejoined 180 for the rest of the trip into KCNP
