Tan Ky House in Hoi An
A visit to the Old House of Tan Ky in Hoi An, Vietnam
January 2015

Ancient Buildings in Hoi An - Vietnam 4K Travel Channel
To visit the old town, as well as the historical buildings in Hoi An, every visitor needs to buy a ticket. The ticket costs 120,000 VND, about 6 USD. A large part of the revenue is for the preservation of the UNESCO world cultural heritage and is used for the restoration work.
Included in the ticket price are vouchers for visiting 5 of the 18 sightseeing places. They are devalued at the respective input.
While staying at Hoi An, you should keep your ticket even after visiting the 5 sites of interest. It might be checked in the Ancient Town. But this never happened to us.
We chose the following sightseeing places:
Hoi An Artcraft Manufacturing Workshop
Hoi Quan Phuoc Kien - Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation
Toc Tran - Tran Family Chapel
Duc An House
Tan KY House
After the sightseeing we go to one of the food stalls along the river.
In the front part of the house The artists of the Hoi An Traditional Art Performance House, perform traditional Vietnamese dances twice a day. We show the performances in a separate video.
In the courtyard and on the first floor you can watch the production of lanterns and other souvenirs.
On the way to the next highlight, we pay a visit to the market hall. Many people make use of the excellent offer and come to have breakfast or lunch here.
Hoi Quan Phuoc Kien is the magnificent assembly hall of the Chinese Fukien community. It is the largest and most beautiful of the five still existing assembly halls in Hoi An. It was built around 1690 by Chinese traders from the province of Fujian, in the southeast of China.

Hoi An Artcraft Manufacturing Workshop
Hoi Quan Phuoc Kien- Versammlungshalle der Chinesen aus Fujian
Toc Tran, Tran Family Chapel (Kapelle der Familie Tran)
Duc An Haus
Tan KY Haus

A beautiful house in Hoi An
At the time of this video, we had been in Hoi An for two months and life in our apartment was good. We were happy there. Then I saw the most beautiful apartment advertised for rent. We went and had a look with no real intention of moving house, but I fell in love. We were the first to view it, and decided on the spot to take it.

Cách Người Hội An chống chọi với mùa lũ qua tham quan NHÀ CỔ TẤN KÝ | HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN VIETNAM
Hello everyone, this video I will introduce everyone to Tan Ky ancient house, currently located at 101 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Minh An Ward, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province. This is the home of a Chinese-Vietnamese businessman who built from the 18th century with a beautiful Asian architecture combining 3 Vietnamese and Japanese cultures, this place is also one of the monuments marked the golden age of Hoi An international trading port 300 years ago.
***********

Tour of 300 Year Old Hoi An House-House of Quan Thang
I took a tour of one of the oldest (about 3 centuries) and best preserved houses in Hoi An, Vietnam-the Old House of Quan Thang. The host is a sixth generation family member. I got to see two women making dumplings by hand.

Top10 Best Things to Do in Hoi An / Hoi An Best Attractions/ Foods
Hoi An is one of the best places in Vietnam to experience the country’s rich history.
Here are 10 Things/ Atractions to see and do in Hoi An:
1. Tan Ky House (Nhà Cổ Tấn Ký)
The home is more than 200 years old. The home is architecturally interesting, and on a visit you can admire details like the pulleys that raise furniture to avoid flooding or the stunning carved wooden balcony.
2. Cantonese Assembly Hall - Hội quán Quảng Đông
Also known as the Quang Trieu, the assembly hall sits right next to the Cau Pagoda. You can admire the structure as well as the decor, which includes a striking dragon made from pottery.
3.Fujian Assembly Hall - Hội quán Phúc Kiến
Phuc Kien is a religious site to honor the deity Thien Hau. You can be able to spot the colorful fountains in the courtyard, the ornate gates surrounding the property and the beautifully carved dragons in the main room.
4. The Japanese Covered Bridge - Cầu Nhật Bản
The bridge was built in the 17th century. This allowed the Japanese quarter of Hoi An to be accessible from the Chinese neighborhoods.
5. Hoi An Old Town (Phố Cổ Hội An)
It is small and peaceful enough for tourists to walk around on food
The traffic is not as heavy as in the bigger cities.
6. Hoi An Tailors
Hoi An is filled with tailors, a tradition resulting from its past as a trading port on the silk route.
7. Hoi An Central Market (Chợ Hội An)
If you’re a foodie, then there is perhaps no better destination in the city than Central Market. It serves a huge variety of food at extremely cheap prices, including Vietnamese favorite: Cao Lau
8. Hoi An Night Market, Go for a stroll to the Lantern Market
The market opens around five each evening, sells everything from souvenirs to clothing to fresh food. Perhaps the most-spotted item for sale is the paper lantern, which glows beautifully after nightfall.
