Pak Yu and I took the Metro down to tour the Old Post Office Pavilion in Washington, DC. The building is amazing - inside and out. The old clock tower features an incredible panoramic view of DC.
The Old Post Office Pavilion, also known as Old Post Office and Clock Tower and officially renamed the Nancy Hanks Center in 1983, is a building of the United States federal government. Built in 1892-99, it is located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue (the intersection of 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue), NW, in Washington, D.C. Its rustication, strong semi-circular arches, squat clustered columns united by a foliate Sullivanesque capital-frieze, make it the last major example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture to be constructed in the District of Columbia. Its 315 ft (96 m)-high clocktower makes the building the largest commercial building and the third tallest structure in Washington, D.C. Scarcely used as a post office, it has been rehabilitated today into office and retail space shared by the federal government and private businesses. The expansive interior atrium is now home to shops, federal offices, entertainment space and a food court.
As of 2012, it has been declared surplus by the government and is set to be completely rebuilt as Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C.
National Park Service rangers from Pennsylvania Avenue National Historic Site provide tours of the Old Post Office Tower affording one of the most spectacular views of Washington from its 270-foot (82 m)-high observation deck. The tower includes an exhibit room depicting the building's long struggle for survival. Visitors can also view the Bells of Congress, replicas of those at Westminster Abbey and given by the Ditchley Foundation to the United States in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the end of the Revolutionary War. The Washington Ringing Society sounds The Bells of Congress every Thursday evening and on special occasions. The official bells of the United States Congress, they are one of the largest sets of change ringing bells in North America.
Free tours of The Old Post Office Pavilion Clock Tower are offered daily. More information is available by calling (202) 606-8691.

Trump International Hotel, Washington DC, United States
Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C. will open in September 2016 dramatically ahead of schedule. With its opening, the Nation's Capital will now be home to an iconic and historic super-luxury hotel rivaling the best of other international capital cities. Located a few blocks from the White House, Trump International Hotel will occupy the Old Post Office Pavilion
Its signature room is the two-bedroom Trump Townhouse, which will be the largest suite in the capital. Hotel will also include the 13,200 square foot Presidential. Ballroom, restaurants, bars, a spa and fitness centre. For decades people have looked in wonderment at the magnificence of the Old Post Office building and structure. There is nothing like it and we are so proud to have not only brought this incredible building back to life, but also to a position far greater than it ever was at its previous zenith. It was an honor to have dealt with the professionals at the General Services Administration. It was their total passion and hard work that helped bring this unrivaled project to fruition, says Donald J. Trump. It has been an incredible journey transforming the Old Post Office into what will be the finest luxury hotel in the country—if not the world. We have worked tirelessly to meticulously restore one of the United States' most high profile landmarks and are incredibly proud to unveil the results of our efforts this September, says Ivanka Trump. Under our agreement with the U.S. government's General Services Administration (GSA), the hotel was scheduled to be completed by August of 2018, but through our team's hard work and close collaboration with the GSA, we will now be opening almost two years ahead of schedule, which is unheard of for a project of this size and complexity. In addition to the incredible professionals at the GSA, we are thankful for the tremendous support given to the project by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Mayor Muriel Bowser, Chief of Police Cathy Lanier and the numerous other civic, federal and city officials who have supported and contributed to the project including the National Capital Planning Commission, D.C. Historic Preservation Office, Commission of Fine Arts and the National Park Service. After the more than a decade of work it took to get our bill authorizing this project out of the Congress, I am the first to appreciate that D.C. residents and visitors will be happy to begin enjoying this historic landmark ahead of schedule, and that both the federal and D.C. governments will begin receiving revenue from this high-value site in 2016 instead of 2018, said Congresswoman Norton. With its prestigious location right on Pennsylvania Avenue, the U.S. Government has entrusted the Trump Organization with the complex challenge of transforming this 19th century one-of-a-kind building into one of the greatest luxury hotels in the world. Painstakingly restoring the intricate stonework, original wood milling and paneling while installing the latest in technology and luxurious comforts expected by today's sophisticated and discerning travelers, the hotel will introduce to the market 263 exquisitely detailed and spacious guest rooms and suites. The thirty-five suites include the Trump Townhouse with its private entrance on Pennsylvania Avenue. At 6,300 square feet of interior space, it will be the largest and most luxurious suite in Washington, D.C. and among the largest in the country. Recognizing the need for a luxury ballroom spacious enough to host larger International meetings and opulent enough for prominent city galas, the Trump Organization designed a complementing addition to the main building. With a private entrance, the 13,200 square foot, column-free Presidential Ballroom will be the largest luxury ballroom in Washington, D.C. and has already been enthusiastically received by wedding and event planners, major associations, and corporations. This is my fifth hotel opening and I can say with conviction that I have never seen so much interest and so many early bookings as I have at Trump D.C.; we already have a significant number of events confirmed for 2016 and beyond with many more inquiries being considered, said Mickael Damelincourt, Managing Director of Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C. We are preparing for what is a highly anticipated opening, and one that is unique to Washington, D.C. and the country as a whole.

Donald Trump says his new hotel in the Old Post Office building on Pennsylvania Ave. in downtown Was
Donald Trump says his new hotel in the Old Post Office building in downtown Washington will be one of the fine ... and maybe the finest hotels in the world.
Trump joined federal and local leaders on Wednesday morning for a ceremonial groundbreaking at the 115-year-old building.
He hopes its $200 million transformation into a Trump International Hotel will be complete by late 2016.
The Old Post Office is on Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and the Capitol. Its 315-foot observation tower is the third-tallest structure in the District of Columbia.
Trump did not say whether building a hotel near the White House would rekindle his presidential ambitions, but he did say it shows he can create jobs and get things done, which is what the country needs.

OEOB, EEOB, Washington DC - REAL USA Special
Less famous than the White House next door, the EEOB, or OEOB as I usually refer to it, has some delightful and yet gaudy architecture. The Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB), formerly known as the Old Executive Office Building (OEOB), houses much of the President's staff, and the office of the Vice President.
