Sejarah Lawang Sewu Semarang - Indonesia travel destinations
Lawang Sewu (Thousand Doors) is a landmark in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, built as the headquarters of the Dutch East Indies Railway Company. The colonial era building is famous as a haunted house, though the Semarang city government has attempted to rebrand it.
The name Lawang Sewu is from Javanese; it means Thousand Doors. The name comes from its design, with numerous doors and arcs. The building has about 600 large windows. The complex consists of several buildings, two main ones named A and B and two smaller ones named C and D, on Pemuda Street. The l-shaped A building faces the Tugu Muda roundabout. There are two identical towers on A building, which were originally used to store water, each with a capacity of 7,000 litres (1,800 US gal). The building features large stained-glass windows and a grand staircase in the center. There was also once an underground tunnel connecting A building to several other sites in the city, including the governor's mansion and the harbour.
Construction began in 1904 with A building, which was completed in 1907. The rest of the complex was finished in 1919.

MENGAPA PROPERTY SYARIAH?
Beberapa tahun terakhir ini hampir di seluruh dunia sangat marak bisnis yang berbau syariah, seperti hotel Halal, Fashion Syar’ie, Wisata Halal, hingga property syari’ah. Tak terkecuali di Indonesia pun marak kegiatan bisnis yang mengarah kepada sistem syari’ah. Hal ini perlu kita sukuri karena kesadaran masyarakat meningkat tentang pentingnya keberkahan pada sebuah bisnis dan kehidupan.
Demikian pula pada kebutuhan property, masyarakat sekarang ini cenderung memilih property syariah karena dianggap lebih mudah, murah dan aman. Apa sebenarnya perbedaan antara membeli property syariah dan KPR ke bank?
Berikut adalah penjelasannya secara mudah:
1. Property syariah lebih menghadirkan keberkahan dalam rumah tangga. Terhindar dari akad-akad bathil dan terhindar dari dosa riba ( dosa paling ringan riba adalah seperti seorang anak laki-laki berzina dengan ibu kandungnya ( HR. Al Hakim ))
2. Property syari’ah jauh lebih murah dibandingkan konvensional. Perhatikan perhitungan konvensional berikut ini :
Harga Rp.600.000.000 di angsur 10 tahun dengan DP 30% anda harus mengeluarkan Rp.180.000.000 + Rp.18.500.000 (biaya bank dan notaris). Hutang/pinjaman setelah dikurangi DP adalah Rp.420.000.000. Dengan suku bunga 10%, angsuran Rp.7.000.000/bln selama 120 bulan, anda harus membayar Rp.840.000.000.
Artinya apa? Untuk membeli rumah seharga Rp.600.000.000 Anda HARUS mengeluarkan TOTAL uang Rp. 1.038.500.000. (Rp.198.500.000 + Rp.840.000.000 )
Nah bandingkan jika Anda membeli Property syariah? Anda hanya perlu membayar harga rumah nya saja dan biaya niotaris. Dari contoh perhitungan diatas, anda berhasil menyelamatkan uang sebesar Rp.438.500.000. jadi kenyataannya anda membayar lebih 100% dari hutang anda.. sampai disini jelas ya?
Normalnya, siapapun tidak mau melakukan hal tersebut jika mengerti cara perhitungannya. Property syari’ah adalah solusi masa depan bagi seluruh ummat. Sangat simple, murah, tanpa ribet, tanpa mikir angsuran panjang, tanpa membebani hidup dan keluarga.
Jangan sampai salah pilih. Pilih property syari’ah yang bener-bener syar’ie. Karena belakangan ini banyak yang mengaku-ngaku property syariah, yang penting asal label syariah utk merebut pasar, tapi prakteknya? Jauh dari “syari’ah” itu sendiri.

Collaborate with IMWU, we are making a documentary video project about Indonesian undocumented migrant workers in Holland. The goal is to give an insight of how the migration happen, started from the more simple in Indonesia to the complexity of the issue, also to portray the reality life of the ups and downs of tropical people living in four seasons country.
Through the process we dig information from any groups, academics, activists, politicians, artists, historians, Indonesian government and other related groups to find answers of this dilemmatic migrant issue and to analyze what is the urgency today.
To be able to see the real situation and to build trust, we stay at undocumented migrant house in different places for four weeks. We record their daily life, feel their worries and sacrifice, see their invisible life, adaptation, self-changes, unmatched dreams and learn their collective struggle to voice their rights in the Netherlands.
For us this project feels like opening a pandora box, it could touch the deepest humanity in relation of criminal agents, migration threats, human trafficking, historical ties and the other version of the dark side of colonization. This documentary is positioned as an intervention in building dialogs, bridging differences and increasing awareness.
Moreover, the undocumented migrant workers from Indonesia are not only in the Netherlands, they spread across the world.

Bank Indonesia Museum (Indonesian Museum Bank Indonesia) is a bank museum located in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was founded by Bank Indonesia and opened on 21 July 2009. The museum is housed in a heritage building in Jakarta Old Town that had been the first headquarters of the Netherlands Indies gulden (De Javasche bank), the central bank of the Dutch East Indies. The bank was nationalized as Bank Indonesia in 1953, after Indonesia gained its independence. It is located next to Bank Mandiri Museum.
Museum Fatahillah
The Jakarta History Museum (Indonesian: Museum Sejarah Jakarta), also known as Fatahillah Museum or Batavia Museum, is located in the Old Town (known as Kota Tua) of Jakarta, Indonesia. The building was built in 1710 as the Stadhuis (city hall) of Batavia. Jakarta History Museum opened in 1974 and displays objects from the prehistory period of the city region, the founding of Jayakarta in 1527, and the Dutch colonization period from the 16th century until Indonesia’s Independence in 1945.
The museum is located in south side of Fatahillah Square (former Batavia city square) near Wayang Museum and Fine Art and Ceramic Museum. The building is believed to be modeled after Dam Palace.

The Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics (Indonesian: Museum Seni Rupa dan Keramik) is a museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. The museum is dedicated especially to the display of traditional fine art and ceramics of Indonesia. The museum is located in east side of Fatahillah Square, near Jakarta History Museum and Wayang Museum.

The Wayang Museum (Indonesian: Museum Wayang) is a museum dedicated to Javan wayang puppetry. The museum is located in Kota Tua, Jakarta, Indonesia. It is one of several museums and galleries facing the Fatahillah Square, which include Jakarta History Museum, Fine Art and Ceramic Museum, and Kota Post Office art gallery.
The museum building occupies the site of a church which was built in 1640, under the name of the Old Dutch Church (Dutch: De Oude Hollandsche Kerk). In 1732, the church was renovated and the name was changed into the New Dutch Church (Dutch: De Nieuwe Hollandsche Kerk). In 1808, an earthquake destroyed the church. Later in 1912, a building was constructed in the Neo-Renaissance style on the site, which initially functioned as a warehouse belonging to Geo Wehry & Co. In 1938, the building was renovated, following Dutch colonial architecture. The garden of the Wayang Museum, located on the former yard of the Dutch church, was the funeral site of General Governor Jan Pieterszoon Coen.
Later, the building was bought by the Batavia Society of Arts and Sciences (Dutch: Bataviasche Genootschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen), an institution dealing with Indonesian culture and science. The institution then transferred this building to the Old Batavia Foundation (Dutch: Stichting Oud Batavia) and on December 22, 1939, it was made a museum under the name of Old Batavia Museum (Dutch: Oude Bataviasche Museum). In 1957, after the independence of Indonesia, the building was transferred to the Institute of Indonesian Culture (Indonesian: Lembaga Kebudayaan Indonesia) and on September 17, 1962, to the Ministry of Education and Culture. On June 23, 1968, the DKI Jakarta Administration made the building into the Wayang Museum; the inauguration took place on August 13, 1975.
