Oldest House In Key West, Florida
It wasn't love at first sight when I saw the Oldest House in Key West, I was expecting a creaky dilapidated house. I was told that the house has been continuously restored for a few centuries and it is almost in perfect condition today. They have preserved plenty of antiques, original furniture, pots and pans, etc till date. I loved exploring the inside and there is also an outdoor kitchen aka cook-house (Key West is too hot to have a kitchen inside the house). They have lots of old black and white pictures of Key West as well, which are displayed in the garden museum. They do house tours, weddings and other activities that keep the place going.

The Haunting of Marrero's Guest House in Key West Florida
SPOILER: We have captured video evidence of paranormal activity! Two orbs, six spoken words, moaning, and the sobbing of what sounds like an adult woman.
We investigated Room 18 at Marrero’s Guest Mansion in Key West, Florida, supposedly the single most haunted room in all of Key West. Key West, Florida is thought to be one of the most haunted places in the United States. It has also become a vacation destination. The laid-back tropical lifestyle, rich nightlife and remarkable history are what draw many people back to the Keys year after year. Every little town has its secrets - and Key West holds a treasure trove filled with its own. Only its secrets are other-worldly. Tucked away in a tropical garden, yet built with the grandeur of old Victorian splendor, Marrero’s Guest Mansion is a charming bed and breakfast which is the perfect place for relaxation for visitors to Key West.
Stepping into Marrero’s Guest Mansion is like stepping back in time. The mansion is steeped in mystique and history and it has been lovingly updated and restores to bring back its former glory. It is now a bed and breakfast which features true island hospitality. The original architectural detail of the mansion remains the same. The mansion offers spacious guest rooms which have sleeping and sitting areas. All the rooms have been updated with all the conveniences you would expect from a modern hotel. There are 12 rooms in total to choose from. Many believe that the mansion’s original dwellers have chosen to remain behind after death to keep an eye on things.
Marrero’s was built in 1889 by a man named Francisco Marrero. He was a prominent cigar maker who owned a local cigar factory that is now another resort called The Southernmost Inn. Marrero fell in love with a woman 24 years younger than himself named Henriquetta Hernandez. Marrero built the mansion with the intention of luring Hetty, his young love, to Key West. His plan worked. Francisco and Henriquetta were married and had eight children together. While Francisco was away on business in Havana, he died from mysterious causes. Some say it was at the hands of a rival cigar maker. Henriquetta was devastated.
About six months after Francisco’s death, a stranger came from Cuba to claim the Marrero estate. Apparently, Francisco was married to another woman, his first wife, Maria Marrero in Cuba. They were never divorced. Henriquetta was banished from the mansion with her children on June 16th, 1891. After the court proceedings ended, Henriquetta publicly announced from her front porch, “This is my home forever. I will always remain in spirit.”
Henriquetta Marrero and all of her children died, most from tuberculosis or diphtheria, within a few years after being thrown out of their home.
She apparently returned to the house after her death. Both guests and hotel staff have felt her presence in the house, it is apparently strongest in Room 18. However, everyone is quick to agree that she is a benevolent spirit, just keeping an eye on things. After spending three nights in Room 18, we completely agree.
Francisco’s first wife sold off the house and all its contents and returned to Cuba. The house changed owners and purpose many times over the years. It was a casino, a bordello, a restaurant, and now a hotel. People have reported sensing Henriquetta in all the house’s different business settings.
It is said that if Henriquetta disliked guests, she would sway the chandelier back and forth. Crying babies at night at this adults-only establishment can be heard in rooms 17 and 23, the former nurseries. And there are the occasional doors locking and opening by themselves. We heard a crying WOMAN - it's on this video!
Those who have seen her climb the stairs believe there is nothing to fear. It is a benevolent spirit that comes to offer protection. Some feel a well-being, as if they were visited by a grandmother.
The silhouette of a gentleman, a man from another time, sometimes moves stealthily in the portal. Some say it is Francisco who has come to ask Henriquetta for forgiveness.
We are proud to share our investigation of Marrero’s Guest Mansion in Key West Florida.

Places to see in ( Key West - USA )
Key West, a U.S. island city, is part of the Florida Keys archipelago. It's also Florida's southernmost point, lying roughly 90 miles north of Cuba. Famed for its pastel-hued, conch-style houses, it’s a cruise-ship stop also accessible from the mainland via the Overseas Highway. It’s known more for its coral reefs – destinations for diving and snorkeling – than for its beaches.
Key West is the far frontier, edgier and more eccentric than the other keys, and also far more captivating. At its heart, this 7-sq-mile island feels like a beautiful tropical oasis, where the moonflowers bloom at night and the classical Caribbean homes are so sad and romantic it’s hard not to sigh at them.
While it has obvious allure, it's not without its contradictions. On one side of the road, there are literary festivals, Caribbean villas, tropical dining rooms and expensive art galleries. On the other, an S&M fetishist parade, frat boys passing out on the sidewalk and grizzly bars filled with bearded burnouts. With all that in mind, it's easy to find your groove in this setting, no matter where your interests lie. As in other parts of the Keys, nature plays a starring role here, with some breathtaking sunsets – cause for nightly celebration down on Mallory Sq.
The earliest Key West neighborhoods, on the western part of the island, are broadly known as Old Town. The Key West Historic District includes the major tourist destinations of the island, including Mallory Square, Duval Street, the Truman Annex and Fort Zachary Taylor. Old Town is where the classic bungalows and guest mansions are found. Bahama Village, southwest of Whitehead Street, features houses, churches, and sites related to its Afro-Bahamian history. The Meadows, lying northeast of the White Street Gallery District, is exclusively residential.
Key West, the southernmost point in the United States, is famous for watersports, lively nightlife, beaches, historic sites and its pastel, conch-style architechture. Duval Street, one of the most energetic strips of shops, bars and cafes anywhere, offers Sloppy Joe’s bar, a favorite Key West hangout of novelist Ernest Hemingway. And, for the more sober-minded, there's Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.

Fort East Martello Museum - Key West, Florida
The Fort East Martello Museum is famous for housing weird artifacts in Key West. Robert the Haunted Doll and Tombstone of Elena Hoyos whose decomposed body was partially preserved by a demented man for amorous purposes are kept here. The museum is rarely visited by people during day time, but the haunted tours bring in a lot of night time visitors. It is also listed in the U.S National Register of Historic Places. The view from the East Martello Tower is worth seeing.

9 Ton Gate - Megalithic Miracle at Coral Castle, Florida

We are at coral castle in Florida, and let’s take a look at the most mysterious structure in this castle – called the 9 ton gate. This 8 foot tall revolving gate has not only baffled common people but has also challenged modern day engineers. By the end of this video, I hope you will agree with me that this gate could not have been built by a single man unless he knew some kind of a secret ancient technology.
The nine ton gate no longer works, but here is a smaller 3 ton gate which still works. Edward Leedskalnin considered the 9 ton gate as a master piece and named this place after this gate, so the original name of Coral castle was Rock Gate Park. Ironically the door did not get much attention from experts before it stopped working in 1986. So the owner initially calls a local construction crew and they take a good look at this gate and tell him that they have no idea how to fix it. Now, the owner decides to call the quote on quote “educated engineers” and calls the University of Florida. They send in a team of 6 engineers and they arrive with plenty of modern equipment including a 20 ton crane. Now, keep in mind Ed did not use any modern equipment and built this door without anyone’s help.
When the engineers took the door down, they saw that Ed had not only modified simple car parts like axle shaft and ball bearings of a 1918 ford truck, but had also used a strange circular stone at the bottom. The engineers couldn't understand how this Frisbee sized rock could withstand 9 tons of weight. So, they sent it to the geology department in the University of Florida. Guess what happened? A month later, the expert geologists simply returned the rock to coral castle and told the owner “hey, We have compared this rock with almost all other types of rocks on this planet, and we have even compared it with meteorites, but we cannot determine the origin of this rock. “So, where did this rock come from? How did a man with a fourth grade education who rode nothing more than a bike, get a hold of this rock?
Anyways, the engineers put the gate back with new shaft and new bearings, but removed the rock because they were the experts and they could do better than the uneducated Ed Leedskalnin. You know what happened? It got stuck, and did not move. Believe it or not they had to shave the rock down, to make it work. This just proves that 6 experts with all their modern techniques could not duplicate what Ed had done single-handedly without modern equipment or techniques.
Now the original door which lasted from 1936 to 1986 could be moved by an 8 year old girl with one finger. After 1986, it was not that easy, but a grown man could move the door with one hand. But it only lasted until 2004 and then it ceased. At that time, 3 different teams of engineers looked at it and basically said “Leave it alone, it could crack open like an egg”. Because this rock is made of honeycomb coral, which is very brittle and it will break if you give a strong tap with a hammer. How could Ed quarry and cut this huge stone without breaking it? And how could Ed drill a hole exactly through the center of balance even though this rock is not a perfect rectangle?
Now, he claimed that he could build Coral Castle because he knew the secret behind the construction of the great pyramid. Strabo, a Greek geographer found a similar revolving door in the pyramid of Giza. He has documented that in 24 B.C while exploring the Pyramid, he stumbled on a large rectangular door made of rock. He mentions that this door leads to a long, narrow passage and when the door is shut, it is so perfect that it seems like any other rock in the Pyramid. Today, experts are still searching for this door. This raises the question if Ed really knew the secret behind the Pyramid of Giza? Is that why he was able to build a similar door in Coral castle?
Finally, there are many people who claim that Ed was simply a con man and a pseudoscientist. Here we have a pseudoscientist who could quarry, cut and put in place a 9 ton door without anyone’s help or modern technology. And we have the real scientists who come in as a team and with all their modern equipment and scientific calculations cannot duplicate what a pseudoscientist created. So you tell me, who the real scientist is and who should be labeled as pseudoscientists?
Please visit for intriguing and interesting places on the planet.

Starting Point: .
Brickell is an urban neighborhood of Greater Downtown Miami, Florida, United States, growing to become Miami's Millionaire's Row in the early 1900s after the construction of lavish mansions along Brickell Avenue by Mary Brickell. By the 1970s, office towers, hotels and apartments began replacing the historic mansions. Today, Brickell has grown to overtake the city's historic central business district to the north, as one of the largest financial districts in the United States. With a fast-growing residential population, Brickell is one of Miami's fastest-growing as well as its most dense neighborhood, with a 2010 population of about 31,000.

According to a 2009 UBS study of 73 world cities, Miami was ranked as the richest city in the United States, and the world's fifth-richest city in terms of purchasing power. Miami is nicknamed the Capital of Latin America and is the largest city with a Cuban-American plurality.
Downtown Miami is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, and many large national and international companies. My first drive by history video- The Sinbad motel Miami Florida
I have lived in South Florida all my life and my family has been here since 1919. I am starting a series of short out of the ordinary history videos describing historical places and events that happened in those places here in South Florida that can be seen as you drive by in your car.
The first one is concerning the Sinbad motel which you can see as you drive by on Biscayne Boulevard and NE 64 st in Miami Florida.
I am not changing the theme of my channel, I will still be making DIY and low cost money saving videos, etc, but wanted to experiment with Google earth and thought this would be a good way to learn how to use Google earth properly to make better videos.
Thanks for watching, I add new videos every week.
