OSLO PASS | Oslo on a budget with Oslo City Pass | Plus, the Viking Ship Museum
Oslo, Norway is an expensive city. Thankfully, you have the option of Oslo Pass, a bundle that can save you money while traveling in Oslo.
Full review of Oslo Pass here:
The Oslo Pass gives you the freedom to travel by bus, tram, underground for free within Zone 1 and 2 - pretty much all of central Oslo. I chose to ride bus 30 to the exciting Bygdøy Peninsula, where two of Oslo's most popular museums are located. By the way, if you have an Oslo Pass, admission to these museums is free - along with about 30 other museums in Oslo!
The Viking Ship Museum is one of the best museums I've ever been in. It was built specifically to house two excavated, well preserved Viking Ships from the 800s. You can also find so many Viking artifacts inside the ship.
Not far from the Viking Museum in Oslo, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History is also highly recommended. There are around 150 structures here to showcase Norwegian culture and architecture in an open air museum. You can also visit some of the inside exhibits, where you can find several friendly and knowledgeable attendants.
The highlight of the Norsk Folkemuseum is the Stave Church. It was an authentic 13th century wooden church, brought over from Gol. You can step inside to admire its amazing preserved structure, and talk to the attendant lady to learn more about it.
Thanks to Visit Oslo for providing me with an Oslo Pass.

Do Action, Miracle Happen.
Mohon dukungannya luurr.....agar ane terus mengeksplore dengan cara LIke, Subscribe, Comment & Share.
Thank's Luurrr....
Greetings From Oslo! (April 2018)
Greetings From Oslo! (April 2018)
David & Bori spend a long weekend in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Once they get there, that is, since Ryanair's advertised Oslo Airport is in fact over 100km away in TORP Sandefjord - but a smooth journey on NSB will quickly solve that!
Once they arrive, they explore the city, visit its opera house and several museums (including the National Gallery, FRAM & the Holocaust Centre) and take a couple of boat rides around the fjord.

Oslo Island Hopping: Hovedøya and Langøyene
The islands in the Oslo Fjord are easily reachable by ferry from Aker Brygge, in front of City Hall. In this video we visit two of the islands.
You pay for the ferry by using a regular public transportation ticket. If you already have a buss pass or Oslo Pass, you don't need to purchase an additional ticket.
The easiest way to purchase a public transportation ticket in Oslo is to use the Ruter Android or Iphone app:
However, only credit cards for certain countries are accepted. Check the section Overseas bank cards and phone numbers on the above webpage to see which countries this applies to.
Check for timetables in English.
Information from Visit Oslo is available at:
There are 11 large islands and a number of smaller islands in the inner Oslo Fjord. The most visited islands are Hovedøya, Gressholmen, and Langøyene.
Hovedøya is the largest and closest one to downtown Oslo. On Hovedøya there is at least one beach, and a number of flat rock (svaberg in Norwegian) swimming spots around the island. There is also at least one café and one restaurant on the island. The Revierhavnen Kro restaurant is located inside of the marina on the island, and you may need to reserve a table as the marina is normally not accessible to the public.
Langøyene is the large island that is the furthest away from Oslo. It has a long beach, and a large grass plain. This is the only island where overnight camping is allowed. Langøyene was originally two islands close together, but in the 40's and 50's, the sound between them was used as a landfill. Eventually the two islands got joined together into one big island by all the garbage. You should never drink the water from Langøyene because it is contaminated.
Gressholmen is an island in between the two others. It is often less crowded than the other major islands.
The ferry goes to other islands as well, but they have lots of vacation homes on them. Therefore, they are not that interesting to visit. These are Bleikøya,, Lindøya og Nakholmen.
To travel from Hovedøya to Langøyene and Gressholmen, you will have to go back to Aker Brygge to transfer to the other ferry route.
Bygdøy Ferry (Bygdøyfergene), boat to the museums, Oslo
The ferry to the Bygdøy peninsula operates between March and October from City Hall Pier 3.
Life in Norway: Oslo Pass info
Am charging my mac, decided to make one more quick vid. Oslo Pass. Whilst I´m here this week to get my new passport, I´m doing the tourist thing. The cheapest way for me to do that, for what I want to do, is getting a 72 hour Oslo Pass, as the boats are all included. Recently the boats ended their contract with public trans, so the boats are no longer included on the public trans tickets. Only the 72 hour Oslo Pass includes the boats. What´s included in my pass is all the boats, buses, trams, Tbane etc in zones 1 & 2, including Tusenfyrd, the amusement park in zone 2. About 50 museums, misc activities incl Holmenkollen, Opera house, misc sightseeing etc are included in my pass for free. Some restaurants are discounted too, but I´m not planning on eating out whilst here.
Many places to buy an Oslo Pass, but the only place that had the exact one I wanted was the Tourist location right in front of Oslo S. Had a lovely chat with the woman working there this morning too:).
In the official Tourist Info, I also got a free booklet with maps and info what´s included; free full sized actual city map, bus routes, night bus routes, airport timetable etc. And the free lovely chat.
The Oslo Pass booklet includes info on how to get to your chosen activity, museum, etc.

Many of these are on the Bygdøy Peninsula, including the waterside Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, with Viking ships from the 9th century. The Holmenkollbakken is a ski-jumping hill with panoramic views of the fjord. It also has a ski museum.

How to do Oslo Norway on a budget!
How to do Oslo, Norway on a budget I hear you ask? Well, ask no more!
I met with a friend and a fellow YouTuber Eivind ( his channel who was kind enough to host me in house through CouchSurfing (I had my own room), he hosted the likes of Simon Wilson and Click For Taz…..YES……I slept in the same bed as Click For Taz haha! Eivind showed me the best spots of the city and although it was winter and cold as anything, I had a really good time. Oslo surprised me because I didn’t expect it to be as beautiful as it was.
We walked to the beautiful harbour where you can see Munch Museum (opening in 2020), the Oslo Opera House (walking up to the top of the Opera House for sunset with a drink in hand is absolute bliss) & the Oslo Fjord. The Salt Village is overlooking the Oslo Fjord where you can grab a bite to eat & watch the locals jump into the Fjord after being in temperatures up to 90 degrees in the sauna! You can do this yourself too if you have the heart haha! We also went to the small Bazaar where I bought some chocolate which was made by this very entrepreneurial group of youths. I absolutely loved this area and the vibes here are soo good. Walking some more, we went to the Vippa food, culture and education centre where we grabbed some hot chocolate and enjoyed the vibes. There was a painting class at the time and the paintings were gorgeous. When we sat down to drink, their canvases were empty and halfway through, they created this magic of colours, a bit like how I see life! It is what we make it
We walked to the beautiful City Hall, Eivind made a lot of purchases (he is easily influenced haha) then went to check out the Christmas market which was bustling with people and Christmas vibes!
Eivind showed me the Royal Place as well as the Parliament Building where he used to work! I even had the privilege of checking out the Oslo Stock Exchange which celebrated its 200th Birthday in 2019 because Eivind works here!
After a busy day exploring, Eivind and I did went to the shops as we wanted to cook Somali food together + blind taste British as part of this cultural exchange and we chilled with a movie and a cuppa in hand!
The next day, more exploring and eating. We went to Vigeland Park which was completely free and a fab place to chill as well as The Food Hall where we could taste a lot of different foods and enjoy the atmosphere. In the evening, we cooked and ate together!
The only things that really costed money was food and most of that, we cooked at home so that was okay. It costed about £14 each way to get from the main airport to the city centre but I believe this can be done cheaper too!
Main take away here is: Create meaningful local connections wherever you are travelling to and find some nice people like Eivind who will make your stay much more enjoyable and enriching, who maybe will share their home and heart with you and you can share a bit of your time, energy, culture food etc with them too. This is what it is all about! Connecting with people and allowing them to show you the best of their city. This is what I value the most, not the paid attractions but real, genuine connections.
Thank you so much Eivind! If you want to go to Oslo, get in touch with Eivind, maybe you can stay, cook or explore Oslo with him if you are lucky!
