Nathaniel proudly served our country in the United States Army for 9 years. You are forever in our hearts. He is survived by his parents, Augustino and Lucina Trujillo; sisters, Amanda Trujillo, Alia Trujillo; brother, Ivan Trujillo; grandparents, Celestina Pena, Augustine Trujilli Sr. and Juana Holberg and a host of friends. Visitation was at the Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass was conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas. Interment followed with U.S. Army military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Abstract
Brothers Dean and Curtis Krueger grew up in Northside Independent School District and descended from a line of original settlers to this area. Well-researched in their family’s history, Dean and Curt describe their relatives’ initial sea voyages from Germany to Galveston, Texas, as early as 1858. Their family names (Krueger, Steubing, Milsap) still figure significantly in names of everything from roads to Northside schools. Their research includes the Indian Wars which were uniquely avoided by the Germans in South Texas, as was the Civil War. However, World Wars I and II included their service and subsequent detailed stories (driving an ambulance, losing an eye). Curt (the eldest) and Dean (five years younger) also relate the people and schools in NISD that they attended and the teachers that inspired them.

Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city became the first chartered civil settlement in present-day Texas in 1731. The area was still part of the Spanish Empire, and later of the Mexican Republic. It is the state's oldest municipality, having celebrated its 300th anniversary on May 1, 2018.The city's deep history is contrasted with its rapid growth over the past few decades.
