The Outeniqua Pass is a mountain pass in the Western Cape, South Africa, that carries the N9/N12 national road through the Outeniqua Mountains north of George. It connects George and the Garden Route coastal plain with Oudtshoorn and the Little Karoo. It was constructed between 1943 and 1951, replacing the Montagu Pass as the main route from George to the interior.

We recently visited George to take some epic footage of the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, to see the aftermath of the recent fires in this area.
Good to see some green vegetation growing again and nature recovering.

Motorcycle ride through Outeniqua, Swartberg and Meiringspoort passes
[en] This is one of the most scenic routes in South Africa, just off well known Route 62. Definitely a must, if you are visiting Western Cape.
First 40 seconds is a ride to Swartberg Pass. Top of the pass at 1.12s. The most scenic part of the pass is actually bottom (starting at around 2.20s) with rock formation called Wall of Fire (at 2.25s) and then Meiringspoort Gorge, which is actually on a route back to Oudtshoorn. Last few seconds is Outeniqua Pass and 4 Passes before reaching George. The route is suitable for 4x2 cars and dual sport motorbikes (~20 km of dirt road through Swartberg Pass). Enjoy!
[pl] Jedna z najbardziej scenicznych tras w RPA, dostepna dla zwyklego samochodów lub motocykli 'dual sport' (ze wzgledu na ~20 km zwirowej drogi przez przelecz Swartberg). Przepiekna trasa tuz przy znanej trasie Route 62, koniecznie sie nia przejedzcie, jesli bedziecie w Western Cape.
Pierwsze 40 sekund to droga do przeleczy Swartberg. Szczyt przeleczy - 1.12s. Najbardziej sceniczna czesc przeleczy to dol, ok. 2.25s gdzie znajduje sie znana formacja skalna Sciana Ognia (2.55s). Nieco dalej wawoz Meiringsport, ktory jest juz w drodze powrotnej do Oudtshoorn (3.27s). Koncowka to Outeniqua i 4 Przelecze tuz przed miasteczkiem George. Zapraszam!
