Animal Cafe's have become very popular throughout Japan turning the average coffee break into a petting zoo experience. Today we checked out an Owl Cafe in Osaka, Japan to see what it's really like ordering both a coffee and placing an owl on your head and shoulders. An interesting experience I think every foreigner should try at least once while visiting Japan.

It's my father's first time in Japan and the first thing on his list of things-I-have-to-do was visiting an owl cafe! As an owl and animal lover, he had the time of his life and acted like a little kid! (yep he fell with his butt in owl poo :D)
Even I, who prefers animals to live in their natural habitat but is an owl lover nonetheless, enjoyed this hour-long visit tremendously!

A Visit to the Owl Cafe in Osaka | フクロウカフェに行ってみた！
We went to the Lucky Owl cafe in Dotonbori, Osaka. While there were signs stating that touching was off limits in front of some owls, it was possible to pat many of them gently on the beak. The animals seemed well looked after and the staff were knowledgeable concerning every one of them!
It was ¥1500 for one drink + one hour at the cafe when I went. It is highly recommended that you call them and make a reservation before you go to avoid disappointment... as you may be able to see, the cafe can get pretty full (especially on weekends) and they restrict the number of customers for the well-being of the animals.

Owl cafe Osaka Dotenbori, Japan
Na een lange, lange zoektocht vind Robby dan eindelijk toch nog het uilen café in Osaka, Dotenbori in Japan.
Ik moet zeggen dat ik gemengde gevoelens had tijdens het bezoek, de uilen maakten een niet al te gelukkige indruk.
Bij binnenkomst moet je je handen desinfecteren en wordt je verteld dat je de uilen zachtjes over hun snavel mag aaien.
Een bezoek met kleine kinderen is om die reden niet aan te bevelen, de uilen zijn onberekenbaar en kunnen pikken.
En eigenlijk zou ik niemand een bezoek aanraden, die om dieren geeft, slechts 2 uilen vlogen los rond in een vrij kleine ruimte.
Om de uilen een keer van dicht bij te zien is natuurlijk wel leuk en interessant, maar niet met een touwtje om hun poot op een matje.
Wel heerste er een rustige sfeer en werd er zachtjes klassieke muziek afgespeeld, en waren er weinig bezoekers tijdens mijn bezoek van een uur.
Ook ik kon de verleiding niet weerstaan om de uilen te aaien, maar een volgende keer komt er zeker niet dat staat vast.

Nishiki Market holds literally all kinds of food you can think of: tsukemono (Japanese pickles), fresh tofu, kyo-yasai (Kyoto vegetables), wagashi (Japanese sweets), yakitori, tea, and fresh fish and shellfish.
2:07 - Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine
The famous never ending rows of red tori gates are probably the most iconic sight in Kyoto.

這裡遊客不多 逛著比較舒服

And they had to evacuate all the customers in the mall

We flew to Osaka, Japan and spent our first day enjoying sushi and petting owls at an owl cafe. We did a bit of shopping in Don Quijote the popular one-stop shop in Dotonbori area of Osaka.
