Video I shot of the Paducah Railroad Museum. I was using a new camera, and unfortunately the audio didn't turn out very well. Decided to use music and sound effects for the audio. May try to re-shoot this in the future.

Home to the National Quilt Museum, fiber artists around the country come here each April for the American Quilter's Society Annual Quilt Show and Contest. Downtown is also home to the Yeiser Art Center, Maiden Alley Cinema, the Carson Center, and the Paducah School of Art.

Paducah & Louisville Railway 6/30/2015
We get lucky and catch a loaded coal train departing Warrior Mine in Madisonville Kentucky on the afternoon of June 30th 2015. Train is powered by a 6 unit lash up of Geeps and slug sets which is a pretty nice catch for 2015. We chase the train West to just outside Princeton Kentucky. Filmed 6/30/2015.

At the Railroad Museum in Paducah Kentucky, they have a little Thomas display that kids can control with a switch. Elias LOVED it and could've stood there all day making Thomas start & stop!

Audubon Sculptures | Kentucky Life | KET
Henderson was once home to the famous naturalist and artist John James Audubon, and the city today celebrates him, and itself, through a series of sculptures throughout downtown.
In a grand homage to the renowned bird watcher, the city chose to have bronze sculptures made from Audubon's prints of birds. As of 2012, 13 sculptures of birds and one life-sized sculpture of Audubon himself can be found in downtown and at John James Audubon State Park. The public art attracts many types of people, among them bird lovers and fans of Audubon, which enhances Henderson's downtown.

Discovering a Kentucky Masterpiece with Robert Brewer
Throughout their history, sideboards symbolized status. They were the perfect accompaniment to well-dressed and well-mannered diners. Such was the case in early nineteenth-century Kentucky: estate inventories and other documentary sources show that sideboards were often among the most expensive pieces of furniture one could own. The magnificent sideboard shown here certainly shows why the form was so costly. Its complex profile, richly figured veneers, precise inlays, and the exceptional quality of its craftsmanship place it among the most ambitious Kentucky sideboards to have survived from the early nineteenth century. It was made between about 1800 and 1815, probably in Lexington or its surrounding area.
In this short video, Robert Brewer, the sideboard's previous owner, describes the unique circumstances surrounding his purchase of the piece in 1951.

Historic Railpark and Train Museum | Kentucky Life | KET
The Historic Railpark and Train Museum at the L&N depot in Bowling Green, Ky., has something for everyone in the family to enjoy. With displays of vintage train equipment and interactive exhibits, the Railpark makes it easy to imagine the elegance and luxury of the Golden Age of American passenger trains.
The L&N depot was built in 1925 to replace an older depot. Rail cars are displayed on 450 feet of track behind the museum. Among the treasures are a railway post office car, a 1949 Duncan Hines Diner, a sleeper car, and a caboose.

We get lucky and catch a daytime movement on the Paducah & Louisville Railway! We chase loaded coal train PRX1 from just west of Warrior Coal's West Madisonville Mine to the coal terminal on the Tennessee River near Calvert City Kentucky in great afternoon light. Filmed on 8/13/2014.

The Purple Onion | Kentucky Life | KET
In Muhlenberg County, Dave pulls up a chair for Today's Special at the Purple Onion, a popular Central City restaurant.
The Purple Onion is featured in the updated edition of Eating Your Way Across Kentucky by Gary P. West. The family-style restaurant, located on North First Street, features a full bar as well as an espresso bar. They also do catering.
The decor—done in shades of purple and lavender—includes murals of French street scenes and twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling. Upstairs presents a different mood with carpeting and a big-screen TV for watching games.
The Purple Onion serves a variety of homemade soups and desserts. While there, Dave helps make the restaurant's popular banana pudding.
