Rope car operates from 7 am to 8:30 pm with a break at 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm.
8.Palani Murugan temple attracts lacs of devotees from all over South India
carrying Kavadis and offering abhishekams or tonsure.
9.The other names of Murugan at Palani are Kulanthai velan, Chinna Kumaran, and Dhandayuthapani.(D)
10.Palani panchamirutham (made of fruits, dry fruits, jaggery and honey) is a famous prasadam available in the temple.
Arulmigu Kulazhandaivellayutha Swamy Temple (Thiruavinankudi), Palani is one among the six Padaiveedu's (Abode) of Lord Muruga which is the sub temple of Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple, Palani. Thai Poosam and Panguni Uthiram festivals are notified festivals of this temple and large number of devotees visiting this temple for dharsan of Lord Muruga. There are totally 38 sub-temples are attached with this main temple. It belongs to 9th century and the Cheran king Cheraman Peruman constructed this temple. Height of the Hill Temple : 150 M. The capacity of winch is 36 seats and length of the way is 290 meters from base station to hill temple and travel time is only 8 minutes. The cost of winch is cheap and It operates from 5.20 A.M to 9 P.M. On festival days Winch will be operated from 3.20 A.M to 9.00 P.M.Three Man Riding Haulage Winches are operated. The 36 seater 1st Winch was installed in the year 1966, the 32 Seater 2nd Winch was installed in the year 1981 and the 36 seater 3rd Winch was installed in the year 1988.

Rope Car Winch - Palani, India
Palani is a hill which is famous for housing the temple of lord Muruga. It is located in the western ghats of the southern India. The height of the hill is 2500 meters, hence difficult to climb on foot. The rope car winch system was put in place to easily go to and fro to the hill from the ground.
Timing: 7 A.M to 9 P.M (Closed during lunch 1.30 - 2.30 P.M)
