ABOUT THIS FEED:
Ashland, VA, in Central Virginia, is located on the CSX RF&P Subdivision, the former Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad, and is about 15 miles north of Richmond. The town gets over 20 Amtrak passenger trains and 20-25+ CSX freight trains daily. It’s a designated quiet zone, but the crew can use the horns at their discretion. The maximum speed for trains passing through the town's center is 35 miles per hour (MPH).
There are 3 cameras available. The default camera is an Axis 360 located on top of the Visitor’s Center (train station), and 2 static cameras facing North and South on the other side of the intersection. Desktop users can use the suitcase icon at the bottom of the video to toggle between cams. For other devices, you can access the static cams with the links above.
See Tiny Tim’s Trains and Toys Store on the south cam? It's awesome, and worth a visit. Tell Suzanne and crew we said hello!
There is no ATCS layout (and no server coverage) available for the RF&P Sub, as it does not use radio code line (RCL) for switch-and-signal control (RCL is essential for ATCS availability).
There is a radio feed available, listening to the CSX RF&P Sub (BD dispatcher) and Richmond Terminal (FB dispatcher) channels, as well as the Buckingham Branch Railroad's (BBRR) Piedmont Sub channel (which crosses the RF&P Sub at a diamond in Doswell, to the north of Ashland):
A second radio feed providing the Richmond Terminal channel, as well as those for both the North End and Bellwood Subs, can be found here (select the Richmond Area Stream):
When’s the next train? Yeah, we get this a lot. You can figure out the next Amtrak passenger train with this handy link:
There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.

JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY proudly presents the 23rd Annual NO DEAD ARTISTS International Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Art. For the 2019 installment of the exhibition, the gallery will host works by sixteen artists hailing from across the United States, as well as, Germany and Norway.
Each year the gallery invites a panel of renowned arts professionals and collectors to select the newest creative talents for around the world.
::: The 2019 NO DEAD ARTISTS Jury :::
ROBYN DUNN SCHWARZ
Before joining Matthew Clayton Brown in 2006, Robyn was an Assistant Vice President in Impressionist and Modern Art at Sotheby’s for nine years. Prior to Sotheby’s, she worked with George Stern Fine Arts, Los Angeles, a leading art dealer specializing in California paintings, and Nedra Matteucci’s Fenn Galleries, Santa Fe. Robyn has been a member of the Appraisers Association of America since 2007 and is certified in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). She is also a board member and past president of the Contemporary Art Center, New Orleans, trustee of the Metairie Park Country Day School and a member of Art Table and the Director’s Council of the New Orleans Museum of Art.
CARMON COLANGELO
Carmon Colangelo is the inaugural dean of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, bringing together Washington University’s historic Colleges of Art and Architecture and the distinguished Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum into a vibrant creative community. Colangelo is a widely exhibited artist who combines digital and traditional processes to create colorful, mixed-media prints and paintings that explore ideas about the human experience and contemporary condition. He earned a BFA in printmaking and painting from the University of Windsor in Ontario and an MFA in printmaking from Louisiana State University. Colangelo has been featured in more than 40 solo and 150 group exhibitions and his work has been collected by such museums as the National Museum of American Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Saint Louis Art Museum.
NICK KORNILOFF
As Executive Vice President, Partner and Show Director of Art Miami LLC, Korniloff oversees the management and creative direction for Art Miami, CONTEXT, Aqua Art Miami, Art New York, Palm Beach Modern & Contemporary, Art Wynwood, Art Southampton and Art Silicon Valley/San Francisco. He is also one of the founders of LUXE Show Ventures. In 2008, Korniloff took the helm at Art Miami LLC and swiftly revitalized Art Miami, now in its 28th year. By expanding the high-quality and diverse group of international exhibitors, galleries, and institutions, Korniloff reorganized the fair to attract an impressive audience of collectors, dealers, curators and artists. This expansion and move to the Wynwood Arts District successfully repositioned the show as the city’s most important and anchor fair during Art Week, which takes place in early December when thousands descend upon Miami for a flurry of cultural events and fairs. Art Miami is now the number one attended fair in America and second globally it now attracts around 85,000 attendees annually.
Of the approximate 3,000 artworks submitted to this jury by over 600 artists worldwide, only sixteen artists were selected to have their work exhibited at JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY.

MS-13's Active Members Are Laughing At Trump's Crackdown (HBO)
MS-13 has long been known as one of the deadliest street gangs in the world, but under the Trump administration, the fight against this criminal network of mostly Salvadoran young men, many of whom are immigrants, has ramped up dramatically.
MS-13 (or Mara Salvatrucha) wasn’t created in El Salvador; it was born in Los Angeles in the 1980s, founded by refugees from El Salvador’s civil war. In the 1980s, many of those gang members were deported back to El Salvador, where they quickly took advantage of the war-torn nation.
Now, with the Trump administration vowing to eliminate the gang at all costs, VICE News gained rare access inside the MS-13 underworld in El Salvador as they are hunted by police and rival gangs. Members told VICE News that the rhetoric from the White House has struck a nerve and warned there will be deadly consequences to the crackdown.

Inside America's Largest Right Wing Militia
In the backwoods of Georgia, a controversial, right-wing, anti-terror militia group gathers once a month to complete field training exercises under the command of Chris Hill—a.k.a Blood Agent. This militia group, called the Georgia III% Security Force, is part of the Three Percenter movement, which is inspired by the unfounded claim that only three percent of colonists fought against the British in the American Revolution.
VICE joins Hill and the Georgia III% Security Force during one of their monthly gatherings to see how they prepare themselves to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic and see what they'll do to protect their guns.

ABOUT THIS FEED:
The town of La Grange, Kentucky, in North Central Kentucky, is located on the CSX LCL Subdivision, at milepost 26.8. The LCL Sub is the former Louisville & Nashville Railroad (L&N) Short Line, originally the Louisville, Cincinnati & Lexington Railroad.
On the (default) north camera can be seen the signal at the south end of La Grange siding, at milepost 27.0, and the siding is 8,330 feet in length (the north end of the siding is at milepost 28.8).
In regards to that signal and approaching northbound trains, if the train is lined into the siding the signal with have a red-over-lunar (white) aspect, and if it's lined through on the main track the signal with display either a green-over-red or yellow (amber)-over-red aspect.
The town gets ~14 CSX freight trains daily. It’s a designated quiet zone, but the crew can use the horns at their discretion. The speed limit for trains as they enter the street-running portion is 10 miles per hour (MPH), until the engines have cleared said street-running, at which point they are allowed to increase their speed to 20 MPH.
There is no Amtrak service here. The last regularly scheduled passenger train on this line was the L&N's Pan-American in 1971.
There is an ATCS layout available, but there is no server (data) coverage available, as CSX has transitioned away from radio code line (RCL) for switch-and-signal control, to satellite for switch-and-signal, with cellular/telephony backups. RCL is essential for ATCS data availability.
When’s the next train? Yeah, we get this a lot. There’s no schedule for freight, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.

Chicago, Cook and DuPage counties, Illinois, Unites States, North America
Chicago is a city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and is the third most populous city in the United States, and the most populous city in the American Midwest with over 2.8 million residents. Its metropolitan area (also called Chicagoland), which extends into Indiana and Wisconsin, is the third-largest in the United States, after those of New York City and Los Angeles, with an estimated 9.8 million people. Chicago is the county seat of Cook County, though a small portion of the city limits also extend into DuPage County. Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837, near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed. Today, Chicago is listed as an alpha+ global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and ranks seventh in the world in the 2012 Global Cities Index. The city is an international hub for finance, commerce, industry, telecommunications, and transportation, with O'Hare International Airport being the second-busiest airport in the world in terms of traffic movements. In 2008, Chicago hosted 45.6 million international and domestic visitors. Among metropolitan areas, Chicago has the fourth-largest gross domestic product (GDP) in the world, just behind Tokyo, New York City, and Los Angeles, and ranking ahead of London and Paris. Chicago is one of the most important Worldwide Centers of Commerce and trade. Chicago's notability has found expression in numerous forms of popular culture, including novels, plays, films, songs, various types of journals (for example, sports, entertainment, business, trade, and academic), and the news media. The city has many nicknames, which reflect the impressions and opinions about historical and contemporary Chicago. The best-known include: Chi-town, Windy City and Second City. Chicago is located in northeastern Illinois on the southwestern shores of Lake Michigan. It is the principal city in Chicago Metropolitan Area situated in the Midwestern United States and the Great Lakes region. Chicago rests on a continental divide at the site of the Chicago Portage, connecting the Mississippi River and the Great Lakes watersheds. The city lies beside huge freshwater Lake Michigan, and two rivers—the Chicago River in downtown and the Calumet River in the industrial far South Side—flow entirely or partially through Chicago. Chicago is a world port city as the St Lawrence Seaway connects Lake Michigan with the Atlantic Ocean. The Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, which runs to the west of the City, connects the Chicago River with the Mississippi River, the fourth-longest river in the world. Chicago's history and economy are closely tied to its proximity to Lake Michigan. While the Chicago River historically handled much of the region's waterborne cargo, today's huge lake freighters use the city's Lake Calumet Harbor on the South Side. The lake also provides another positive effect, moderating Chicago's climate; making waterfront neighborhoods slightly warmer in winter and cooler in summer. When Chicago was founded in 1833, most of the early building began around the mouth of the Chicago River, as can be seen on a map of the city's original 58 blocks. The overall grade of the city's central, built-up areas, is relatively consistent with the natural flatness of its overall natural geography, generally exhibiting only slight differentiation otherwise. The average land elevation is 579 ft (176 m) above sea level. The lowest points are along the lake shore at 577 ft (176 m), while the highest point, at 735 ft (224 m), is a landfill located in the Hegewisch community area on the city's far south side. Chicago Half Marathon on Lake Shore Drive next to Harold Washington Park on the South Side. The Chicago Loop is the central business district, but Chicago is also a city of neighborhoods. Lake Shore Drive runs adjacent to a large portion of Chicago's lakefront. Some of the parks along the waterfront include Lincoln Park, Grant Park, Burnham Park and Jackson Park. Thirty-three public beaches are also found along the waterfront. Landfill extends into portions of the lake providing space for Navy Pier, Northerly Island, the Museum Campus, and large portions of the McCormick Place Convention Center. Most of the city's high-rise commercial and residential buildings can be found close to the waterfront.
Living Along The Fenceline - Trailer - TWN
Living Along the Fenceline is available for educational purchases:
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE tells the stories of seven grassroots women leaders from across the Pacific to Puerto Rico whose communities are affected by the U.S. military presence in their backyards. Although not considered war zones, these strategic locations are part of a global network of 1,000 U.S. bases that allows the United States to go to war anytime, anywhere. These women are not four-star generals or White House strategists. Their expertise comes from living with the tragic hidden costs to life, health, culture, and the environment.
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE offers provocative insights and information for audiences to think about these contentious issues in new ways. It lifts up alternative ideas of peace and security, embedded in the work of women who are acting on their visions and creativity. Rethinking security means respecting people and the land, having living wage jobs, and creating genuine security for all our children.
This documentary, winner of the Best Feature Documentary Award at the Female Eye Film Festival, features interviews with Alma Bulawan (Philippines), Diana Lopez (San Antonio TX), Lisa Natividad (Guam), Sumi Park (South Korea), Terri Keko’olani Raymond (Hawaii), Yumi Tomita (pseudonym--Okinawa) and Zaida Torres (Vieques, Puerto Rico).
Reviews
After seeing this film, 'security' will take on new meanings, and the world map will never look the same.
- Cynthia Enloe, Author of Nimo's War, Emma's War: Making Feminist Sense of the Iraq War
Powerful, informative, and inspiring, this film provides an urgently needed critique of the global impact of militarism.
- Setsu Shigematsu, Co-editor Militarized Currents
...will open the minds and hearts of viewers, inspire debate, and be very useful in high school and university classrooms worldwide.
- David Vine, Author of Base Nation
This documentary explores the creativity, insights, and resilience of women of color organizing in the U.S. and its military colonies around the world. Its community-oriented dialogue on the ways in which women variously address the environmental, medical, political, and sexual violence of the U.S. military is both compelling and moving. I highly recommend Living Along the Fenceline for educational instruction and community reflection.
- Keith Camacho, Co-editor of Militarized Currents
The women we meet in Living along the Fenceline are linked not merely by their troubles, but also by their activism—that silver lining that allows them to stitch together strong new solidarities from a fractured social fabric.
- Peter Certo, Foreign Policy in Focus
LIVING ALONG THE FENCELINE is beautifully shot and professionally edited, and the film’s far-ranging geography is easy to follow thanks to a map of the world on which American flags indicate US bases. This film come[s] at an auspicious time. As Americans gradually begin to face the moral and economic limits of constant military growth, and as the once unquestionable US defense budget comes under closer scrutiny…
