John's Pass Village and Boardwalk at Madeira Beach, FL
The “Pass” was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is Pinellas County’s #1 tourist attraction. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing. The beach is a short stroll away. Conveniently located near St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa, and just a short drive to the Orlando area.

Places to see in ( Clearwater - USA )
Clearwater is a city in Florida's Tampa Bay area known for sunny weather and gulf coast beaches. Clearwater Beach, on a barrier island, is a 3-mile stretch of white sand backed by hotels and restaurants. Injured dolphins and sea turtles are rehabilitated at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. At the city's Spectrum Field, the Phillies pro baseball team plays spring training games.
Clearwater is a city in Pinellas County, a region in Florida. Perhaps most easily recognized as the headquarters city of the Church of Scientology, Clearwater also has miles of beautiful beaches and close proximity to other cities in the Tampa Bay area. Suncoast Beach Trolley For a nominal fee you can explore all of the unique beach communities from Clearwater Beach to Pass-A-Grille. Trolley does not stop in Kenneth City, Belleair Beach and Belleair Shore. The Suncoast Beach Trolley currently runs every 20 - 30 minutes from 5:05AM to 10:10PM, M-Su, including holidays, with service until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Look for special trolley bus stop signs located frequently along the route. In addition to the route along the beaches, connector routes run between the coast and downtown Saint Petersburg. All Trolleys are wheelchair accessible, and they have bike racks as well.
Clearwater Beach is one of the top rated beaches in Florida. Besides laying in the white sand and swimming in the clear water there are also many activities offered such as fishing, sail boat, kayak, and jet ski rentals, dolphin and sunset tours, parasailing and more. Alongside the beach there are also many restaurants and shops. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium has many exhibits featuring marine animals such as stingrays, nurse sharks, river otters, sea turtles and of course dolphins. Many of these animals are rescued animals that cannot be returned back in the wild and are housed and cared for by the staff and serve as a way to teach visitors about marine life.
Sand Key Park consists of both a park and a beach. There is a playground for children and various nature trails for the whole family or even those just wanting to get a glimpse of the abundant wildlife. There is a boardwalk and even a dog park. On the beach there are lifeguards on a daily basis and one can rent umbrellas, cabanas and kayaks. Beach wheelchair rentals are also available.

Flight 81 Little Gasparilla to Stump Pass

Flight 81
Flight time 01:07
PIC 73:36
Allup wt. 275 lbs.
Wx: clear
Wind/Temp: 200/09 88F
Pilots:
Jeremy Tyler
Guest: Paul Robinson
Paul decided to add to his workout with another kiting session having kited that morning. I arrived about 17:20 and Paul shortly thereafter. It was rewarding to see the instruction given and Paul's muscle memory develop. Paul had a couple nice saves, the beginnings of rodeo kiting. Once muscle memory is trained he can move to free hand kiting then reverse takeoff practice followed by forward launches.
Though we flew yesterday, Jeremy was available to fly Friday and it was time for him to see the other sites in the area. Jeremy arrived after 18:00 and I was ready to cool off. Saying adios to Paul we departed for the North inlet of Gasperilla Island. Followed the shoreline North to Stump Pass. Lots of beautiful sites and waving. A little foot dragging some high spd hugging the ground turns and touch and goes.
As you will see in the vid, Mother nature or the county expanded the North side of Stump Pass beach with plenty of room to land.
I performed several touch and goes. On my first one, at Stump Pass, the wing unloaded on takeoff. I know the ground wasn't level and I expect the wing to unload when performing my carrier landings, I must hv let it get ahead of me either way I saved it and had to crank right avoiding shooting out low over the water without wing speed. Jeremy had a workout after dropping the wing on the beach. I forgot what went wrong on the first attempt then a stick got caught in the second. He stayed with it clearing the lines and performed a nice fwd. I think it's in the vid.
It was getting late, so we took the shortcut returning to the LZ. Staying abreast of places to land and airport traffic. I even considered landing on the roof of one set of buildings. Another landing zone with water on the windy side and buildings on the downwind side, reminds me of a paragliding competition landing zone in Mexico.
I wasn't sure how fast Jeremy's wing was so on the return I put let the trimmers out and Jeremy said he had a little more if needed. That's gud to know when making headway into the wind. Though based on my rough calculations in previous flights the higher fuel burn in reflex is offset by the increase in spd. Time to do a spd ck with the smaller APCO Lift and a more exact fuel burn btwn reflex and neutral trim.
Arriving at the LZ, I spiraled down rolling out on short final performing my standard power carrier landing followed within seconds by Jeremy swooping in. Good piloting. We both enjoyed a cold Arizona Green tea...... The End
Their are four categories of aviation mistakes, Embarrassment - Equipment damage - Injury - Death
