In de gemeente Schaarbeek van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest bevindt zich het Josaphatpark. Het park, die door de Belgische landschapsarchitect Edmund Galoppin in 1904 werd ontworpen, behelst een totale oppervlakte van 22 hectare. Gelegen in de vallei van de Josaphat, een zijrivier (vroeger Roodenbeek genoemd) van de Maalbeek is het Josaphatpark in verschillende fases ingedeeld: een Engelse landschapstuin en een groot aantal vijvers vormen de belangrijkste onderdelen. Daarnaast staat het park ook bekend om zijn talrijke beeldhouwwerken, monumentale bomen, opmerkelijke avifauna en weelderige vegetatie. In het park hebben ook de egels, konijnen en vossen hun vaste stek gevonden. Iedere laatste zondag van juni wordt het Kersenfeest in het park georganiseerd. Wie weet, kom je ook het dier de ezel tegen. Sedert 1974 is het Josaphatpark geklasseerd door Koninklijke Besluit. Voor iedere natuurliefhebber is het een absolute aanrader om dit indrukwekkend mooi park van dichtbij te bekijken, maar ook degene die van rust en stilte houden komen hier niet tekort.
Le Parc Josaphat se situe à Schaerbeek, une commune de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale. Le parc a été aménagé par le paysagiste Edmond Galoppin en 1904. Couvrant une surface totale de 22 hectares, le parc se trouve dans une vallée creusée par un affluent du Maelbeek, le ruisseau Josaphat, appelé jadis Roodenbeek. Le parc paysager à l'anglaise vallonné et bordé d'essences variées comportant un chapelet d'étangs attirent l'attention pour chaque visiteur. Le Parc Josaphat est connu pour ses superbes collections des arbres remarquables, les differents statues et l'avifaune remarquable. Chaque dernier dimanche de juin, est organisé dans le parc, la Fête de la Cerise. Je sais que vous pouvez rencontrer des ânes. Le parc Josaphat a été classé par arrêté royal le 31 décembre 1974. C'est une occasion à ne pas rater pour ceux qui aime la nature. Un espace vaste dans un silence impressionnant.
