MARINE PARK CLOSURE | Ch3Thailand
Vorapot Lomlim, head of Thailand’s Phi Phi Island National Park, has announced that the National Parks and Wildlife Department have ordered the temporary closure of Thailand’s famous Maya Bay from June the first to the end of September. The closure will allow recovery of coral and sea life, which have been affected by the quantity of boats and tourists. From October, the number of tourists will be limited to two thousand per day and boats will not be allowed to drop anchor. It is expected that Maya Beach’s closure will impact tourism revenue by only about six percent, but it will be of benefit to Thailand in the long run.
Saigon Park, February 2012
Inspite of the incredible noisy traffic on the streets, it was quiet and peaceful in this beautiful park in the middle of Saigon.
Bach Ma national park, Hue - Vietnam
We are traveling around the world and we would like to share the amazing things we have seen here.
This is Bach Ma national park in Hue Vietnam. We were 4 of us and it was low season in February so the prices were higher than normal. We paid $23.8 each for a whole day tour including lunch in the middle of the national park. Got picked up at our hotel early in the morning. It was nice to see the national park and the 300 meter waterfall.

Tao Dan Park - Ho Chi Minh city
An ideal urban green space, Tao Dan Park covers 10 hectares of Saigon. Early in the morning the Tao Dan Park is filled with people exercising, walking, and practicing tai chi. Look for the replica of Nha Trang's Cham tower and Hung King Temple, both perfect for photos. On the east side the park is populated with interesting statues.
Located in Saigon's District 1, Tao Dan has long entertained residents and vistors to Ho Chi Minh City. Feel the serenity of the lush green space as you go for an early morning or evening stroll. Bask under the shady trees in the afternoon. Given that Saigon's busy Truong Dinh intersects Tao Dan Park, you wouldn't know it by the fresh air and sense of calm the park radiates.
[Internal Document] - Interior Design for Opera House Station & Ba Son Station
On April 10, 2007, the city government approved the US$1.1 billion Line 1. It will run for 19.7 km from Bến Thành Market, underground for 2.6 km past the Opera House, Ba Son Shipyard, and then cross the Saigon River on an elevated track, passing through District 2 on the way to Suối Tiên Park and the terminus in Long Bình in District 9. In all, Line 1 will include 14 stations, with three of these (Ben Thanh, the Opera House and Ba Son) being underground.
Work to build a US$28 million depot in Long Binh for Line 1 began on February 21, 2008.Construction of the elevated section, east of the Saigon River, started in August 2012. The contract for the 3-station underground segment was to follow shortly after. The Japan Bank for International Cooperation will provide US$904.7 million to meet 83% of the cost, and the city government US$186.6 million.
Completion of Line 1 was originally planned for early 2018, but is now planned for 2020.[1] Planners expect the route to serve more than 160,000 passengers daily upon launch, increasing to 635,000 by 2030 and 800,000 by 2040. All stations along the route are expected to accommodate the disabled, with automatic ticket vending machines, telephone booths, rest rooms, subway doors and information bulletins accessible to the handicapped and visually impaired.
Unfortunately, as the basic systems engineering such as Requirements Management, Systems Assurance and the pre-requisite transverse engineering studies of noise and vibration, stray current mitigation, earthing and bonding have not been undertaken by the Japanese consultants or Japanese contractors, the Technical Designs of the Japanese contractors cannot be completed or approved.
VIETNAM: Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways has selected a consortium of Shimizu and Maeda Corp to build the underground section of metro Line 1.
The 2.6km underground section of Line 1 will run from Ben Thanh Market to Ba Son Shipyard with three stations. Work is divided into two packages. Package 1B covers the section from Opera House to Ba Son, including a four-level station at a depth of 40m at the intersection of Nguyen Hue and Le Loi boulevards. The station is planned for completion in April 2015, with track laying due to finish in March 2019.
Lithuanians in Vietnam. Visiting Hue
Huế originally rose to prominence as the capital of the Nguyễn lords, a feudal dynasty that dominated much of southern Vietnam from the 17th to the 19th century. In 1775 when Trịnh lord Trịnh Sâm captured it, it was known as Phú Xuân.
In 1802, Nguyễn Phúc Ánh (later Emperor Gia Long) succeeded in establishing his control over the whole of Vietnam, thereby making Huế the national capital.[1]
Minh Mạng (r. 1820-40) was the second emperor of the Nguyễn Dynasty, reigning from 14 February 1820 (his 29th birthday) until his death, on 20 January 1841. He was a younger son of Emperor Gia Long, whose eldest son, Crown Prince Cảnh, had died in 1801. Minh was well known for his opposition to French involvement in Vietnam, and for his rigid Confucian orthodoxy.
During the French colonial period, Huế was located in the protectorate of Annam. It remained the seat of the Imperial Palace until 1945, when Emperor Bảo Đại abdicated and a communist DRV government was established with its capital at Hà Nội (Hanoi), in the north.[2]
While Bảo Đại was proclaimed Head of the State of Vietnam with the help of the returning French colonialists in 1949 (although not with recognition from the communists or the full acceptance of the Vietnamese people), his new capital was Sài Gòn (Saigon), in the south.[3]
During the Republic of Vietnam, Huế's central location very near the border between the North and South put it in a vulnerable position in the Vietnam War. In the Tết Offensive of 1968, during the Battle of Huế, the city suffered considerable damage not only to its physical features, but its reputation as well, due to a combination of the American military bombing of historic buildings held by the North Vietnamese, and the massacre at Huế committed by the communist forces.
After the war's conclusion, many of the historic features of Huế were neglected because they were seen by the victorious communist regime and some other Vietnamese as relics from the feudal regime; the Vietnamese Communist Party doctrine officially described the Nguyễn Dynasty as feudal and reactionary. There has since been a change of policy, however, and many historical areas of the city are currently being restored.

Why You Should Visit DA NANG, Not HOI AN | Vietnam's Hidden Gem
Hoi An Vietnam is a very busy, overcrowded tourist trap. But just 30km away is Vietnam’s best hidden gem. A city that is far less visited and far more fun. This is why you should visit DA NANG not Hoi An!
In this travel guide, I will cover all of the best things to do in Da Nang: the best day trips, the Son Tra Peninsula, the ruins of My Son Sanctuary, Marble Mountain, My An district, the Dragon Bridge and My Khe beach and the best beach in Da Nang.

EVERYTHING FEATURED IN THIS GUIDE:
0:42 - Hoi An in the morning
This is the best time to see Hoi An without crowds. Travel and Leisure magazine voted Hoi An as the best city in the world for 2019 - and this is when you can see why. The only thing you won’t see its famous magic lantern displays.
1:25 - Overtourism in Hoi An
Whilst it was once a charming Old Town, Hoi An’s historic streets are now being destroyed by the crowds of mass tourism. In places it now resembles a theme park.
3:23 - Best Things to Do in Da Nang Vietnam: Travel Guide
All the information on Da Nang starts here!
4:30 - My Khe Beach, Da Nang
5km of beautiful beach on the seafront of the city, right in front of My An. For me, this is a better tourist beach than An Bang beach in Hoi An - and the best beach in Da Nang.
4:57 - Son Tra Da Nang Vietnam (aka Monkey Mountain)
The best Da Nang motorcycle route and my favourite thing to do in the city. Home to the biggest buddha statue in Vietnam, an 800 year old Banyan, amazing viewpoints and the best hidden beaches.
7:53 - Marble Mountain Da Nang Vietnam
A cluster of five marble and limestone hills with temples and viewpoints. Busy, but good fun.
8:33 - My Son Da Nang Vietnam
Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples in Vietnam. Like a smaller version of Cambodia’s Angkor Was temples.
8:42 - My An Da Nang
Da Nang’s coolest neighbourhood, popular with digital nomads and expats for great coffee shops, restaurants and rooftop bars.
9:55 - Dragon Bridge Da Nang Vietnam
A bridge over the River Hàn in the shape of a dragon. It blows fire from it’s head on weekends (seriously)!

VI(SIONS) OF SAIGON
Hello, my vitamins. I'm (somewhat) back.
Back in November 2018 I went to Vietnam and Singapore for about two weeks. This trip was a hectic one because I was spending 3 days in each city, so it was back to back flights, unpacking, packing, etc. Still had the time of my life, of course.
I didn't vlog too much this trip, but my mom recorded enough footage of me to create this short travel film. I hope you enjoy.
Always, Vi ( ˘ ³˘)❤
