Parvati Valley is situated in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. From the confluence of the Parvati River with the River Beas, the Parvati Valley runs eastwards, through a steep-sided valley from the town of Bhuntar, in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh in Northern India.
Kheerganga :- Kheerganga is a small village in slopes of mountains. The other side of the mountain opens towards Lahaul Spiti valley. There are lots of popular treks in the area but Kheerganga is THE place to trek amid nature and and relax along with Hot spring baths. Kheerganga trek starts from village Barsheni which is motorable from popular religious place of Sikhs – Manikaran. Its a 22 km stretch in the mountains from Manikaran with Untouched nature and simple village landscapes.
So road is only good options to reach Kasol. Now transportation has improved a lot and you have multiple options. There are luxury buses by HRTC are available for Kullu from Delhi, Chandigarh & many other main cities. Even normal buses of HRTC are also quite good and cheapest way to travel. Luxury buses by Himachal Tourism are also available from Delhi. All Volvo buses by HRTC & Himachal Tourism start from Himachal Bhavan in Delhi, which is located in Mandi House near Connaught Place.
All these buses go to Manali via Kullu and one needs to get down at Bhuntar to take local bus for Kasol or a taxi. Kasol is located at around 30 kilometers from Bhuntar. Kullu can be reached from Delhi by national highway NH 1 up to Chandigarh and from there by national highway NH21 which passes through Bilaspur, Sundernagar and Mandi towns. Kullu is 480 km from Delhi. There are various options available to stay in and around Kasol. Budget hotels, few resorts and luxury home-stays as well. And this place offers great atmosphere all around. Fresh air , blue sky, parvathi river, local folks, cattle grounds, green hills and lot more. There are various interesting treks around Kasol and Malana. There are various easy, moderate and difficult treks around Kasol village. Kheer Ganga is one of the main treks. Whole Parvati valley is very different and more beautiful from many surrounding hills stations of Himachal Pradesh. There is lot to explore in this part of Himachal,
Kasol is a village in Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Parvati River flows through the village. There is a bridge in the village which divides it in two parts known as Old Kasol and New Kasol. Lot of Foreigners can be seen in the streets around this place. Holy place Manikaran is just 5 kilometers from Kasol. Malana is another popular village which is reachable after a moderate trek. We went till Malana and heard a lot of stories about the place. We also got to know that many of the foreigners have come to this place and living here for many years now. Lot of Israelis come to Kasol and one can see the hebrew language banners in parvati valley. Probably I will share another post only on Malana with some of the mind boggling stories associated with this place, the cannabis and local democracy.
I would request you to follow these things when traveling -
- Manage your waste well and don’t litter
- Use dustbins. Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin.
- Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem.
- Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits.

Parvati Valley - Aug 2014 , My first GoPro Vacation
A couple of us went to Parvati valley this August 2014, got a GoPro to record it , heres a week in Parvati valley in 10 mins,
Our rough itinerary if you are interested:
Day 1 : Land in Delhi , leave by evening to Kasol via Bhuntar
Day 2 : Reach kasol by 11 morning chill out , overnight stay at alpine hotels
Day 3 : Trek to Malana and back , overnight camp stay
Day 4 : Trek to Kheerganaga , reach by evening overnight stay in Ashram
Day 5 : At Kheerganaga, mini treks , natural hot spring
Day 6 : Trek down to Kalga ( Bun Buni Pass ) , 6 to 7 hours. Kalga to Barshani , and Barshani to Tosh
Day 7 : Tosh - chill out
Day 8 : Tosh to kasol , buy a few souvenirs and overnight bus back to delhi (via Bhuntar again)
Day 9 : Reach Delhi and fly out
This is my first time using a gopro recording editing and all that stuff . would love some feedback/tips .

Parvati Valley | Tosh Village | Himachal Pradesh | A short Documentary film
Parvati Valley is situated in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh in the Kullu district. last village in this route is Tosh village where you can go by your own vehicle. It is located at about 2,400 metres (7,900 ft) in elevation on a hill near Kasol in the Parvati Valley, surrounded by mountains. The main occupation of the people in Parvati valley is Tourism. Apple orchards are also a big source of income for the local people. Wooden houses in the village are excellent example of architecture of Mountain people. Tosh is economical than its neighbor town Kasol. The guest houses and the hotels are available both at the entrance and far end of the village. Alongside the village is the Parvati River, which begins at the Mantalai Glacier within Parvati Valley. It is one of the most beautiful place to visit in India. its is a best destination for winter as you can easily enjoy snow fall. The period from November to February sees the whole village covered in snow and can be a good time to visit if you want to experience the freezing cold. The best way to reach Tosh is to take the bus from Delhi and get down at Bhuntar. Since no buses travel from Delhi to Bhuntar directly, you can take the bus going to Manali as Bhuntar is located 50 km before Manali. From Bhuntar, you will find HRTC buses going to Barshaini. Once you reach Barshaini, you can trek your way to Tosh. You can also take a shared cab for the 5 km long route. it is around 540 km from Delhi with a travel time of around 13 to 14 hours. Visit there once if you want to experience village life and explore the beauty of nature.

Kalga (also called Kalgha) is a village in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at about 2,500 metres (8,202 ft) in elevation on a hill near Kasol in the Parvati Valley, surrounded by mountains.[1] The village is reached by taking a bus from Bhuntar to Kasol followed by an hour long bus or car ride to Barshaini and then a 30 minutes trek. [2] The village attracts crowds during the months of April to July [3] and is a short de tour en route on the trek route to Kheerganga, famous for the hotspring. Kasol has good budget hotels to stay, relax and enjoy the abundant scenic views.

The Mystical Village of Parvati Valley India ????????
Here's a look into authentic village life in Himachal Pradesh! Mountain life and the daily activities! This whole experience of trekking here and staying here for a few days really felt like some psychedelic blast from the past. The vibrancy of the culture and village! The ganja fields! The charas! The crazy little kids fighting! The welcoming! This is my favorite village in the whole of Parvati Valley.

Kheerganga | Parvati Valley | Himachal Pradesh | India Trip 2017 | 11000 ft | Trekking
Kheer Ganga lies at the extreme end of Parvati valley and the last inhibited village while trekking to pin valley via Pin-Parvati pass. Kheerganga's panoramic skies and vast greenery are a much-needed delight to the trekker's eyes and especially the tired legs.
Trek - 14kms trek from Barsheni. It will take around 8 hours trek through beautiful nature of Himachal.

Fairy Forest | Pulga, Parvati Valley, India | Travel Photography
Among the many beautiful villages that make up Parvati Valley is Pulga. Situated east in the valley it lies along the edge of the Fairy Forest with a quaint little village, still relatively untouched, on the other edge.
I take a stroll through the forrest and back into the Village. Guided partly by a local dog I attempt to capture the essence of both Travel and Photography in Pulga.

How I Travelled Without Money For 5 Days In Parvati Valley (India)
This short documentary depicts the 5 days that I spent with no money in villages within Parvati Valley, Himachal, India. During this period, I did not use any cash: rather I camped in my own tent, cooked my own food, and relied on the generosity of others.
The aim of this experiment was to show that it's possible to travel with little money. It also highlights the humanity of people living in the mountains in India, as opposed to the morbid picture painted by the media of how women are treated here.
