Planning a Family Trip to Bangkok & Pattaya | 6 Days Itinerary
Planning a family trip to Bangkok and Pattaya:
▶ Visa: Thailand, being a tourist country, offers Visa on arrival(VoA) for more than 21 countries. Also you can apply for Tourist Visa from your home country to avoid standing in queue, especially if your flight arrival is in the morning hours.
▶ Forex: Thai Baht (THB) is the official currency of Thailand. You can see many currency exchange offices across Bangkok & Pattaya and hence you may carry any popular currency with you. Or you can carry USD, which is highly in demand in Thailand and you will get the best conversion rate.
▶ Transportation: You can book airport transportation via Klook. Within Pattaya, the cheap and convenient option is Tuk-tuk. For sight seeing in Bangkok, again you may book via Klook.
Itinerary:
----------------------------
▶ Day 1 (0:24): On arrival at BKK, transfer to Pattaya Hotel. In the afternoon, visit Ripley's Believe It or Not! Not great, but kids will enjoy it.
Next, you can do some shopping at Central Festival, on the beach road.
▶ Day 2 (3:08): Explore Coral Island (Koh Lan). Take the government ferry, which costs just 30THB/person, to the Coral Island. You will see many private players offering motor boat etc. but the catch is they will take you to different part of the island.
Spend the entire day in this island; enjoy the white sand beach, take part in water sports. Make sure you return before 5PM as the last ferry leaves at 5PM.
After coming back from the island, if you still have energy, after 6, go for a sight seeing in the walking street. It is safe, even with kids, but avoid if you have teenagers with you.
▶ Day 3 (4:26): Reach The Sanctuary of Truth on or before 10AM. Enjoy the architectural marvellous of this temple which is constructed using Teak wood. They have cultural shows at 11:30AM and 3:30PM, if interested, watch them, do an elephant ride or a horse ride around the temple.
Next, you can visit Art In Paradise, the 3D art museum. What makes this interesting is, they have introduced AR (Augmented Reality), use their AR App to see the art getting life! Make sure your mobile battery is full as the App eats up lot of battery.
In the evening, you can visit The View Point and Big Budha temple.
▶ Day 4 (7:10): Today, checkout from hotel and transfer to Bangkok. You can book taxi/van from the taxi counter on the beach road, I promise, you will get the best rate there.
On reaching Bangkok, check-in to the hotel. In the evening, you can go for a Dinner Cruise on Chao Phraya River.
▶ Day 5 (8:36): Today you explore Safari World and Marine Park. Marine Park has various shows, collect the schedule from the entrance and make sure you are not missing any of the shows.
▶ Day 6 (13:26): Last day of your trip. In the morning, go for a City tour, in which visit the Golden Budha and Wat Pho (The Reclining Budha) temples.
In the afternoon, do some shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall or MBK or Chatuchak Market or Pantip Plaza (IT/Software/Hardware).

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Bangkok - Travel Video
Bangkok, with a population of over 9 million inhabitants, is one of the biggest cities in the world. Its heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife do not immediately give visitors a warm welcome. But first impressions can be misleading. It is one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, extensive canals, a vibrant nightlife and great shopping, that has something for every traveler.
Due to the city’s congested traffic, the best transport options around Bangkok are the Skytrain, the metro and tuk-tuks. A memorable way to experience Bangkok is by a boat ride on the canals. Here’s a look at the top tourist attractions in Bangkok:

City in Thailand
Pattaya is a city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast known for its beaches. A quiet fishing village as recently as the 1960s, it’s now lined with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, cabaret bars, and 24-hour clubs.
Nearby, hillside Wat Phra Yai Temple features an 18m-tall golden Buddha. The area also features several designer golf courses, some with views of Pattaya Bay.
