The Ik people of Kidepo Valley National park,Uganda
The Ik people of Kidepo Valley National park (sometimes called Teuso, though this term is explicitly derogatory) are an ethnic group numbering between 10,000 to 11,000 people living in the mountains of northeastern Uganda near the border with Kenya, next to the more populous Karamojong and Turkana people.
The Ik were displaced from their land to create the Kidepo Valley National Park and consequently suffered extreme famine. Also, their weakness relative to other tribes meant they were regularly raided. The Ik are subsistence farmers who grind their own grain.
The Ik people live in several small villages arranged in clusters, which comprise the total “community”. Each small village is surrounded by an outer wall – made from thorny bushes and shrub cuttings entangled to form a protective fence.
The Ik People were the first people to migrate to Northeastern Uganda and they still remind everyone that Ik means “head of migration” or the first ones to migrate here.
Learn about the cultural life of the Ik people such paying he bride price with 5 to 10 beehives, chickens, goats, money instead of cattle, how children at a young age live with one another or their grandmother. How polygamy is practiced here and about everyday life in an Ik Village on Morungole Mountain.
Cattle for the most part is no longerkept for fear of raids from other tribes surrounding them, most farm, have goats and keep beehives and some of the honey is now processed.

Uganda--My Greatest Life Adventure
There is no way that words can explain the wonderful adventure that I had in Uganda this summer, so hopefully this video with speak for me.
I went with Greg and Toni, the forerunners of Solid Ground Youth Fellowship and Community Outreach, a non-profit ministry organization from Redding CA. Another family, the Browns, also joined us on this month long trip. During this time, we met and made many new friends, and experienced the work of God like I'v never seen before.
The music is by Alex Boye and Kevin Macleod, both who's songs provided very impactful feeling to this video.

Kampala, Entebbe, Reptile Village, Murchison Falls and Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda, 2016
A report on our travels in Uganda. We started out with a walking tour of Kampala. I highly recommend this 3 or 6 hour walk which is lead by Zulaika -
In Murchison Falls National Park is located on east and west sides of the Nile river. On the east side it's a rain forest and on the west it's more of a savanna. While at the Murchison Falls we saw a variety of wild animals. Hippos, crocodiles, baboons, elephants, jumping monkeys, monitor lizards and various bugs.
After the falls we returned to Kampala. After a day we took a Post Office bus to Kabale in the south west of Uganda. From Kabale we went to a crater Lake Bunyonyi that is over one mile above see level. The depth of the lake reaches 900 meters (over 2700 feet). Locals who live around the lake get around by canoes that are extremely hard to maneuver. People were very friendly and kids never missed an opportunity to practice their English.
We returned to Kampala and immediately left for Entebbe. We stopped by the Botanical Gardens where the original black and white Tarzan was filmed. In the morning on the day of our flights we visited the Reptile Village. Monitor lizards, crocodiles and chameleons were within reach.
Some of the things we didn't do was mountain and silver back gorilla tracking and chimpanzee tracking.
Overall, Uganda made a great impression on both of us. I highly recommend visiting this amazing country. We are definitely planing to return.
