Malaysia - Penang island - Penang hill
Penang Hill is one of Penang island's featured attractions. Well known for its cool and fresh climate from the tropical heat of George Town, it is a popular holiday retreat to the locals as well as tourists. Penang Hill is also known for its magnificently spectacular panoramic view of George Town, the mainland, the Penang Bridge and the Straits of Malacca which can be viewed from the Penang Hill Summit. The hill, also known as Bukit Bendera or Flagstaff Hill, is 833 m (2,723 ft) above sea level and stands out prominently from the lowlands as a hilly and forested area.
Access to the hill is most enjoyable by the Penang Hill Railway, a two section funicular railway which climbs Penang Hill from Air Itam. The railway was opened to the public on October 21, 1923 and the total journey takes about half an hour, with passengers changing cars at the mid-point station. The train may also stop at other intermediate stations upon request or the alighting of residents living around the hill.

The Habitat is located on Penang Hill. The Habitat is the oldest rainforest in Malaysia which makes it very authenthic.
I experienced the beautiful flora and fauna while walking on the highest Tree Top Walk on Penang island. On top of everything, I had a zipline experience to see the rainforest from above!

Penang Hill Festival 2019 (PHF2019) was held from July 18 to 21.
Its main objective was to celebrate Penang Hill’s glorious history, natural habitat, and cultural heritage to allow the visitors to ‘See the Nature and Feel the History’ of Penang Hill.
Over 20 events and activities was held in conjunction with PHF2019.

Malaysia: Finally back in the amazing city of George Town on the island of Penang
We finally left Thailand and crossed into Malaysia. By train we went to Butterworth and crossed onto the island of Penang. George Town is one of my favourite cities in the world. This is a place where three races - Indian, Malay and Chinese - live together in peace and harmony. You can see mosques, Hindu-, Buddhist-, Taoist-temples and churches next to each other, and you can fill up with all kinds of different foods. We will be here for the next three months, living on and exploring the island of Penang.
