We stayed one week at this amazing place. It was by far one of our favourite places.
The resort was incredible! Almost no people! Amazing beach with warm transparent water. A lot of different animals (monkeys jumping around on the top of the trees, big lizards, baby sharks, etc.)
I loved it and would return there in a heart beat!

The water is so clean here you will not find anywhere on the West side of Malaysia. Take morning 8 AM first jetty from Kuala besut Terengganu to Perhentian islands. It is the easiest way to reach on time for check-in to your hotel.

Perhentian Islands - Paradise Island in Malaysia
The Perhentian Islands are a small group of beautiful, coral-fringed islands off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, not far from the Thai border.
The Perhentian Islands (pronounced Perhen-TEE-AHN, not Perhen-SHEN) lie approximately 10 nautical miles (19 km) off the coast of northeastern Malaysia in the state of Terengganu, approximately 40 miles (64 km) south of the Thai border. The name Perhentian means stopping point in Malay. This is because the islands became a staging point used by traders traveling from Malaysia to Bangkok.

After 4 years we've known each other, this is our second trip outside Melaka. We traveled 12 hours to Kuala Besut, we took freaking crazy boat, we stayed at sunset-view paradise, we ate days and nights as much as we want, we hiked to the beautiful D'lagoon, we rocked the windy Long Beach, we swam hard all day. It was an absolute perfect gateway for us.

Paradise On Earth - Perhentian Islands (BOTH ISLANDS)
The highlights of our trip to both of the Perhentian Islands -
Crammed into one video.
We spent a few nights on Besar (the bigger island) and a few nights on Kecil (the smaller one).
One of the most amazing experiences of my life. From jungle walks to snorkeling all over the two islands and even the surrounding islands and exploring and eating the delicious foods all over. My highlight was definitely snorkeling with and watching a beautiful turtle for a while.
It's a cheap and really affordable destination and we're already planning our next trip back.
