Lima Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Lima – Welcome to the capital of Peru, where city sights are as diverse as the nation’s landscapes. Follow us through this South American city and take note of the top spots to visit.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Lima:
#Lima gives access to the mystical city of Machu Picchu in the Andes, Lake Titicaca in the highlands, the lush Amazon jungle and Peru’s coastal desert. But, before you go to see all of this, it’s worth exploring the capital first.
In Lima’s Historic Center is the Plaza de Armas, also known as the Plaza Mayor. #Visit Government Palace which is still the official seat of government today.
Continue your #vacation outside of the city center. The Bajada de los Baños in bohemian Barranco is home to the Bridge of Sighs. In Miraflores is Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Columbian temple of some 1,500 years old. The Museo Larco in Pueblo Libre contains amazing pre-Columbian artifacts.
Don’t miss Lima’s parks. Parque de las Leyendas is a zoo and Parque de Exposición has fountains to play in and an awe-inspiring light show.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

In this Episode of Lima Peru we take things to the artsy district of Barranco.
Known for its incredible wall art work and home to some of Peru's famous artist, musicians, and more. We wasted no time and dived right in to some local hot spots.
Below are the list of places we went to in the video. Also in the video we give them our rating.
Café Negro -
Known for their organic Peruvian coffee and tasty fresh breakfast sandwiches. We share with you a local makes the PERFECT cup of coffee.
El Cacaotal -
It's like a chocolate museum of all Peruvian Chocolates. ????
We steeped inside this incredible story and scene to learn how Peru in only 5 years of getting into the chocolate making scene has quickly become known as having some of the best chocolates in the world.
Juanito Bodega Bar
This has to be one our favorite new places in to eat in Barranco. It's a pretty popular restaurant and has been around since the 1930's. The walls are full of theatre actors and actress and we must say, the Pisco Sours there are amazing.
Being able to take you back into the kitchen to see how they prepare one of Peru's most famous dishes, Lomo Saltado was icing on the cake. Wait til you see this.
Crem dela Crem
This gelato shop was simple but impressive. They let you sample as many flavors as you like until you find the perfect match for you.
Great little seating area outside to enjoy your ice cream.

Day Trip From Lima, Peru | Pachacamac Ruins + Peruvian Food Buffet + Peruvian Folk Dancing Travel Video Transcript:
It is time for a day trip. We have been spending a lot of time in Lima. And today we finally convinced my Aunt to take us somewhere. It is nice of her to be honest. So we at Pachacamac. We drove maybe about an hour outside of Lima. It was a very short drive to be honest. So the plan is we're going to visit the museum of Pachacamac, then the ruins of Pachacamac. And then we are going to a show to see the Peruvian horses do the dance. It is like a horse show. It is kind of like the Peruvian gauchos right? It should be really cool. From what I've read we have a buffet. We have a Peruvian buffet for so we're going to be eating a lot of really good Peruvian food too. So basically three really awesome activities for the day. Let's get started.
Pachacamac is an archeological site that sits 40 kilometers southeast of Lima in the Lurin Valley. The archeological complex is made up of plazas, palaces and temple pyramids but our first stop was a museum to see some of the artifacts that have been found in the area.
A few quick facts before we start touring the ruins. So tickets we paid 15 Soles per person.
The earliest construction in Pachacamac date from the first century but that site reached its peak during the Wari Culture sometime around the 10th century. This was considered to be an important religious site and pilgrims would come to pay homage to their creator god Pachacamac. Who was associated with War and whose anger resulted in tremors and earthquakes.
We've left the ruins behind and arrived at Dpaso Mamacona.
This is my starter. I went for causa, some ceviche, tiradito and a few different salads.
I have potato with huancaina sauce which is really really good. I have causa which I also doused with that too which again is like soft potato inside. It is like a yellow potato shepherd's pie kind of. Inside you have avocado and meat. And then this was I forget the name of this one. Do you remember? Tiradito. Yes, it is fish with uh aji sauce. But a spicy yellow pepper sauce. You got octopus as well. Which is what is that one called again? Pulpo.
This is part of our Travel in Peru video series showcasing Peruvian food, Peruvian culture and Peruvian cuisine.

Peru Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Peru.
Lima is the capital of Peru, the second largest country in South America after Brazil and Argentina. The Palacio De Gobierno is also known as Pizzarro, or Government Palace. This Neo-Classic building was completed in 1938 and stands on the foundation of the former Pizzarro Palace. In the palace gardens is the house in which Pizzarro was killed. Lima, the City of Kings, became the capital of the largest region in Spanish South America and was where the viceroys of the Spanish crown resided. During colonial times this city was the largest, most populated, finest and most cultivated city on the continent. Some of the most beautiful colonial buildings in South America are to be found in Lima’s old town along with carved balconies of Moorish origin. Huaraz is the 3,050 metre high capital of the Departamento Ancash in the White Mountain range, the Cordillera Blanca. Several natural catastrophes destroyed the majority of the old houses and many people were killed. In 1824 Simon Bolivar built his headquarters there prior to his bloody struggle for Peru’s independence. The valley oasis of Nazca which played an important role during the early history of Peru is a desolate area in the south of the country. A small airport is the starting point of a journey to one of the world’s greatest mysteries, the enigma of Nazca culture: images of humans, animals and geometric forms scattered over an area of 1,000 km² like the pages of some fantastic historical and astronomical book, created by the Nazca between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D.The 8,300 km² Lake Titicaca is located at an altitudeof 4,000 m in the Andes Mountains on the border that divides Peru and Bolivia. Then there’s Machu Picchu, the Lost City Of The Incas! Peru is a country full of mystery and ancient history. A land of mountains, desert and jungle. A precious gem on the edge of the world!

Miraflores, Lima, Peru - One of the best neighborhood to live in or stay in when you visit Lima is Miraflores. It’s a great area to walk around, there are parks, oceanside, and plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping. We landed in Lima, got checked into our apartment ( and immediately took a walk to go eat lunch. Here’s a little walking tour of Miraflores, Lima. #Lima #Peru #travel
Also check out my Lima Travel Guide for exact tips and locations:
Océano Azul - I just searched this restaurant on Google and it looks pretty good and it was in walking distance from our apartment. Ceviche was pretty good, and a nice atmosphere and staff. Total price - 196 PEN ($59.33)
Parque Kennedy - This is a main landmark and park in Miraflores. It’s great to walk around, stroll, and people hang out at the park until l ate at night. You can also stop at Parroquia La Virgen Milagrosa church when you’re there.
Larcomar - This is the major open air shopping center in Lima, overlooking the coast. It’s nicely done, and I like the cafes overlooking the water.
Puku Puku Café Larco - I started with an Americano - 7.50 PEN ($2.27), and it was wonderful. I like how they use local Peruvian coffee. Then Sebastian offered to make us a Mochaccino. That was very nice of him, and it was delicious, my first time to have a mochaccino. Thank you Sebastian!
Wong Supermarket - Finally, right in the heart of Miraflores, across the street from Kennedy Park is Wong Supermarket - a gourmet, kind of expensive, but very nice supermarket.
Lima is an amazing city to travel to or to live in, and Miraflores is a great area of the city to base yourself in.

Peru Guide ( con subtitulos)
*NOTE & Correction - Pisco Day is the 4th Sunday of July and it happens to fall on July 28th this year.
In our visit to South America, our travels takes us first to Lima, Peru. It's our first time in Lima and it completely did not disappoint.

⭐⭐ LIMA RECOMMENDATIONS⭐⭐
1. Since Peru is known for its food, take a cooking class or a food tour with a local. There are several you could book online. This was on our list, but unfortunately due to bad weather on our trip into Lima we missed a day and missed our cooking class.
2. Definitely visit Parque del Amor. A gorgeous park is in the Miraflores neighborhood. Excellent spot to catch a sunset, soak up the positive energy and even capture some incredible photos.
3. Take a nice drive ( 4 hours) to Huacachina and experience the incredible Sand Dune buggy and Sand Surfing. Great little shops in the area and wonderful spots to eat lunch.
4. If you're going to be in Huacachina, stop at a the restaurant/winery called El Catador in ICA. The food and drinks are delicious. We tried a native dish Carapulcra Sopa Seca and Carapulcra Arroz Verde.
5. Boat Tour to the Ballestas Island to see the Penguins and incredible birds and wildlife. ( VERY touristy and can get VERY busy so get there early.
6. In Miraflores, the malecon runs along the coast for miles. You'll see many people out either running, walking, biking. There's even a dog park and playgrounds. So something or everyone.
7. Visit Plaza de Armas both during the day and at night. The churches and other buildings are spectacular. You can also visit the San Francisco Church and the famous catacombs there.
At night Plaza de Armas is stunning visual treat.
See the oldest fountain in Lima, Peru there and if yo ugoing to be traveling to Lima in July..on July 26th they fill the fountain with Pisco for everyone to drink. ( BONUS)
8. The place in Lima we had Ceviche was called Sabor a Peru in the City Center..not our favorite but we did have it at night, and apparently you should have Ceviche during the day and certainly by lunch time. We weren't impressed with the restaurant but that's just our opinion.

Peru Travel Vlog 2019 - What Did I Find In Lima?
Hi everyone! I am in Peru for 3 months, to create a sustainable fashion brand. This video is an introduction to my Traveling Vlog 2019.
I am in Lima now for a week. In this video, I will be talking about what did I Find in Lima, I will bring you with me to explore El Centro de Lima, Plaza de Armas and Barranco.
On the first day, we went swimming with sea lions, sea lions are so cute! And on the next days, we went exploring the city.
I will be talking about the waste in Peru and the waste in Lima as well.
This series will be a sustainable fashion brand documentary; I want to develop an ethical fashion brand that brings cultural and environmental awareness together.
My sustainable fashion brand is called LATERAL, literally meaning EXTENDING FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON AN EQUAL PLANE.
Traveling to South America is a real adventure, in this travel vlog, we will be also visiting remote places and touristic places as well.
Come with me and follow my adventure and the journey of my sustainable fashion brand:
