Petrified tree in Yellowstone National Park
This Petrified Tree was created during volcanic activity in Yellowstone National Park. Trees had their organic structure replaced by minerals while they were slowly buried by volcanic ash.
The only remaining petrified tree in the area is placed behind a fence to protect it from vandals and collectors. There used to be two other petrified trees here, but were removed a piece at a time by past park visitors who thoughtlessly took the pieces home as souvenirs.

Petrified Volcanic Redwood at Yellowstone (over the fence view)
About 50 million years ago, this area of Yellowstone National Park was a flourishing forest with towering redwoods, oaks, pines, maples, magnolias, and dogwoods, when volcanic eruptions buried the forest in ash.
This ancient redwood still stands, its wooden trunk turned to stone.

Looking for the Largest Petrified Tree in the World in 4K
In this video I started to look into the claim of the Largest Petrified Tree in the World?. Seems like there's petrified wood just about everywhere in northeast Arizona, and the World's Largest Petrified Tree, they say is at the Geronimo Trading Post. The tree is in several sections and what I could find, it weighs 80 tons. It's free for you to see, it's just laying right next to the parking lot as you see in the video. I think it's actually worth seeing. If your on I-40 the exit is 280, its on the north side of the interstate.
Now for the one's that are putting in the comments that it's not the Largest in the World' it's in Thailand. Let's take a look at that further. I have left links down below if you would like to read more on that. Now I can believe that it's the world's longest unbroken piece of petrified wood, it was found in Thailand back in 2003. The tree has a length of 236.9 feet, and is 5.9 feet in diameter at the basal. Just keep in mind that it is broken. I couldn't find the length that it is broken at. If you know leave it down below.
Let' look at some other petrified wood in the USA. Now most of these place you have to pay to get a look at the petrified wood. The first one we will look into is in California. The Oakland Tribune from 1917 goes into describing a road trip in California to the Petrified Forest. He also describes some trees in the article. Queen of the forest is 80 feet long and is 12 feet in diameter. The menarch is 60 feet long 9 feet in diameter.
There is other trees that you can find there like The Giant that tree is 60 feet long and is 6 feet in diameter. Now all these trees are redwoods, all laying down the same direction from a volcanic explosion 7 miles to the northeast. That would put it behind the present day Mt. St. Helena. These trees would of been covered with volcanic ash after the explosion.
In Yellowstone National Park, in Wyoming you can find petrified forest that are standing upright. Funny thing about the trees that are Petrified, all of them live in Warmer Climates with more precipitation. Let's ask Beth Taylor the Park Ranger at Yellowstone what trees are there in the petrified forest.
If you would like to go back to the horse and buggy days, leave a comment about it down below. I might make a video talking about my take on it. So where is the Largest Petrified Tree ?
Thank-you for all your comments and viewing the video. I have other videos I would like you to view.

Old Faithful Geyser in California
I must have driven past this geyser a hundred times in my life... I finally stopped by and captured the moment!
Old Faithful is a cone geyser located in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. Old Faithful was named in 1870 during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to receive a name. It is one of the most predictable geographical features on Earth, erupting every 35 to 120 minutes. The geyser, as well as the nearby Old Faithful Inn, is part of the Old Faithful Historic District.
????️ Mountains That May Have Been MASSIVE Tree Stumps!!!
Take a step back and look closely. Notice mountains from all around the World that are simply petrified tree trunks. The mountain ranges around them are simply the root system of the tree.
The same kind of root system the changes the level of the ground in our yards.
Now that you are aware of this, look at mountains (and sometimes hills) are the trunk and root system of different types of trees.
Once I learned of this all I did was search, mountains and mountain ranges in google images and pull the most obvious photos that are giant ancient trees.
2017 07 11 Petrified Trees of Specimen Ridge
July 11, 2017, Yellowstone National Park: Hiking to a high ridge above an area called Little America, West of Lamar Valley. It was a steep climb for a chance to see 50 million year old petrified trees. There were some slips and falls. However the views were worth it!

Technical:
With the exception of video footage captured within Carlsbad Caverns and stills captured within the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert using a Canon S95, all other video footage was captured with a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition. Post production was completed primarily using the latest version of GoPro Studio - which, by the way - was an absolute nightmare to work with (e.g., countless crashes and major instability), but was the only editing software I had access to that could properly handle multiple frame rates without jacking up aural/visual synchronization. Final encoding duty was performed using Adobe Media Encoder CC. Adobe Media Encoder can handle virtually anything you throw at it - marvelous software! Adobe Audition CC was used for various audio duties.
Support Vechicle:
2006 Scion xA with suspension/chassis modifications. After logging more than 4,800 miles over the course of 17 days, with 95,0000 original miles on the odometer, conquering numerous climbs and descents between 7,000 and 12,000 feet in elevation, negotiating over 50 miles of off-road trails that would give a Jeep a workout, consistently carrying at least 300 pounds of gear/food/water + 300 pounds of human flesh and bone, and achieving an average of 36 miles-per-gallon in fuel economy, this car breezed back home with no more and no less than a 5 millimeter chip in its windscreen. Absolutely stellar automobile! Highly recommended!

Drawn to Yellowstone
In association with Wyoming PBS, Raechel Donahue of Wild West Productions has produced, written and directed a documentary loosely based on the Peter Hassrick book Drawn to Yellowstone, the story of how the art of Thomas Moran and the photography of William H. Jackson were used to persuade Congress to make Yellowstone into the world's first national park. Beginning with the native Americans who frequented the area, through the early expeditions in the 1800s and eventually traveling up to the present day, scholars and artists tell the story of this amazing 2.5 million acre wilderness and the incredible pull it has always held for artists of every kind.
