Peak District National Park: Peveril Castle
I visit Peveril Castle in Castleton in Derbyshire and give a little information about the history of the castle and a tour of the area.
The castle dates back from the decades following the Norman invasion in 1066 and was built by William Peveril, a Norman knight. Over the years the castle has been built up, with extensive work done during the reign of King Henry II.

Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue-Peak District Locations 2019
Locations for the iconic 1974 Zombie movie filmed in and around the Peak District in Derbyshire England by Spanish director Jorge Grau and starring Ray Lovelock and Cristina Galbo.
Winnats Pass, Peak National Park, Derbyshire
This is one of the filming locations used in Jorge Grau - The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue.
Winnats Pass, Castleton, Peak National park, UK, is a long collapsed limestone cave system. The name Winnats is short for 'Windygates' and on a windy day you will see why it came by that name, for the wind seems to swirl around everywhere.
The 'pass' part of the name is something of a misnomer - Winnats is a steep-sided limestone valley with cliffs on all sides, which climbs out of the Hope Valley onto the limestone plateau area above. The valley was created by the action of water eating away at the limestone rock - water gradually dissolves the limestone and the streams tend to find their way underground by gradually enlarging the natural cracks and fissures in the rock.

Walking in The Peak District & Exploring Castleton || We are back in the UK!
Today we head out to one of our favourite places in the UK, The Peak District. It's not too far from where we live so we love going out to explore the villages and beautiful surroundings on the weekends. We catch the train from our little home town Retford to Sheffield where we change trains and head on to Hope in Derbyshire, a village in The Peak District.
We walk from Hope to Castleton, across farms and along Peakshole Water before discovering Peveril Castle and the beautiful Cave Dale. It's so refreshing walking in The Peak District and exploring Castleton with its cute shops and cosy pubs.

We had a lovely couple of months back home in Australia and took the time off from creating content and uploading so that we could make the most of our time with our family and friends. So naturally we are quite a bit behind on our upload schedule but we are back in the UK now.

We are Jori and Malika, a couple from Australia living in the U.K., and documenting our adventures all around the world. We publish a weekly travel vlog to share with our friends and family, and we'd love for you to come with us ????
We started Beyond Your Doorstep as a way of documenting our travel so that we could look back on it ourselves. We started off posting photos, and then blogging, and now we vlog basically everywhere we go. We know travel is hard, and it's expensive, so we try and keep it as real as possible. Jori works as an engineer and Malika works as a waitress (*it's weird talking in the 3rd person*) ????We live in a little countryside town in England where we work 9-5 most of the year. We live in a tiny studio apartment and try to keep our costs down as much as possible. We travel whenever we can and edit our vlogs at night and on the weekends. It's a pretty huge workload but we love reliving our adventures as we edit and publish our travel vlogs. We may not be the quintessential digital nomad travel couple, but we love this adventure we're on!
We love seeing new places, experiencing new cultures, and tasting food from all over the world! Join us on our journey exploring this beautiful planet we all call home!
If you've read this far, thank you so so so much ❤️We hope you subscribe (and hit the bell) to join us on our adventures ❤️

4k 24p Cinematic Filter Drive Wander around Castleton Peak District Derbyshire England Castle Town
***24p Filtered Version. Please see my other videos for a smoother natural looking version if youd prefer that***
An unplanned drive and wander around Castleton, in the Peak District which is a district of Derbyshire.
One of my favourite drives when going to Manchester from Sheffield is through the gorgeous Village of Castleton.
Here are few 4k clips I took on my camcorder with a couple of friends. A lovely Sunny but cold January Monday.
I didn't get chance to get any video of the inside of the Castle or inside the Peak Cavern. I may make one in the future.
Anyway, thought that I would share, enjoy... I have also uploaded an Identical Video in 4k 30fps which will be a little smoother but less cinematic, please go and check it out and let me know which you prefer.
Please note I'm not a photographer or videographer. I know my shots arent that good, only had my camera a few days and literally this was just point and shoot whatever I saw and trying to keep up with my friends who kept telling me to stop trailing behind!
Enjoy =)

________________________
The Peak District is an upland area in England at the southern end of the Pennines. It is mostly in northern Derbyshire, but also includes parts of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. An area of great diversity, it is mostly split into the Dark Peak, where most of the moorland is found and the geology is gritstone, and the limestone area of the White Peak.
The Peak District National Park became the first national park in the United Kingdom in 1951. With its proximity to the cities of Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and Sheffield, and access by road and rail, it attracts millions of visitors every year.
Inhabited from the Mesolithic era, evidence exists from the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages. Settled by the Romans and Anglo-Saxons, the area remained largely agricultural and mining grew in importance in the medieval era. Richard Arkwright built his cotton mills at the start of the Industrial Revolution. Quarrying became important as mining declined. Tourism grew after the advent of the railways, visitors attracted by the landscape, spa towns at Buxton and Matlock Bath, Castleton's show caves, and Bakewell, the national park's only town.
Tourism remains important for its towns and villages and their varied attractions, country houses and heritage sites. Outside the towns, walking on the extensive network of public footpaths, cycle trails, rock climbing and caving are popular pursuits.
