DOLPO SHEY PHOKSUNDO (Phoksumdo) Trekking, NEPAL - a Memorable Adventure
Dolpa and Phoksumdo (yep, not a spelling mistake) were always on our bucket list. We finally did the Dolpo Trek this year. The 12 day trip consisted of crazy road trips at the beginning, trekking through vastly different landscapes and flight back home which offered some spectacular views.
One of the best views and the bluest clearest waters that we've ever been to. But what makes it even better? The people. Yes, the people might be one of main reasons we want to go back. They make you feel at home away from home.
And yeah, not to forget our drone crash. The drone recovery was a experience on its own as we went over a cliff to get to it.

Phoksundo Lake Trek | Upper Dolpa | A Travel Story | 2019 | Shey-Phoksundo National Park
This is phoksundo lake trek done with two friends arman budathoki and bikram karki. The trek was done from 18 may - 26 may 2019. A total of 9 days trek. Two of us started our Journey from kathmandu and one of our friend was picked up from lamahi, dang. It cost around Rs 15000 per person for the trip.

Dolpo is one of the most remote areas of Nepal Himalayas in far western region. Since 1980, Dolpo is opened for international trekkers where it is still a controlled area. Due to controlled area, special permit is required for trekking in Dolpo. Dolpo is known for two sub areas which are Lower Dolpo and Upper Dolpo. Organized tours are essential for trekking in Dolpo. It is worth to trek in Dolpo where the rewards like turquoise lake- Shey Phoksundo, majestic Shey Gompa, numerous breathtaking passes, primitive form of Bon religion, Tibetan culture and rare wildlife can be experienced.

Shey phoksundo lake is located at Dolpa district in Nepal.Dolpa also called as Dolpo is also largest district in nepal.This lake is deepest lake among all lake in nepal which lies at 3400m altitude from sea level.This october 2019 our crew member have been visited there to explore phoksundo lake.This lake has 2 different color one is dark blue shown before sunlight and sky blue shown after sunlight strikes in lake.

Trekking From Shey Phoksundo Lake to Rara | Dolpa - Jumla - Mugu Vlog | Nepal Trip
5th Video on Nepal Trip Series. I did this trip on 2018. It took me 180 days to complete all the districts of Nepal.
This video covers my trip from Phoksundo Lake, Dolpa to Rara Lake of Mugu District.
The route I took was
Phoksundo-Pugmo-Kagmara-Kaigauna-Maura Pass-Gothi Chour-Jumla-Danfe Pass-Khali-Bhulbhule-Rara
After this, I went towards Humla by crossing the Chankhali Pass. It will be covered in the next video.
It was 8 days trek from Phoksundo to Rara with one 5k+ meter pass, Kagmara pass. I had to camp once on this hill because the village were far from pass. I interaction with locals were memorable and the terrain was not lesser.

The most awaited day for me, to make it safe and happy to Shey Phoksundo Lake. A dream come true. A box ticked off the bucket list. An amazingly gorgeous place, the landscape, the people, the trail. Brilliant.

The purpose of the video is to document my journey as much as possible. During my research for the journey, it was difficult to find a visual content for this adventure therefore I decided to film and share it with the rest of the world. Every clip is combined in a good order and on day to day basis, so it is easy to follow. I am not used to it but I have also tried my best to narrate and guide the audience through the video.

Phoksundo Lake is an alpine fresh water oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Shey Phoksundo National Park, located at an elevation of 3,611.5 m (11,849 ft) above sea level in the Dolpa District. Phoksundo Lake is 494 ha (1.91 sq mi) in size with a water volume of 409,000,000 m3 (1.44×1010 cu ft) and a discharge of 3.715 m3/s (131.2 cu ft/s).In 2004, a survey by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology measured the maximum depth of the lake at 145 m (476 ft).

Trekking to shey phoksundo lake dolpa from jufal airport started on 15th April 2017(2/1/074 BS). It took two and a half days on foot to reach the lake.The GHT(great Himalayan trail) thrilled us in every corner. The journey was difficult yet enjoyable due to the sceneries. After the first glimpse of shey phoksundo lake all the pain vanished.
A lovely enjoyable unforgettable wonderful trip of lifetime.
I wish everyone should see the beauty of lake in one's lifetime.
