But nowadays this is one of the most cultural places in Moscow. An old manufactories for winemaking now used as a territory for all kinds of contemporary arts of contemporary artists.

beautiful photo of Lenin's Mausoleum in Moscow Russia
Lenin's Mausoleum, also known as Lenin's Tomb, situated in Red Square in the center of Moscow, is the mausoleum that serves as the current resting place of Vladimir Lenin. His embalmed body has been on public display there since shortly after his death in 1924 (with rare exceptions in wartime). Aleksey Shchusev's diminutive but monumental granite structure incorporates some elements from ancient mausoleums, such as the Step Pyramid and the Tomb of Cyrus the Great.
Lenin died on January 21, 1924. Two days later architect Aleksey Shchusev was charged with building a structure suitable for viewing of the body by mourners. A wooden tomb, in Red Square by the Kremlin wall, was ready January 27, and later that day Lenin's coffin was placed in it. More than 100,000[citation needed] people visited the tomb in the next six weeks. By August 1924, Shchusev had replaced the tomb with a larger one, and Lenin's body transferred to a sarcophagus designed by architect Konstantin Melnikov.
Pathologist Alexei Ivanovich Abrikosov had embalmed the body shortly after Lenin's death, but by 1929 it was determined that it would be possible to preserve the body for much longer than usual; therefore, the next year a new mausoleum of marble, porphyry, granite, and labradorite (by Alexey Shchusev, I.A. Frantsuz and G.K. Yakovlev) was completed.
In 1973 sculptor Nikolai Tomsky designed a new sarcophagus.
On January 26, 1924, the Head of the Moscow Garrison issued an order to place the Guard of Honour at the mausoleum. Russians call it the Number One Sentry. After the events of the Russian constitutional crisis of 1993, the Guard of Honour was disbanded. In 1997 the Number One Sentry was restored at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.
The body was removed in October 1941 and evacuated to Tyumen, in Siberia, when it appeared that Moscow might be in danger of capture by German troops. After the war, it was returned and the tomb reopened.
More than 10 million people visited Lenin's tomb between 1924 and 1972.
Joseph Stalin's embalmed body shared a spot next to Lenin's, from the time of his death in 1953 until October 31, 1961, when Stalin was removed as part of de-Stalinization and Khrushchev's Thaw, and buried in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis outside the walls of the Kremlin.
Lenin's body was to have been transferred to the Pantheon upon its completion but the project was cancelled in the aftermath of de-Stalinization.
Moscow mosque opens its doors to non-Muslims
(28 Mar 2016) LEAD IN:
An open day at Moscow's Cathedral Mosque has attracted a large crowd.
Both Muslims and non-Muslims had the opportunity to explore the building and its artefacts.
The mosque, which recently reopened after years of restoration and renovation, hopes to become a centre of social and religious life for Muslims in the Russian capital.
STORY-LINE:
The gleaming domes and spires are a recent addition to Moscow's skyline.
Moscow's new Cathedral Mosque was opened to the public late last year.
And today the mosque has opened its doors to non-Muslims.
A long queue gathers at a display case. Inside there's an important artefact - the 'Hair of Mohammed'.
This was a gift from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov when the mosque opened in October, 2015.
The mosque's leaders believe this building is important for the country's Muslims.
The mosque is a kind of spiritual shelter, where a person either turns into nothing or is revived. The Moscow Mosque is the main mosque in the whole of Russia. It is a central mosque and it attracts many people, and today we wish to have more non-Muslims here, says Eldar Alliutdinov, Imam of Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
He says Russia's 20 million Muslims live alongside the predominantly Christian population in harmony.
Muslims in Russia are not aliens, they are not people who appeared here a hundred years ago. They are natives, and even many historians argue about this - about who was here on this land earlier, says Alliutdinov.
Muslims or non-Muslims, without divisions along the lines of nationality, have been living next to each other from time immemorial, they live as neighbours. It's true, there were different times - you can have a look at history. But this is not the situation we see in Europe or in America (where there are divisions).
Around two million Muslims now live in Moscow, after an influx from the North Caucasus republics of southern Russia, Azerbaijan and the former Soviet states in Central Asia.
The city also has long had a sizeable Tatar minority.
Part of the day's programme is a Quran reading competition, where children under 14 put their skills to the test.
A crowd gathers to hear the children perform and amongst them a regular visitor to the mosque – Mohammed.
In general there is no such thing as persecution (of Muslims) as some people say. I live, I'm a Muslim. Everything is very peaceful, no one bothers me. What's important is to be a good man, a moral man, and there will be no problems whatsoever, he says.
There are extremist movements - but don't go there, don't become a radical. Live as a common man lives. Have common sense. Everything is very good. No one interferes, no one oppresses.
Also on offer is a guided tour around the mosque, a chance for visitors to learn more about the building and its artefacts.
And Moscow businessman Hadji Ilhomidin Kadirov has come here to pray with his family.
The new mosque has transformed the way he worships.
Everybody knows that 10 to 15 years ago - it's impossible to imagine now - a billion Muslims in the world knew that when we prayed, marked Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha), or took part in Ramadan, we sat in the street, on the pavement and prayed under rain and in slush and in snow, he says.
But today the almighty has given us an opportunity such as a multi-storied, beautiful mosque where we can pray, both on regular days and on Fridays.
Brightly coloured pictures of mosques are displayed on easels in one room of the building.
The artworks are produced by children who are busy working away on their masterpieces.
Away from the events of the open-day, prayers continue as usual.
Built on the site of a smaller, more than 100-year-old mosque destroyed in 2011, it can accommodate 10,000 worshippers.

Music : MY LONELY LIFE by Obladi Obladoo
Moscow is the capital and most populous city of the Russian Federation, with 12.2 million residents within the city limits and 16.8 million within the urban area. Moscow has the status of a Russian federal city.
Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific center of Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest city entirely on the European continent. By broader definitions Moscow is among the world's largest cities, being the 14th largest metro area, the 18th largest agglomeration, the 15th largest urban area, and the 11th largest by population within city limits worldwide. According to Forbes 2013, Moscow has been ranked as the ninth most expensive city in the world by Mercer and has one of the world's largest urban economies, being ranked as an alpha global city according to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and is also one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world according to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megacity and metropolis on Earth. It is home to the Ostankino Tower, the tallest free standing structure in Europe; the Federation Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Europe; and the Moscow International Business Center. By its territorial expansion on July 1, 2012 southwest into the Moscow Oblast, the area of the capital more than doubled, going from 1,091 to 2,511 square kilometers (421 to 970 sq mi), and it gained an additional population of 233,000 people.
Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia, making it the world's most populated inland city. The city is well known for its architecture, particularly its historic buildings such as Saint Basil's Cathedral with its brightly colored domes. With over 40 percent of its territory covered by greenery, it is one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world, having the largest forest in an urban area within its borders—more than any other major city—even before its expansion in 2012.
The city has served as the capital of a progression of states, from the medieval Grand Duchy of Moscow and the subsequent Tsardom of Russia to the Russian Empire to the Soviet Union and the contemporary Russian Federation. Moscow is considered the center of Russian culture, having served as the home of Russian artists, scientists and sports figures and because of the presence of museums, academic and political institutions and theaters.
Moscow is the seat of power of the Government of Russia, being the site of the Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is today the residence for work of the President of Russia. The Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are also one of several World Heritage Sites in the city. Both chambers of the Russian parliament (the State Duma and the Federation Council) also sit in the city.
The city is served by a transit network, which includes four international airports, nine railway terminals, numerous trams, a monorail system and one of the deepest underground rapid transit SYSTEMS in the world, the Moscow Metro, the fourth-largest in the world and largest outside of Asia in terms of passenger numbers, and the busiest in Europe. It is recognized as one of the city's landmarks due to the rich architecture of its 200 stations.
Moscow has acquired a number of epithets, most referring to its size and preeminent status within the nation: The Third Rome (Третий Рим), The Whitestone One (Белокаменная), The First Throne (Первопрестольная), The Forty Forties (Сорок Сороков), and The Hero City (город-герой). In old Russian the word Сорок (forty) also meant a church administrative district, which consisted of about forty churches. The demonym for a Moscow resident is москвич (moskvich) for male or москвичка (moskvichka) for female, rendered in English as Muscovite. (WIKIPEDIA source)
Leisure and Recriation VDNKh Park in Moscow // Russia Travel Guide on #DifferentRussia
We go to Leisure and Recriation VDNKh Park in Moscow. VDNKh is located in Ostankinsky District of Moscow, less than a kilometer from Ostankino Tower. It is served by VDNKh subway station, as well as by Moscow Monorail. Cosmonauts Alley and the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman statue are situated just outside the main entrance to VDNKh. It also borders Moscow Botanical Garden and a smaller Ostankino Park, and in recent years the three parks served as a united park complex.

Tverskaya Street (Russian: Тверская улица), known as Gorky Street (Russian: улица Горького) between 1935 and 1990, is the main and probably best-known radial street in Moscow. The street runs Northwest from the central Manege Square in the direction of Saint Petersburg and terminates at the Garden Ring, giving the name to Tverskoy District. The route continues further as First Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street, Leningradsky Avenue and Leningradskoye Highway.

My Visit To Verba Mayr Wellness Spa in Moscow
Hello! My Tribe,
A sprawling metropolis of well over 15 million people and the capital of the world’s biggest country, the city of Moscow in Russia was on my bucket list for the longest time. Moscow is one of those destinations that always gave me the impression of must-see. From world-class architecture to a wealth of history and culture, this city is one that every fervent traveller wants to visit in their lifetime. Moscow is rich in history for its Soviet past, while also boasts of European living. Parts of the city will have you travelling back in time, whilst on the other hand, with sports, theatres, shopping, and historical monuments, you’ll have no time to be bored! Interestingly, in the late 1230's, 1571 and 1812, the city of Moscow was burned to the ground. So you can say, that it’s the city that’s risen like a phoenix from the ashes! And that’s one fact about Moscow that got me really interested to visit this city, when airarabia and air Arabia holidays my travel partner, chose this city as my next travel destination. I was thrilled
So I started my journey from Sharjah airport… Air Arabia and its services(haven’t written coz already written before). Once I landed on the Moscow airport, Air Arabia team at Moscow was there to receive me with a big welcome board and their warm hospitality. From airport we started for Verba Mayr, which is a wellness spa resort located in the suburbs of Moscow. It generally takes one and a half hour to reach Verba Mayr from the airport, but since we met with traffic on our way, we took two hours to reach the resort. While we were on our way to Verba Mayr.
Asi said earlier Russia was on my bucket list for the longest time and it was a place that had always intrigued me with its rich history, its beautiful, landmarks and most importantly, its gorgeous delicate yet strong women. I once had a pen friend from Moscow, who would send me pictures and details about Moscow, and since then I have always been curious as well as excited to visit Moscow. Traveling has always been one of my major passions in life! I feel traveling is education. It opens the doors to your mind and heart and makes you a better person with every experience that comes your way. There is a lot in this world to explore and traveling helps you look at the bigger picture. Ever since I remember, I love to travel. It’s something I want to keep doing until the end and I am never bored of it. Thanks to Air Arabia I was getting this wonderful opportunity to travel. Watching the roads and taking in the feel of the city throughout the drive, I finally reached Verba Mayr.
The next day, I woke up at Verba Mayr. The health center is located in a picturesque forest zone 30 km along the Yaroslavl highway. Verba Mayr offers its guests a rejuvenation and detox program based on the well-known methods of the prominent Austrian physician Franz Xavier Mayr (1875-1965). Dr. F.X. Mayr found that long-term health stems from a healthy gut. The Mayr doctors expanded the principles of Dr. F.X Mayr to create Modern Mayr Medicine and opened up clinics with holistic treatments, fresh air, and mineral-rich waters to ensure exceptional health for guests.
I woke up and had a lovely breakfast which consisted of Bukhwheat porridge, almond milk, buckwheat bread, and avocado spread. Moscow in October gets really cold and rainy, which was something I didn’t know about, so for some respite, I went to the tea lounge to have a hot cup of tea. The tea lounge was beautiful, surrounded by lush green trees and manicured lawns. So, as I sipped my tea, I felt calm looking around the greenery.
Watch the full video to experience it all with me.
Love and Health
