Nagasaki Cruise Port Terminal Tour, Information & Walk to Glover Gardens (4K)
See what it is like in the Nagasaki International Cruise Ship Terminal at Matsugae-Pier Japan. We were at the Nagasaki cruise port as part of our 14 Day Asia cruise on the Majestic Princess (盛世公主号). This port was the most time-consuming and complicated in terms of going through immigration/customs. As you can see in the video, you need to complete a visitor's card and a customs card prior to arrival. Like some of the other ports on this cruise, even if you are not getting off the ship, you are required to go into the terminal building and pass immigration by 10:30 AM. The cruise ship company takes care of the passport portion for guests, but you are still required to submit your fingerprint and go through scanners. The Japanese certain is taking security very seriously, which is good, but as a guest you should be expected for a 30+ minute wait. The money changing station at inside the cruise terminal is very busy as well- so you can save time if you had Japanese yen exchanged ahead of time, e.g. in a previous port.
The great thing about the Nagasaki port is that there is free wi-fi, plus plenty of information for tourists inside. You can find maps, info on trams, and even a self-guided walking tour. We had done research on Nagasaki and decided to walk to the beautiful from port. It only took about 15 minutes, though you do have to go uphill and walk up stairs. Once there, the views of the surroundings are spectacular, as are the beautiful flowers at the garden.
Also there were plenty of shopping opportunities right inside and outside the Nagasaki cruise ship terminal building with plenty of local Japanese vendors selling goods such as silk scarfs, silk socks, snacks, traditional attire, dolls, art and more.
This was part of our March 2018 Asia Cruise vlog on the Princess Cruises Majestic Princess ship. Please feel free to comment or ask any questions and we'd be happy to answer!

Peace Boat's Ocean Dream on The Way to Japan
Peace Boat's Ocean Dream call in Manzanillo, Mexico, on the way to Japan!
The Ocean Dream is the new Peace Boat cruise ship, but first we had to take her from Brazil to Japan. Our trip started in Recife, on the Brazilian coast where the Ocean Dream was sailing under the Pullmantur flag, passed by Curaçao in the Netherlands Antilles (Caribbean), Colon and Balboa (including the crossing of the Panama Canal) and Manzanillo, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, which is the city I show on this video. This was our last port of call before arriving in Fukuoka, Japan.
ピースボートの新しいクルーズ船
The End Poverty 2015 is a UN world campaign. The Ocean Dream will be doing Open Houses in Japan already with the logo, in Fukuoka (Hakata), Kobe, Nagoya and Yokohama, where she departs in 08 May 2012 for the first around the world trip with Peace Boat.

Tsunami disaster - young apprentices help rebuild fisherman's ruined business ++REPLAY++
LEADIN
The fishing industry in Northern Japan is still struggling with the challenges of recovering from the earthquake and tsunami disaster of 2011.
One fisherman has spent the last three years rebuilding his oyster farm.
Now, he's enlisted the help of a handful of young apprentices in the hope they'll bring some much-needed fresh blood to the industry.
STORYLINE
Like thousands of fishermen along the Pacific coastline of Northern Japan, oyster farmer Hiromitsu Itou lost his home, his fishing boats, and his farm of oysters to the tsunami of 2011.
With much of the distribution routes and fish markets still to be rebuilt, many fisheries are struggling to survive,
But Itou is one of a small group of fishermen who are charting new paths with the hopes of expanding their business.
Having taken over his father's oyster farm in Ogatsu around a decade ago, Itou had just taken out a loan for new equipment when the quake hit.
With nothing remaining after the tsunami, he had to start his entire business from scratch, but he did so in a way unheard of in a small town known for passing the legacy of fishing down through generations.
Itou and a handful of business partners in the fishing industry formed their own company, and started selling straight to customers online and raising money through memberships.
The money raised meant some local fishermen could rebuild - and for Itou, an opportunity to expand his direct sales - a rarity in an industry which usually relies on a tradition of customs and rules.
This year is the real deal, it's the make-it-or break-it year. I think we do have the marketing power, but I want to expand on that and go head on, says Itou.
Many people say we're in the phase of reconstruction, but we're really still in recovery phase - we're still far off from reconstructing. Real reconstruction will take 5 or 10 years, and then perhaps then, we may be able to look back and say I'm glad I worked hard back then - that's what reconstruction is.
To expand operations, Itou has enlisted the help of a handful of young city dwellers - one of them being his own nephew.
23-year-old Yuuki Miura had no plans to follow in his family's footsteps and was training to become a cook in Sendai city when the quake struck.
The devastation prompted him to rethink his role in keeping the family business - he left his job just 8 months after the quake struck to join his uncle.
When I was small, I lived with my grandfather and I grew up watching him work. But the tsunami came right after the business was handed over to his next generation - and so I thought, I have to help. says Miura.
The quake hasn't just brought one local youngster back into the industry, it's spurred a host of industry outsiders to get involved.
31-year-old Mitsuhiro Inoue worked as a forklift operator at a warehouse in Sendai city for more than 10 years, before an acquaintance introduced him to part-time fishery work - a position which turned full time last July.
Still less than a year into the job, he's hoping to do more.
I'd like to try and haul the oysters myself - but I don't have a license yet, so all I can do is to get on the boat with them, he says.
28-year-old Sendai city native, Takayuki Yokota, was jobless when he met Itou at an oyster festival.
A former baseball player, Yokota says he felt the younger generation had their part to play in sustaining the area's fishing industry.
He claims fishermen - like Itou - are often stubborn and not always the best at marketing when dealing directly with restaurant managers.
I think we're right in the middle - in the sense that we can be a bridge between the wishes of fishermen and wishes of restaurants, and by doing so expand on marketing and find more clients, he says.

Turkish Food Tour in Istanbul - BEST Kebabs of My Life, AMAZING Seafood, and Turkish Ice Cream!
►Check out my Istanbul Travel Food Guide:
►Subscribe to my videos:
►Camera gear I use:
The first thing we did in the morning in Istanbul was drive over to Beşiktaş to eat an amazing Turkish food breakfast at a restaurant called Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu. From there we took the ferry across the Bosphorus to Kadiköy, where we had an incredible Turkish seafood meal for lunch. Finally, we enjoyed some Turkish ice cream, and the show, and had the most incredible kebab I’ve ever had in my life at Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. It was an amazing day of Turkish food in Istanbul!
1:27 Turkish breakfast at Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu - For breakfast we headed to Beşiktaş, one of my favorite areas of Istanbul, and went to a restaurant known for serving breakfast. The breakfast was amazing, and I ate a dish of eggs with beef and butter. The side dishes were also fantastic. Total price - 29 TL ($9.73)
7:40 Boat to Kadiköy and Kadiköy Market - During our trip so far to Istanbul, we hadn’t had a chance to go to the Asian side of Istanbul. So today, we took the ferry over to Kadiköy pier on the Asian side across the Bosphorus. The views of Istanbul from the Bosphorus were stunning. On the other side, the main thing I wanted to do was explore Kadiköy Market, which was every bit as colorful as I had imagined. The fresh vegetables and seafood were fantastic, and I tried a cup of pickle juice.
1 Week Ago in Mumbai:
12:45 Seafood lunch at Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant - Of all the meals I ate in Istanbul, this was one of my personal favorites, being a seafood lover. Not a far walk from the market, we went to a local family run seafood restaurant called Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant. The owners were really friendly, and I ordered a plate of hamsi (which are anchovies), and I’m not sure of the name of the other dish, but I got Black Sea salmon braised in olive oil and butter I think with herbs and spices. It was one of the best Turkish foods I ate the entire trip to Istanbul. Wow, it was amazing.
20:50 Turkish Ice Cream - After spending some time exploring the Asian side of Istanbul, we took the ferry back to the European side, and since Istiklal Street was on our route, we stopped to have Turkish ice cream. You also see Turkish ice cream vendors playing with their customers, but when you’re the victim, it’s so confusing and funny. They have some serious skills playing with Turkish ice cream. Do you like Turkish ice cream?
23:49 Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant - For our final Turkish food meal of the day, we headed over to Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. Ocakbaşı is a type of Turkish grill, and they served all sorts of different meat included kebabs and lamb chops in particular. We also got a bunch of side dishes and they cooked the kebabs and lamb chops right in front of us within the center of the restaurant. The kebab was the best I’ve ever had in my mouth, with an amazing mixture of minced meat and spices. Total price - 100 TL ($33.55). Thank you to David from for the recommendation.

SUMMARY
=======
Tianjin ([tʰjɛ́n.tɕín] (listen)), formerly romanized as Tientsin, is a coastal metropolis in northern China and one of the nine national central cities of the People's Republic of China (PRC), with a total population of 15,469,500, and is also the world's 11th-most populous city proper. It is governed as one of the four municipalities under the direct administration of central government of the PRC and is thus under direct administration of the central government. Tianjin borders Hebei Province and Beijing Municipality, bounded to the east by the Bohai Gulf portion of the Yellow Sea. Part of the Bohai Economic Rim, it is the largest coastal city in northern China.
In terms of urban population, Tianjin is the fourth largest in China, after Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. In terms of administrative area population, Tianjin ranks fifth in Mainland China. The walled city of Tianjin was built in 1404. As a treaty port since 1860, Tianjin has been a major seaport and gateway to Beijing. During the Boxer Rebellion the city was the seat of the Tianjin Provisional Government. Under the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China, Tianjin became one of the largest cities in the region. At that time, numerous European-style buildings and mansions were constructed in concessions, many of which are well-preserved today. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Tianjin suffered a depression due to the policy of the central government and Tangshan earthquake, but recovered from 1990s. Nowadays Tianjin is a dual-core city, with its main urban area (including the old city) located along the Hai River, which connects to the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers via the Grand Canal; and Binhai, a New Area urban core located east of the old city, on the coast of the Bohai Gulf. As of the end of 2010, around 285 Fortune 500 companies have set up base in Binhai.

5. Begunkodor railway station - India
The village has a railway station that remained closed for 42 years after rumors of it being haunted. According to the villagers, in 1967, a railway employee reported the sighting of a woman's ghost, and it was rumored that she had died in a railway accident. After a few weeks, the same railway employee mysteriously died and all the railway staff abandoned the station in fear. Basudeb Acharia said that railway employees had made up the story to avoid being posted there. In the late 1990s the villagers formed a committee and asked the officials to reopen the station. About a decade later, in August 2009, the railway station was reopened as a passenger train halt.
4. Addiscombe station - England
Addiscombe railway station was a terminus to the east of central Croydon, on Lower Addiscombe Road between Hastings Road and Grant Road. The East India Way housing development stands on the site.
It was built with three platforms with extensive canopies, a fairly large station building and concourse, but the station was slowly run down. In 1956 platform 3 was closed and removed, and the goods yard closed in 1968. Through trains to London were withdrawn and the service reduced to a shuttle service to and from Elmers End. In 1993 the carriage depot was closed and around the same time the station became unstaffed with a PERTIS ticket machine outside the entrance.
When the signal box was burnt down in 1996 the line was reduced to single track and only platform 2 was used. The last train (an enthusiasts' railtour) was on the evening of Saturday 31 May 1997, which also visited the West Croydon–Wimbledon line, also closed that day.
After closure the station lay derelict until its demolition in 2001.

An additional track was opened to the west of the station in 1995 as part of the Glenfield - Ingleburn passing loop.[2] This unelectrified track was used by freight and long distance passenger trains. In December 2012, the track was incorporated into the Southern Sydney Freight Line and became freight only.

SUMMARY
=======
The East African Campaign (also known as the Abyssinian Campaign) was fought in East Africa during World War II by Allied forces, mainly from the British Empire, against Axis forces, primarily from Italy of Italian East Africa (Africa Orientale Italiana or AOI), between June 1940 and November 1941. Forces of the British Middle East Command, including units from the United Kingdom and the colonies of British East Africa, British Somaliland, British West Africa, the Indian Empire, Northern Rhodesia, Nyasaland, Mandatory Palestine, South Africa, Southern Rhodesia and Sudan participated in the campaign. Ethiopian irregulars, the Free French and the Belgian Force Publique also participated.
The AOI was defended by Italian forces of the Comando Forze Armate dell'Africa Orientale Italiana (Italian East African Armed Forces Command), with units from the Regio Esercito (Italian army), Regia Aeronautica (air force) and Regia Marina (navy), about 200,000 Regio Corpo Truppe Coloniali from Italian-occupied Abyssinia (Ethiopia), Italian Eritrea and Italian Somaliland, led by Italian officers and NCOs, 70,000 Italian regulars and reservists. The Compagnia Autocarrata Tedesca (German Motorised Company) fought under Italian command.
Hostilities began on 13 June 1940, with an Italian air raid on the base of 1 Squadron Southern Rhodesian Air Force (237 (Rhodesia) Squadron RAF) at Wajir in the East Africa Protectorate (Kenya) and continued until Italian forces had been pushed back from Kenya and Sudan, through Somaliland, Eritrea and Ethiopia in 1940 and early 1941. The remnants of the Italian forces in the AOI surrendered after the Battle of Gondar in November 1941, except for small groups that fought a guerrilla war in Ethiopia against the British until the Armistice of Cassibile (3 September 1943) ended hostilities between Italy and the Allies. The East African Campaign was the first Allied strategic victory in the war but was overshadowed by the British defeats in the Battle of Greece and the Battle of Crete.
