History: The Pilgrims Journey Documentary
Impacts of the English in the New World ( Pilgrims )
Some 100 people, many of them seeking religious freedom in the New World, set sail from England on the Mayflower in September 1620. That November, the ship landed on the shores of Cape Cod, in present-day Massachusetts. A scouting party was sent out, and in late December the group landed at Plymouth Harbor, where they would form the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England. These original settlers of Plymouth Colony are known as the Pilgrim Fathers, or simply as the Pilgrims.

The Story of Liberty Radio Broadcast
The Monumental movie / Kirk Cameron -Apr 09, 2011 show
The central theme of the Monumental documentary film is that the Liberty man and women, or freedom man as former President Ronald Reagan called him, is the only liberator capable of bringing back lasting liberty to America or any nation in the world.
From the beginning of the film the desire for freedom is seen as a universal aspiration of all men. As the rock anthem proclaims -- People everywhere just want to be free.
Whether we portray the uprising of the gladiators in Spartacus or in The Gladiator, or in the French Revolution we observe that none of these revolts resulted in lasting liberty. Those in revolt had no higher law (God's Law) to appeal and no system to put in place to keep one of their own from rising to enslave the people.
Monumental film uncovers the road to lasting liberty and the forgotten road map of freedom that needs decoding in our time. Why was America unique? What was the secret that led to lasting liberty under law?
What kind of individual was forged in Europe and unleashed in America who could bind the tyrants down with the chains of the Constitution as Thomas Jefferson said.
This is accomplishment and unfolds as we understand that a new kind of hero was emerging in Europe, especially in England and Scotland. He was not primarily a conqueror, although he conquered tyrants. He was
not the typical loner anti-hero portrayed in film who does it his way, yet he often stood alone, often only with his family, against entire nations. He accomplished liberation not through the killing of others, but through dying himself if necessary to stand for the eternal principals of right, those laws given at Mt. Sinai.
The Liberty man's legacy is pure and his legend rings into eternity. Liberty man's lineage comes down through: Patrick, the liberator of Ireland; Alfred the Great who codified English common law and loved
his wife and her only; Rev. Langton, who wrote Magna Carta, the constitution of England, which held down the king's power and called for freedom under law; William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, who called for Scotland's freedom from tyrannical power; John Wycliffe
who stood against King and prelate and declared the Word to be pre- eminent over worldly power; The Scottish Covenanters, both men and women, who signed the National Covenant, to raise their children in the Truth, not the King's propaganda; The brave Dutch who stood for
their faith against overwhelming odds as the Spanish threatened them with extinction; The Pilgrims who took the blood bought truth and embodied it for an entire nation, leaving us the blueprint to find our way home to God; And the Founders who codified Christian principles
into the world's finest, biblical civil documents.
The message of this film is so powerful and proven in history. Either we as individuals will follow the path or as Winston Churchill said about England in the early twentieth century, see the walkway of civilization give way beneath our feet and we fall into the abyss

Old Connecticut Path: Reconnecting the Path with the Heritage of Families and Our Nation
Rediscovering the Old Connecticut Path is much more than a story about places. The Path travels through places of great natural beauty and historic significance in their own right. But, there is a much bigger story to be told about the heritage of the families who traveled the Path and their contributions to the heritage of our country. These stories have been too big to tell in previous short videos. The live 47 minute presentation is a first step towards telling the larger story of families and what they did for our nation. Thanks to the Windham (CT) County Conservation Consortium for providing the opportunity to put the pieces of this great story together!
As early as 1633-36, the migration from Massachusetts Bay at Boston/Cambridge west to Connecticut began following the Old Connecticut Path. John Oldham followed the Path to the Connecticut valley in 1633 followed by the Watertown, MA congregation in 1635 to settle Wethersfield, CT. Reverend John Wareham and the Dorchester congregation followed the Path in 1635 to settle Windsor, CT. Reverend Thomas Hooker and his entire congregation walked along the Old Connecticut Path for two weeks across the wilderness in 1636 from Cambridge, MA to establish Hartford, CT. Join me for a walk and use your imagination to experience the landscape traveled by the pioneers of the 1600s.

The First 50 Years: An Untold Story
The evolution of the free mind. Connie Baxter Marlow traces the path of the Mayflower Pilgrims/Separatists who defied their king to follow their conscience and establish a society based upon the right of individuals to choose their leaders and course of action, as defined in The Mayflower Compact. Fifty years of peace and friendship with the Wampanoag Indians, and the melding of ideas with the Iroquois Great Law laid the foundation for a great nation to evolve. One that has yet to live up to its highest potential.
Two visionary leaders Massasoit/Wampanoag and William Bradford/Pilgrim saw their common humanity and kept their people in peace for a generation. When asked how he dared come into Indian country to bring a life-saving remedy to the dying Massasoit Edward Winslow responded: Where was true love, there was no fear and my heart was so upright towards them, that for mine own part I was fearless to come amongst them. excerpt from Good News from New England by Edward Winslow. Chapter 4.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 2010
The History of Pilgrims, Mayflower, Thanksgiving Animated Guide
The History of The Pilgrim Fathers and Thanksgiving for Kids
The Pilgrims sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to reach North America. They sailed on a ship named the Mayflower.
On December 11, 1620, the first Pilgrims (or Puritans, as they were first known) landed at Plymouth Rock.
By the fall of 1621, only half of the pilgrims, who had sailed on the Mayflower, survived. The survivors, thankful to be alive, decided to prepare a thanksgiving feast.
The first Thanksgiving feast lasted 3 days and was held in the presence of around ninety Wampanoag Indians and the Wampanoag chief, Massasoit, was also invited. The drink that the Puritans brought with them on the Mayflower was beer.

A Trip to New England, 1940's - Film 6004
New England, U.S.A.
Lakes, water sports, canoes, water chutes, girl canoeing race, pony trekking, wild deer. Winter sports, skiing, husky sledge. Women, game fishing. Cape Cod's farm over Plymouth Rock, Old North Church, Lexington battlefield, Old Bridge at Concord, Boston, Boston Cannon, multi people swan pedaloes. Sailing. Gloucester, fishing port, artists at work. Trawlers at work. Lobster pots off Maine. The beaches, windjammer sailing ships. Rural life in U.S.A.
'Today, holiday makers enjoy themselves were Pilgrims ventured 300 years ago.' A children's summer camp in the woods of the east coast United States, there are canoes drawn up on the shore and a wharf going out into the lake for swimmers. There is a small sailboat out in the lake, children are walking on the wharf or going to get a canoe. Girls with bathing caps dive off the wharf, there is a floating platform with two levels of diving platforms a little distance into the lake, it is crowded with children, some of them diving off it. Funny shot of the swimming platform with the kids swimming from it as a girl balances on the back of a canoe rocking it forward and back, moving it forward across the screen. Two canoes face each other, each with two boys in it, one boy stands on the front of the boat and they have a chicken fight, one of the canoes tips over.
'Water sports galore'. A really cool water slide that pairs of children go down on sleds that skip across the water. A crowd lines the shore as eight women canoe teams race up the lake, with a cox in the back steering. Good views from the side and looking straight down the canoe from an angle above front. 'And horseback trails of beauty.' A group of children ride horses on path through the forest. The horses trot and the riders post. 'Wildlife is abundant'. Deer walk across a narrow bridge over water. A moose, flapping it ears and walking on its tall legs through the water, it eats eater plants as it goes.
' When winter comes thousands gather for snow thrills!' A bizarre chair lift that is like a miniature train but with individual cars and people get in with their skis and sit sideways. Shots of people skiing, men, women, one shot of people stopping sharply as they get to the cabin at the bottom of the hill. Dog sledding with huskies.
'But the call of spring is irresistible to the true fisherman.' Girls with their fishing baskets around their waists, wearing hipwaders and fly fishing. One pool with all their lines in it. One girl puts a fish in her basket. A hooked fish wriggles in the river as the fisherman reels him in. The man holds up the fish in the net.
'The historic Cape Cod, town of Provincetown, still boasts a town crier!' View from the sea, of Cape Cod. The town crier walks along the pier, ringing his huge bell, people walk around him.
'Plymouth Rock, where America Began.' the pilgrim's memorial at Plymouth Rock. 1620, marked on a rock. 'Old North Church, immortalized by Paul Revere'. The steeple of the Old North Church with the statue of Paul Revere in front of it.
'At Lexington Battlefield, the redcoats faced an insolent rebellion.' the battlefield outside the Lexington town hall. The stone where Captain Parker's words are engraved. ' Old Bridge at Concord, turning point of the rebellion.' A very new looking wooden bridge over a small river. The statue of the Minute man.
'Boston, here 300 years ago and area was set aside as a common pasture, the Boston Common.' Aerial view of the Boston Common, covered with trees. A busy street beside the common, large 1920's or 30s cars drive along the road.
'Adjacent are the Public Gardens, nestling the shadow of New England's tallest building, the Custom's House'. Tourists are moved around in peddle boats, they sit on benches while the man sits on a chair disguised as a swan on the back and peddles.
'Marblehead, the down -east yachtsmen's paradise.' Sailboats out on the sea, almost all identical with their two white sails. The boats are not big. 'Gloucester, world-renowned heart of the deep sea fishing industry.' Seagulls fly around the masts of three fishing boats, with crows nest high up. Three boats coming into harbour.
Throughout New England, summer artists' colonies abound.' Amateur painters paint at their easels on the docks of the fishing village.
John Butman: New World, Inc. - The Making of America by England's Merchant [...] | Talks at Google
Who really founded America, and why? And when? And what does founding really mean when it comes to a country or society?
Was it the Pilgrims who founded America in 1620? Not really. Was it all about religious freedom as we've been taught? Not exactly.
The focus by Europeans on America started as early as 1550, and developed through more than seventy years of high-risk commercial ventures, driven primarily by an amazing group of English merchants, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, technologists, mariners, and artists.
Why does it matter who the original makers of America were?
Because what they learned in the process we need more of today: shared purpose, big imagination, and opportunity for all.
John Butman writes and speaks about business as a social science and is co-author of NEW WORLD, INC.: The Making of America by England's Merchant Adventurers.

The New (Thanks to an Native American Holiday) please comment:) Thumbs Up:)))
It is Massasoit and his people that we should all be thanking of and thankful for on this day, as well as, all the Native Americans that assisted the colonist and gave up their lives and land for us. Also remember the 400-700 Pequot Natives that were slaughtered by having their village surrounded at night by the colonist and set a blaze while they slept. Waiting outside were the colonist and two other tribes that mistaking allied with them. the colonist then fired on anyone who tried to escaped flee the flames. The attack was so brutal that almost everyone that was shot and still living or cleared the gantlet of bullets were killed by slashing them to pieces with swords. The most horrific piece of history is they were all Babies, Toddlers, Children, Women and The elderly, The able bodied men were away on a raiding party and came home to be horrified and enraged, The next two days two other Pequot villages were attacked with the same results. This was the end of the Pequots as people except for a few that fled to join other tribes. Today they have happily made a come back to reclaim their notoriety and honor of state and federal recognition. What was said at the time about the event is below of the period around 1638:
The Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, John Winthrop, called the plague miraculous. In 1634, he wrote to a friend in England:
But for the natives in these parts, God hath so pursued them, as for 300 miles space the greatest part of them are swept away by the small pox which still continues among them. So as God hath thereby cleared our title to this place, those who remain in these parts, being in all not fifty, have put themselves under our protect...
The ugly truth is that many Pilgrims were thankful and grateful that the Native population was decreasing. Even worse, there was the Pequot Massacre in 1637, which started after the colonists found a murdered white man in his boat. Ninety armed settlers burned a Native village, along with their crops, and then demanded the Natives to turn in the murderers. When the Natives refused, a massacre followed.
Captain John Mason and his colonist army surrounded a fortified Pequot village and reportedly shouted: We must burn them! Such a dreadful terror let the Almighty fall upon their spirits that they would flee from us and run into the very flames. Thus did the Lord Judge the heathen, filling the place with dead bodies. The surviving Pequot were hunted and slain.
The Governor of Plymouth, William Bradford, further elaborates:
Those that escaped the fire were slain with the sword; some hewed to pieces, others run through with the rapiers, so that they were quickly dispatched and very few escaped. It was conceived they thus destroyed about 400 at this time. It was a fearful sight to see them thus frying in the fire...horrible was the stink and scent thereof, but the victory seemed a sweet sacrifice, and they gave the prayers thereof to God, who had wrought so wonderfully for them.
