The #1 Best Okinawa Bus Tour & the Strange Pineapple Park
I hope you enjoyed this video! I think this is the longest it's ever taken me to edit a video I had over 30 minutes of pure footage so hopefully it was worth it and you guys got a lot of good information from it! Honestly if I could redo it I would probably just pick ocean expo park and pineapple park and spend a whole day doing those because the tour was a bit rushed because there were so many stops. So maybe don't do the bus tour and just explore with a friend if you want to do that instead! You will need to rent a car to get over to the north side of okinawa though since there are few buses that go over there. Feel free to ask any other questions! Next vlog I'm going to be going to an owl and cat cafe on kokusai dori (downtown okinawa) so look forward to it ^-^

Nago Pineapple park
You may be wondering “What’s so good about a pineapple park?” Well, my friends, let me tell you. This is one of the weirdest, most fun days out I’ve had here. Let me impart some pineapple infused wisdom to you all.
Where Is It?
Well, the name (sort of) gives it away. It’s close to Nago. Not quite in the town, but only a short drive away.
Why Visit?
Why wouldn’t you? Pineapples! That was enough to convince me anyway (that, and pineapple flavored food… more on that later), but if you still need some convincing allow me to proceed. For starters, you can’t miss it; there are a large pineapple and a couple of smaller cheerful pineapple characters to greet you at the entrance (as well as a huge sign), which you can actually take pictures with on a little platform, so the adventure begins before you even part with your money.
At only 600 yen per person (less for children, seniors, and students), including the Jeep ride, it’s a snip. Purchase your tickets, head in and take a right so you can experience the Jeep ride first. After having your photo taken with some colorful decor, it’s time to hop into a pineapple shaped Jeep. It’s self-driven (sadly) on tracks, but there is a steering wheel so you could always pretend to steer and make race car noises, just don’t touch the other controls!
Handily, the automated guide comes in four languages: Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese. The person who sees you to your vehicle normally sets it automatically, but if you want any of the languages offered you just have to ask. Considering it’s on tracks, it’s a surprisingly smooth ride!
And it’s entertaining. You learn all about the park itself and how pineapples are grown, all the while taking a leisurely drive through the active growing fields. The first part of the ride takes you through a pretty tropical garden, so if you love flowers this is going to be right up your street. You’ll also spot the odd pineapple character hiding out (this would be a great spotting game to play with kids/ childish adults!). Grin for the first of two more photos (you get plenty of warning, just remember to look up when it tells you to), before snaking around and out to where the star of the show is born: the growing fields.
The next part of the park gives you a small break from pineapples and instead shows you something you wouldn’t expect to see in a park about tropical fruit: fossils and seashells.
Once you’ve perused this area, move on to probably the best part: Pineapple wine and food. You walk past a display on your left of lots and lots of wine bottles, and a display of brewing and manufacturing techniques on your right. Up ahead is wine tasting central. Just make sure you are legal age and not driving. The staffs are out to sell sell sell! So expect lots of over enthusiastic greetings and tempting offers to try different wines.
Moving on from wine to something everyone can enjoy: juices and food. Again, with the juice, there’s quite a few. Happily, I could partake and found them to be sweet and delicious. However, this was just the pre-game for the main event: food!
If I listed everything they offered, Okinawa Hai would need to set up another website. But it included jams, curry mixes, chocolates, candies, cakes, condiments, and of course, actual pineapples. More cheerful staff greet you with tasty samples (the cake especially is amazing) and great product knowledge, as well as a clever sales pitch. Wall to wall merchandise make it very hard to choose, so good luck.
I’d recommend getting whatever you desire for yourselves, then if you have family back home you wish to share the joy with, grab something with a long shelf life, like the cookies or chocolates.
The gift shop is pretty big and caters to everyone. There’s a wall of sake, stationery, fashion, kids stuff, plush toys, and the usual Okinawa- themed gifts (Shisa dogs, fake hibiscus flowers, and stuff with I love Okinawa written on it). We spent quite some time here, it’s colorful and pleasing if a bit tacky in places. They do have some cool gift ideas though. We came home with a mini pineapple in a pot. He (yes I named him: Pedro the pineapple, and I may have drawn a little face his pot) currently resides on a step outside our house.

My husband and I partnered up with the Okinawa Marriott for two nights while we were in Nago, Okinawa and it was such an incredible experience. We felt incredibly pampered during our stay and had the best time just hanging out at the hotel/taking photos/vidoes (it was actually very romantic). As a content creator, sometimes when we travel, we’re able to provide photos, video content & social media exposure/consulting in exchange for accommodation. It is a lot of work (which is why I’m talking so fast in this vlog lol), but it was totally worth it for this hotel. I hope you enjoy watching this hotel room tour vlog - see you in the next one! ✖✖ Audrie

// ABOUT ME //
A little bit about me - I'm a content creator on Instagram, YouTube, and on my blog at AudrieStorme.com living in Orange County, California (originally from the San Francisco Bay Area). I started posting outfit of the day (OOTD) photos on Instagram about two years ago when I was living in Dallas, Texas for work. I loved taking photos and posting on Instagram so much that I decided to expand and try out YouTube and blogging as well.
When I was living in the city, my personal style was a bit more streetwear 90's grunge, but now that I live in Southern California and closer to the ocean, my style has become a lot more cozy and comfortable with a lot of bohemian influences.
If I had to describe my fashion sense on my blog, Instagram aesthetic, and YouTube editing style now, I'd probably describe it as modern bohemian with an edge, since I tend to wear and do things that might be considered unconventional to others. I'm not sure if that is true, but since I've moved back to California, I just find that I gravitate to what is easiest and effortless for me while living near the beach where it always feels like summer.
Thank you so much for stopping by my YouTube channel and I hope that you enjoy what you'll find here! I love fashion, beauty (especially hair styling and bohemian braids), DIY projects and how to videos, making travel diaries of all the places that I'm lucky enough to visit, and sharing my (for lack of a better term) modern bohemian lifestyle. If you'd like to see more, please feel free to subscribe to my channel. Hope to see you in the comments below!

Dinosaur Park in Okinawa, Japan
In today's vlog, The Lovelys start off their saturday morning eating breakfast on Kadena Air Base at the Banyan tree! Surprise, surprise! They have made plans to go to Nago, Japan to visit the Dinosaur Park. However, the crazy weather has them on the fence about their decision. After breakfast, they make the decision to head towards Nago, Japan despite the crazy weather. The Lovelys love exploring and finding things to do in Okinawa, Japan. On the trip there, it keeps raining on and off again. The weather won't stop the Lovelys from enjoying some good family fun at an awesome theme park! The Lovelys finally arrive at the Dinosaur Park in Nago, Japan and it looks just like Jurassic Park! At first, the kids are afraid but we show them that these dinosaurs are for kids and not scary at all. Inside the dinosaur park, there are tyrannosaurus (t-rex), brachiosaurus (long necks), and even triceratops! Lacey and Cory feel like kids all over again because Dinosaur Park is very reminiscent of Jurassic Park, which they loved growing up.Theme parks are always so much fun! After Dinosaur Park, we head home and decide to go to Arashis for dinner . After dinner, we go to the seawall to a place called The Shack for some killer milkshakes. We watch the kids struggle to eat the giant milkshake. All in all it was a great family day! We hope you enjoy todays vlog!

CASE FILE #3: JAPAN - LOST SOULS OF OKINAWA 2/3
The elements in this story are a bizarre transnational mix: a US air base, on Japanese land, an American soldier reportedly involved in a homicide, sightings of a Japanese samurai ghost. Adding to the mystery was the fact that the haunted house in question, a military residence, wasn't even where it was supposed to be. It seems a thread must run through all these, a thread hidden from all but the most persistent of investigators.

DINO PARK-
The park is more like an overgrown forest with clear paths through it. There are ropes and roughly paved paths. I would highly recommend bringing your camera, bug spray, and water along with your hiking shoes.
The dinosaurs are mostly mechanical, so some make noises, some roar, spit water etc. It’s entertaining and the kids got a huge kick out of it. Even as someone who couldn’t keep a plant to save her life there was a lot to be admired in the obvious work they put into the foliage in the park. The flowers were bold and beautiful while the greenery gave a realistic feel of the prehistoric. It might have been my overly sensitive nose but the smell of flowers permeated the valley and was rather pleasant.

PINEAPPLE PARK
**VIDEO TOUR WILL BE UP SHORTLY***
At its peak of the production in Okinawa, about 100,000 tons of pineapples were harvested in 1969.However, the production went down due to the oil crisis and liberalization of frozen pineapple imports in the 1970's, due to expanding trade liberalization during (*2)the Uruguay Round in the 1990's.As of 2012, the production fell down to 6,000 tons which is only 6% of its peak. And there is a concern that the production may fall even more depending on how TPP talks go.At Nago Pineapple Park, we accept the reality. So that more people get to know about tasty Okinawa pineapples and we want it to spread out, we produce sweets, juice and wine made from pineapples. We cooperate and support each other with farmers in Okinawa to promote the Okinawa pineapple industry.
