Top 5 Things To Do in Playa del Carmen | What To Do in Playa del Carmen
Here are my personal Top 5 Things to do when you are coming down to Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen was put on the map because of the traffic of tourism attracted to Cancun, and eventually Playa del Carmen was going to be discovered. A few decades ago, Playa del Carmen, which is now one of the fastest growing towns in the world, was nothing more than a small fishing village. With the expansion of tourism along, what is now known as the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen has grown at an incredible rate, all thanks to tourism. As you can imagine, with tourism, influx of money and people, there is a strong need for things to do, activities and tourist attractions while in Playa del Carmen. Of course, it is known for the beaches but people these days want more than just sitting on a beach, especially when you are coming down for longer than a week, or an indefinite trip. This video explains my Top 5 What to do in Playa del Carmen.
Listed below are a number of other videos on this channel which show some other incredible things to do in the Playa del Carmen area and the Mayan Riviera in general.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO TRAVEL, PLAYA DEL CARMEN MEXICO
PLAYA DEL CARMEN, RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO TRAVEL, PLAYA DEL CARMEN MEXICO, Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico, along the Yucatán Peninsula's Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. In the state of Quintana Roo, it’s known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs. Its Quinta Avenida pedestrian thoroughfare runs parallel to the beach, with blocks of shops, restaurants and nightspots ranging from laid-back bars to dance clubs. Playa del Carmen (Spanish pronunciation: ['plaʝa ðel 'kaɾmen]) is a city located along the Caribbean Sea in the municipality of Solidaridad, in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is a popular tourist area in eastern Mexico. Playa del Carmen features a wide array of tourist activities due to its geographical location in the Riviera Maya. It has also been the destination of PGA Tour golf tournaments and the set location for various television shows. The town has become one of the fastest to grow in population size in Mexico. Playa del Carmen is located within the Riviera Maya, which runs from south of Cancún to Tulum and the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve. Playa is a stop for several cruise ships which dock at the nearby Calica quarry docks, about six miles (10 km) south of the city. The Xcaret Eco Park, a Mexican-themed eco-archaeological park, is a popular tourist destination located just south of the town in Xcaret (pronounced ish-kar-et). In October 2005, Hurricane Wilma passed directly over Playa del Carmen, remaining in the vicinity for two days and causing significant damage and a temporary drop in tourist arrivals. Most of the damage was relatively superficial and repaired within a few weeks of the storm. Hurricane Wilma arrived from the Caribbean Sea, passing over Cozumel before making landfall in Playa del Carmen. It then moved north along the Mexican coast, hitting Cancún especially hard. Originally a small fishing town, tourism to Playa del Carmen began with the passenger ferry service to Cozumel, an island across the Cozumel Channel and a world-famous scuba diving destination.
Playa del Carmen has recently undergone extreme rapid development with new luxury residential condominium buildings, restaurants, boutiques and entertainment venues. Tourist activity in Playa del Carmen centers on Quinta Avenida, or Fifth Avenue, which stretches from Calle 1 norte to Calle 40. A pedestrian walkway located just one or two blocks inland from the beach, Fifth Avenue is lined with hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants. There are many small boutique hotels on and just off Fifth Avenue and on the beach.
Playacar is a residential and tourist development in Playa del Carmen just south of the main urban area. Most of the all-inclusive hotels, the aviary and the golf course are located in this development. There are two phases – phase 1 is mostly residential with a few hotels and some stores, while phase 2 contains the largest all-inclusive resorts as well as the golf course and a significant number of residential properties.
Playa del Carmen is host to several major annual events. The largest of these was The BPM Festival, a world-famous electronic dance music festival which, up until recently, took place in January each year.
The Best of Playa Del Carmen
With a perfect location smack dab in between Cancún and Tulum, it’s no wonder Playa del Carmen is the third largest city in Quintana Roo and the fastest growing in Latin America.

Mexico Street Food Tour - Playa del Carmen
Took the fam for a guided tour to find some Authentic Street Eats around the City of Playa del Carmen.
I have to admit the food is so much better than the overpriced restaurants. That was not surprising to me, but what was surprising is seems almost no foreigners ventured outside of the beaten path. Really too bad as they're missing out! Plus it's always good to support the local community.
You can find info on the tour here

MEXICO TRIP 2019 TO PLAYA DEL CARMEN
HEY EVERYONE!!! I hope you guys are having an awesome day! This vlog was not the best but my camera kept fogging up and for some reason it was lagging and I couldn't figure it out. Most of the vlog are either pictures or videos from my iPhone so I'm sorry for the poor quality. We landed in Cancun and had a car from hotel services pick us up and we drove about 45 min to the hotel. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in the executive suites with the grand club access. The room gave us access to private check in and check out and also complimentary breakfast and hors d'oeuvres around dinner time. Although the room was beautiful and had amazing views they never let us know in advance that they were going to be doing construction next door. Every morning we heard the saw running it kinda sucked but it's ok it got us up and moving for the day lol. There were also humongous grasshopper things omg they were huge!!!!!. I guess those little suckers are seasonal so they come and go and they don't hurt you or bite but I was still creeped out by them. Thank you to all of you for watching and subscribing I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Playa del Carmen Mexico Riviera - Beaches, Mayan Ruins, Cenotes & More | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids
You're going to love Playa del Carmen… everyone does! It's a beautiful, quiet vacation paradise 45 minutes down the coast from the crowded Cancun scene in Mexico.
Playa del Carmen is known mainly for white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and a laid back bohemian vibe. Not too long ago it was a fishing village but has now become the #1 destination in Mexico.
There are so many fun things to do. The famous 5th avenue is a pedestrian walkway that runs through town and is lined with shops, restaurants, bars and palm trees with twinkly lights.
Right off the coast, you will find the Meso-American Barrier Reef, the second longest coral reef in the world. It is a wonderland for snorkelers and scuba divers alike.
Don't forget the fascinating Mayan archaeological sites. The people and the culture are sure to intrigue you.
