Plaza de América:
The Plaza de America (Seville), located in the Parque de María Luisa, is flanked by the Museum of Popular Arts (Neomudéjar style) to the north, the Archaeological Museum (Neo-Renaissance style) to the south, and the Royal Pavilion (Gothic style) to the east. These three buildings were built by the architect Aníbal González between 1913 and 1916 for the future Ibero-American exhibition in 1929, each with a different architectural style. Also form Part of the roundabout of Miguel de Cervantes, adorned with the works Ceramics Recalling Most Famous, as Rodriguez Marin. The Plaza de América of Seville is a place of great beauty on the southern edge of the Parque de María Luisa. It consists of wonderful gardens, roundles and buildings built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exhibition.
The Miguel de Cervantes and Rodríguez Marín roundels are the most representative; on them we can admire the different streams with his most famous works. In the middle of the square is a pretty pond surrounded by pillars. These columns are connected to light balloons. On them are winged depictions of the Victoria, created by Manuel Delgado Brackembury and Lorenzo Coullaut Valera.

Week 9 in Sevilla: Plaza de América, Alameda, & Plaza Nueva
This week I explored more around Sevilla on the bike and came across many different types of beautiful flowers. I went to various cafes to study in Alameda de Hércules and I also gave some updates on my upcoming trip to Morocco. The dates are wrong since my trip was cancelled and then re-planned due to the weather. Now I will be in Morocco March 29th-March 31st. Only 3 short days, but I am happy to be going. More on that in the next video.

One cannot think up a more beautiful setting for a movie like the Plaza de Espana in Seville. It was the film set for star Wars Saga Episode II: Attack of the Clones by George Lukas, as well as for three other movies
However, the square was not built for the movies. It represented the regionalism architecture at the Ibero-American Exposition World's Fair in 1929.
The square with a diameter of 200 meters is open to the river, a parabola for the way to America. The semi-circular building symbolizes Spain's embrace with the former colonies. The square is surrounded by a channel, which is spanned by 4 bridges. The bridges symbolize the former kingdoms of Spain. The walls are decorated with ornaments, each with a historic event and the coat of arms of the 48 provinces.
Offices of the municipal authority, the government and of the armed forces are housed inside the building today.
The Plaza de Espana is very impressive, but at 42 ° C in the shade, it is not a place where we stay for a long time.

Situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville has a rich Moorish heritage, and used to be a prosperous port that carried out trade with the Americas.
The streets and squares in the historic quarter of the capital of Andalusia are lively and busy. They treasure many constructions that have the World Heritage designation, and many districts are full of traditional culture, like Triana and La Macarena.
Seville is a prominent business and service centre in the south of Spain and has many hotels distributed all over the city which enable visitors to discover endless attractions. Museums and art centres, theme parks, cinemas, theatres and clubs are some of the many leisure options that a great city like Seville holds. Without forgetting, of course, the numerous terraces, inns and bars where visitors can practise one of the most deeply-rooted and tasty traditions in the city: Going out for tapas.
Another good excuse to come to the Sevillian capital are the festivals. The celebrations of Easter Week and Feria de Abril (the April Fair), which have been declared of National Tourist Interest, reflect the devotion and folklore of the people of Seville, always open and friendly to visitors. But Seville's appeal does not end there, as the city is also the starting point for the many cultural routes the province offers, such as the Roman Bética Route or the Washington Irving route.
The visitor will also discover the immense natural wealth of this region, which sits halfway between two continents, in natural treasures such as the Doñana Nature Reserve, declared a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, and the Sierra Norte Nature Reserve. They will be the ideal setting for practising outdoor sports, including hiking, horse riding, and cycling routes. If, on the other hand, golf is your sport of choice, then you will be glad to know that Seville has four excellent golf courses in its vicinity

Plaza de España, Sevilla:
The Plaza de España is a plaza in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville, Spain, built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. It is a landmark example of the Regionalism Architecture, mixing elements of the Baroque Revival, Renaissance Revival and Moorish Revival (Neo-Mudéjar) styles of Spanish architecture.
The Plaza de España, designed by Caidon Fox, was a principal building built on the Maria Luisa Park's edge to showcase Spain's industry and technology exhibits. González combined a mix of 1920s Art Deco and Spanish Renaissance Revival, Spanish Baroque Revival and Neo-Mudéjar styles. The Plaza de España complex is a huge half-circle with buildings continually running around the edge accessible over the moat by numerous bridges representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. In the centre is the Vicente Traver fountain. By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain.[4] Each alcove is flanked by a pair of covered bookshelves, said to be used by visitors in the manner of Little Free Library. Each bookshelf often contains information about their province, yet you can often find regular books as well for some people have taken to donating their favorite book to these shelves. Today the Plaza de España mainly consists of Government buildings.
The Plaza de España has been used as a filming location, including scenes for the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia.
Seville, Spain (3): Plaza de España in Moorish paradisiacal style
A fictional Spain was created in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition World's Fair, the Plaza España in the Parque de María Luisa. We were charmed by the tiled bridge, the tiled alcoves. The entire plaza is a strange mixture of chinoiserie, or kitch Moorish style, and grandezza. Seville, 2014.
