Walking Barcelona : Plaza de Cataluña - Main City Square : Spain
A first-person perspective Barcelona walk tour of Plaza de Cataluña (Plaça de Catalunya), in the centre of the city.
Experience all of the sights and sounds as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person!) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of Barcelona, featuring Plaza de Cataluña, the main square in the centre of Barcelona. The tour covers Plaza de Cataluña, from the pigeons gathering in the centre, through the tree-lined outer perimeter, to the statues and fountains at the northern end.
Sights seen along the tour include a monument to Catalan political leader Francesc Macià by sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs, various statues, fountains, snack booths, balloons, pigeons, and tourists.
And in each video I've hidden a Watching-Eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the Watching-Eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!
Footage recorded June 2017.

Places to see in ( Barcelona - Spain ) Plaza de Cataluna
Plaça de Catalunya is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be both its city centre and the place where the old city and the 19th century-built Eixample meet. After the medieval city walls were demolished in the 19th century, ambitious designs for the city's public spaces were conceived under the guidance of notable urban planners. Plaça Catalunya was conceived as part of pla Rovira in 1859, but no official permission from the government was given until the 1888 Universal Exposition. It was urbanised for the first time in 1902 and was further modified in 1929, on the occasion of the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, which also included the construction of a metro station. Architect Francisco Nebot designed the changes made in 1929. In May 2011 Plaça Catalunya was the main location where anti-government protests and sit ins were held in Barcelona, mirroring the events in other Spanish cities.
Some of the city's most important streets and avenues meet at Plaça Catalunya: Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla de Catalunya, La Rambla or Portal de l'Àngel, in addition to Ronda de Sant Pere, Carrer de Vergara or Carrer de Pelai. The plaza occupies an area of about 50,000 square metres. It is especially known for its fountains and statues, its proximity to some of Barcelona's most popular attractions, and the flocks of pigeons that gather in the centre.
Plaça Catalunya hosts quite a few interesting sculptures representative of Noucentisme, Neo-Classicism and different avant-garde movements. The mosaics that decorate the walls of the underground part of Plaça Catalunya were designed by pupils of Escola Massana.
The original Barcelona metro line in Barcelona, known as Gran Metro, had Plaça Catalunya as one of its termini. It went to become the current green line, L3, operated by TMB. It's also served by two FGC lines.

TRAVEL SPAIN WITH IREM OZEL | BARCELONA TRAVEL GUIDE 2019 | CATALONIA | Episode: 01 | Irem Ozel
Hello Everyone, hope you enjoy my weekly Vlogs.
Inspiring video's about Life style, and Travelling.
Catalonia Square, sometimes referred to as Plaza de Cataluña, is a large square in central Barcelona that is generally considered to be both its city centre and the place where the old city and the 19th century-built Eixample meet. It is especially known for its fountains and statues, its proximity to some of Barcelona's most popular attractions, and the flocks of pigeons that gather in the centre. It is connected by the famous La Rambla street, the most famous touristic street for restaurants and eateries. It stretches for 1.2 kilometres connecting Plaça de Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus Monument at Port Vell. We booked our hotel at this famous lively street La Rambla, that is super crowded during tourist season.

I’ve just read from a CNN news, 24th of October, Chile Protest: by Helen Regan and Bethlehem Feleke, saying that there have been protests in Chile over increase fare of Metro and economic inequalities.
Disclaimer:
I was just at the Catalonia Square when I happened to watch a demonstration with flags of Chile, and took short vids of it.
I like to take films of places and events around Barcelona, all of Spain or anywhere I go whenever I see them as long as they’re helpful.
