It has been 2 years since Plumpton Park Zoo has reopened and a lot has happened! From new animals, to new enclosures, to various improvements throughout the entire Zoo, to yearly events there is always something happening at PPZ! Jimmie the Giraffe's new barn fundraiser has reached its goal and plans to start building soon!

18 tons of sand delivered to Rising Sun High school parkin
Senior prank June 2013. Rising Sun High School (Md) seniors had 18 tons of sand delivered to the school parking lot to create an almost instant beach. Umbrellas, sand toys, Beach Boys music and cookouts followed soon after local farm equipment owned by the families of several seniors just happened to show up in the parking lot Go Tigers!

Visiting the Brandywine Zoo
When Greta and Griffin traveled to Delaware they visited Wilmington's Brandywine zoo, and decided that since their little brother, Ro Ro, hadn't been able to make the trip, with Grandpa's help they would show him what they saw with a video. The zoo has many more animals than are shown in the video, because some were inside their shelters. The Brandywine Zoo is a great place to take children because it's not too large, and there is a petting zoo where it's O.K. to touch.
