Point Arena Lighthouse - Mendocino County, California - Drone
Point Arena Lighthouse - Mendocino County, California - Drone: On a foggy day in November 2018, we went to Point Arena Lighthouse and its nearby coastal arch land mass. The lighthouse is located in Mendocino County, California, United States, approximately 130 miles (210 km) north of San Francisco. The lighthouse features a small museum and gift shop. The lighthouse was built in 1870 but in April 1906, a devastating earthquake struck the light station. It was damaged so severely that it had to be demolished and rebuilt. The new lighthouse began its operation in 1908 which stands 115 feet (35 m) tall. The final scenes of the movie Forever Young (1992, starring Mel Gibson) were filmed near the lighthouse.

Hobo Goes to: Tomales Point; Pierce Ranch; Elk Sanctuary, California
I thought I parked in the right spot, but I was 3 miles off. It was a little weird that the bicycle seemed so long at the time. But that's Ok, you can see long distances because of the lack of trees on the Point Reyes Penninsula, so it's all Ok.
Point Cabrillo Light Station & Camper Fix
Petey & I make a stop at Point Cabrillo Light Station State Park and tour the museum. Then we head to a friends house for a couple of repairs to the Casita. We take off the old waste tube holder and put rivets where the holes used to be. Then we repair the cabinet door which came off after the positive latch broke.

Great Way To Tour Aruba
The electric bikes are a great way for riders of different ability to tour together. Nobody gets left behind or struggles with the hills or wind. You still get exercise, but it is more moderate. The bikes do really well and are easy to handle, even off-road. I did the ride with my two teenage kids and we all enjoyed it. Freddy is a great tour guide and a genuinely nice guy that we all enjoyed meeting. This ride was one of the highlights of our trip to Aruba.

The Natural Beauty of the Mendocino Headlands
The Mendocino Headlands surround the Village of Mendocino in Northern California. The headlands are a series of majestic, high rocky cliffs with sheer drops overlooking the Pacific at the mouth of Big River. Nine and a half miles south of Ft. Bragg and two miles north of the town of Little River in Mendocino County, Mendocino Headlands State Park has miles of trails through grasses and wild flowers and with views of crashing waves and rugged sea arches. Grey whales can be seen on their winter migration.
The Village of Mendocino was named after Cape Mendocino to the north in Humbolt County, which was named in honor of Antonio de Mendoza, who served from 1535 to 1550 as the Viceroy of New Spain. Before 1850, there was a Pomo village on the north bank of the Big River. It became a logging town in the 1850s, with the first post office opening in 1858. Among the first settlers in the town were New Englanders, Portuguese fishermen, and immigrants from Canton Province in China.
In the 1950s Mendocino began to be known as an art colony and since 1987 has hosted the Mendocino Music Festival in the summer.
The Historic Ford House is both a museum and the visitors center for the Mendocino Headlands State Park. Visitors can see exhibits on the logging of redwood trees and their shipping on doghole schooners. A collection of historic and natural history videos is available for viewing. Walks along the headlands and through the fields of wild flowers are led by docents. The house was built in 1854 by Jerome B. Ford, who is known as the founder of the city.
