Maui Vacation, Lahaina Beach Resort
A Maui Vacation, staying in Lahaina.! Maui is so amazing, Pride of Maui tour company was awesome.
Now I don't like flying, but my wife really really wanted to go. So I put on my big boy pants and sucked it up! Wow, was it worth it..! The people in Maui are amazing, much slower lifestyle than the states. The water is SO warm there! The food was amazing. We booked our trip through Costco, at a GREAT price. We stayed at the Lahaina Beach Resort, I would highly recommend that place to anyone!
If you like food, here are a couple places you must try.
Dukes, get the hula pie
Sunrise Cafe, it's all good

Whale watching in Maui is the #1 activity that people visit for during the winter months. These Humpback Whales swim from Alaska and west coast to the Hawaiian Islands each year to mate and give birth in the warm shallow waters around Maui. We can take you to see them up close and person on a traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe or Ocean Kayak
As a matter of fact the waters off of Maui's South/West shores (Kihei, Lahaina, Wailea, Olowalu, Makena, Kaanapali, Kapalua, Napili) are the some of the most populated waters in the WORLD for Humpback Whales. Humpback whales are the most watchable whales due to their surf activities: Pec Slaps, Breaches, Fluke Slaps, Spy Hops and Tail Up Dives. They also surface on average every 10-15minutes to breath, spraying water 15 feet in the air as they clear their lungs through their blow hole, perfect for spectator's or those on a Maui Whale Watching tour. If you're in Maui during whale season going on a whale watch tour is a must!

Most Epic Maui Whale Watch EVER - part 2
Check out this close-up humpback whale watching encounter just off the shores of west Maui! Often referred to as a whale ‘mugging,’ these two guys were extremely fortunate to get the whale watch of a lifetime as they prepared to go scuba diving:
Filmed off of the coast of west Maui’s Lahaina Town, this video was captured from a 10 foot zodiac boat on an iPhone and a GoPro and is one of the closest encounters we’ve ever seen on film!
If you plan to travel to Maui, Hawaii, from the period of mid December to mid May, you’re just in time to witness the Aloha State’s favorite time of year: whale season. The 5th largest species of whale in the world, these majestic humpbacks make their annual journey from the shores of Alaska to Hawaii each year in order to mate, give birth and nurse their young in the warm, shallow waters surrounding Hawaii. On Maui in particular, humpback whales particularly seem to love the shallow and protected Au’au Channel, which lies conveniently between west Maui and our neighbor island of Lanai.
While chasing after humpbacks is strictly prohibited, it’s a truly memorable experience when they take the time to approach you instead! You can see these stunning creatures during whale season on Maui on one of many popular whale watching tours, whether by boat with Kai Kanani and Redline Rafting or by outrigger canoe, stand up paddleboard or kayak with Hawaiian Paddle Sports and Maui Kayak Adventures. Additionally, you’re often even lucky enough to spot them from shore while lounging at the beach! Just remember to always pull over, park and get out of your car if the sudden urge to whale watch while driving hits.
When viewing them from the water, you may even get lucky enough to hear the males as they sing, and witness the many playful behaviors they exhibit on the surface of the water, including fluke up and down dives, blowing, pec and tail slapping, spy hopping, head slapping and breaching.
Truly an unforgettable experience in Maui, we recommend whale season for new and return visitors to The Valley Isle. Aloha!

KAHEKILI BEACH PARK - KA'ANAPALI - WEST MAUI - HAWAII
Kahekili Beach Park - Ka'anapali - West Maui - Hawaii

Maui, Hawaii - Our Honeymoon (December 2019)
Took a cliche first trip to Maui, Hawaii for our honeymoon and realized why it's so cliche! Spent 7 nights at the Grand Wailea and did all the touristy things including: Makena (Big) Beach, Small Beach (Christine took pics of nude people on accident), Haleakala National Park (it was rainy and cloudy so we missed the sunrise), Front Street, zip-lining at Haleakala, snorkeling at the Molikini Crater and Turtle Town, whale watching in Lahaina, drove the Road to Hana, and participated in the Old Lahaina Luau! Had the time of our lives and can't wait to visit the other islands in the future!!

Maui Whale Watching | Kayak Tour Humpback Whale Watching Hawaii
Whale Watching Maui -- Things to do in Maui. See humpback whales up close and personal. Book a tour by visiting or by calling 808-660-4228
There are number of Large boat operators which offer Maui Whale Watching Tours. Our guests who have also been out on Whale Watching Boats say that there is no comparison to seeing a whale up close and personal on Stand Up Paddle Board, Ocean Kayak or Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe. No crowds, no engine noise, just peace and quite... then, there she blows!!! It is a very awakening experience to see the Humpback Whales in this way.
Every year between December and April visitors from all over the world flock to Maui to Whale Watch. Maui's shallow, warm and protected waters provide the perfect habitat for Humpback Whales to mate and give birth. As a matter of fact the waters off of Maui's South/West shores (Kihei, Lahaina, Wailea, Olowalu, Makena, Kaanapali, Kapalua, Napili) are the some of the most populated waters in the WORLD for Humpback Whales. Travel Guide to Maui, Hawaii | TheExpeditioner
In this travel video guide to Maui, Hawaii, I travel to Maui and start off by heading to Haleakalā National Park to watch the sunrise from the highest volcano in Maui. On this part of the island, clouds form at the base of the volcano, and as the sun rises, a myriad of colors form and provide an unforgettable visual experience.
Next I throw on a wet suit and hit the waves to learn how to surf -- my first time ever. Though I've ridden the New York City subway after happy hour before, I was still a little unsure about how my balance would be on a surfboard. Luckily, the surf instructor had a black labrador dog out on her board with us in case anything went terribly wrong.
Finally, I wrap up the day by heading to the beach with a ukulele to have a jam session with a local Maui resident and ukulele player, where we jam out to some Bob Marley as the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, framed by the nearby islands of Moloka'i and Lana'i.
I then travel to Paia, the small, laid-back beach town on the northern coast of Maui, to track down the famed breakfast dish called the Loco Moco (rice, brown gravy and a hamburger patty topped with a fried egg).
Next I head north on the Hana Highway and take a hike into the lush forest to take a dip at Twin Falls, a small water hole in the middle of the forest fed by two island waterfalls. If this isn't classic Hawaii, then I don't know what is.
After picking up my friends at the airport, we jump onto a helicopter(!) to take an aerial tour of Maui and nearby Moloka'i. From this vantage point we visit dramatic sea cliffs up close and explore the interior portions of the islands -- places that few people ever see.
I started off my third day there by heading back up the side of Haleakala Volcano, then lunging my body of the side of the hillside (okay, I was paragliding). As I floated thousands of feet above ground, I was given a unique viewpoint of the island, and even lived to tell about it (and make this video).
Next I head out onto the open water on a sailing outrigger canoe (a canoe with a lateral support on its side in traditional Polynesian fashion), and take to the water to go snorkeling, which included a couple sea turtle sightings.
I then finish up the day with fish tacos at Coconut's (which, to this day, are probably some of the best fish tacos I've ever had), and shave ice for dessert, the classic Hawaii dessert consisting of shaved ice inundated with flavored syrups.
I decide to get a little high culture in and head to Ulupalakua Winery and Ranch, where I sample some pineapple wine (what else?), then head across the street to the Western-themed country store for elk burgers for lunch.
Then I pick up my friends and head north to Honolua Bay to hike in the nearby forest (and maybe get lost a bit), then visit a hillside that overlooks Honolua Bay, where you can park your car and watch some of the best surfers in the world who come here to surf one of the world's best surfing spots.
Finally, I travel to the Surfing Goat Dairy Farm, Maui's premiere (and only goat farm), where I am put to work feeding and milking the goats, and rewarded with an artisanal goat cheese tasting.
Then, with my trip coming to a close, I head to the nondescript restaurant Da Kitchen, one of the best places to try out classic Hawaiian cuisine, including Kahlua Pork, Teriyaki Chicken and of course, Spam.
Finally, I wrap up by providing my thoughts about the island. Be forewarned, sentimentality and reflection ensue.
