4K CABVIEW Sarajevo - Capljina - 99 tunnels from Continental to Mediterranean Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Sarajevo - Capljina railway line connects the continental part of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Port of Ploce at the Adriatic Sea. The linking up Sarajevo and Capljina with a railway connection, required digging of 99 tunnels and construction of 65 bridges.
Very demanding and complex mountainous terrain at the route required the construction of many tunnels several kilometers long. The Neretva river canyon, in addition to being perhaps the most beautiful area on the route, caused a special way of line tracing. The line had to be raised above the river and high from the bottom of the canyon, which was flooded in many places by building numerous reservoirs along the river. Another very important and well known part of this line is the Bradina ramp (Bradina pass). With a few serpentines and numerous tunnels in the curves, a large altitude difference was overcome in a very short distance. The appearance of that part is especially shown at the beginning of the video. Trains overcome altitude difference of 750 meters between Bradina and Capljina (nearly 400m in the short distance from Bradina to Konjic).

Old Bridge Area of the Old City of Mostar
The historic town of Mostar, spanning a deep valley of the Neretva River, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict, however, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt and many of the edifices in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean and western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar is a symbol of reconciliation, international co-operation and of the coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities.

4K CABVIEW Capljina - Sarajevo - 99 tunnels and 65 bridges - The Neretva River Canyon
The 195km long Sarajevo - Ploče railway line connects the continental part of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Adriatic Sea coast. This video shows 163km of this railway line through the Bosnia and Herzegovina, between Sarajevo and Čapljina. Short segment of this railway line, from Čapljina to the Port of Ploče, is located in Croatia.
This line is drilled through complicated mountainous terrain, especially between Bradina and Mostar and a significant part of the line follows the Neretva River, from continental to Mediterranean nature. The 99 tunnels along this line have a total length of over 36km. There are over ten long tunnels. The longest is tunnel Jedrenje (3239m) and tunnel Ivan (3221m). There are more than 60 bridges. The most significant are Jablanica, Stara Drežnica, Tarčins viaducts and bridges over the Neretva river.
The most scenic parts of the line Sarajevo - Čapljina are along the Neretva River Canyon and over the Bradina Pass. Several dams make large accumulations on the river. The track follows these accumulations and has a constant slope from the Adriatic Sea to the highest point in Bradina. Between Sarajevo and Konjic, the line climbs over the mountain with a few serpentines. These serpentines and a very large slope of 24‰ (total track resistance of 25,9‰) makes the famous Bradina Pass. At this part of the railway, the largest number of tunnels were drilled in order to overcome the large height difference at the shortest possible distance. The lowest point of the line is 7m at Čapljina and the highest point is 756m at Bradina.
This video recorded from passenger Talgo train number 720 (Čapljina - Sarajevo). Many significant details of the route and train, such as maximum speed, slow order speed, limit speed, location, altitude and objects like tunnels and bridges are shown in the video.

Couldn't put this on my blog directly so I had to upload it. Pretty exhilarating.
Rising above Mostar, the tower of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Built in 1866. while the region was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, the Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul and the Franciscan monastery in stand together as one of the most beautiful examples of architecture in Mostar.
Now the city of Mostar has another tourist attraction to offer. Yesterday was the formal commissioning of the elevator and the viewpoint on the bell tower of the church of St. Peter and Paul. The tower is locally called “tower of peace”.
People from Mostar and many visitors who are increasingly visiting our city, from today can visit the viewpoint and the tower of the Franciscan church in order to see the city from the height of 80 meters, and through four large windows.
Today's church with its dimensions, appearance and the bell tower (107m high), dominates the city of Mostar.
What makes this place so special?
This complex boasts a library with 50,000 ancient western and eastern scriptures and books. It is the largest library of such characteristics in Herzegovina and this region. In the monastery there is also an important collection of paintings by Italian masters of the XVI and XVII century, and also works from modern artists.
Now visitors can enter the church, take photographs from the viewpoint and enjoy the singing and watch rehearsals of the church assembly.

Stari Most (Old Bridge) Divers in Mostar
Just taking the time to stop & chat can make your or someone else’s day. I knew guys jumped of the ‘Stari Most’ here, but hadn’t managed to catch them yesterday - there isn’t a set time this takes place. One of the divers was siting on the edge, admiring the view and I asked him what the water temperature was and if he had been jumping since he was a boy, he had. I left him by bidding him ‘be safe my friend’ and he thanked me. I duly popped a few quid in the collection and he recognised me again. After the dive had taken place, he popped over and grabbed a postcard series of how the bridge had changed over the years. The decimation in the 90s is unthinkable - check out the images at the end of the video. Of course, I needed a selfie then :-) - my day was made...
Jumping from the bridge was historically a right of passage for locals. These days, not so with many injuries and deaths. The water is a chilly 10°C I was told today, and the drop is 20-24 metres depending on the season.
The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series visits here each year. It is the only location where competitors jump from a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I take my hat off to them. Be safe my friend...
