Portimao Station lies 28km west of Tunes on the branch line Lagos. Portimao is by far the largest conurbation on the branch. The Goods Shed still survives, albeit unused, but the original station building and is still in use today. New high platforms have been added making the platform side frontage of the main building redundant.

Railways in the Algarve xxviii - A busy afternoon at Faro Station. Aug 6th 2016.
My second video of Faro Station since Episode i, was originally intended as a quick visit but the number of occupied platforms resulted in a longer stay than originally envisaged!
There were 2 Class 5600 locos awaiting early evening departures, one at the head of ten carriages, the longest I have seen here.
The extra Saturday Alfa Pendular service helped increase the appearance of activity. (Three weeks in a row I have filmed these APs!) Thanks for Watching

Ponte de Portimao carries the Tunes to Lagos branch line across the River Arade just east of Portimao Station. The bridge is 300m long with six spans.

In the end of September we traveled to the Algarve region in Portugal. This region is known to have some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
On our 2nd day here we did a boat tour to explore all the caves from Lagos up to Ponta da Piedade. Local fishermen gave names to some of the rocks as they look like some known figures like: Michael Jackson, King Kong, Titanic and many more.
After that we decided to go to Portimao. This town was very quiet and relaxing. The beach from Portimao Praia da Rocha where there was a big festival going on called Solaris Sunset Empire. We enjoyed some relaxing at the beach and then headed back on the last bus to Lagos.
