Powell's Book Store - Portland, Oregon
One of the biggest Book Stores in the USA. Powell's is 4 floors of every book lovers dream. The store is laid out in a way which is easy to understand. Signage and color coding tells you where to go for any of your interests from Travel to Self-Help. I could have spent the whole day in this store that includes both new and used books. Find the store in Down Town Portland in the Pearl District. Ride the Street Car or the Bus.

The Hawthorne District in Portland, Oregon, is an area of Southeast Portland on SE Hawthorne Blvd. that runs from 12th to 60th Avenues[1], with the primary core of businesses between 30th and 50th Avenues. The area has numerous retail stores, including clothing shops, restaurants, bars, brewpubs and microbreweries.[2]
The Hawthorne Boulevard Business Association serves local businesses on the boulevard from SE 12th Ave. through SE 60th Ave.[5] While many Business Districts are intrinsically involved with their Neighborhood Association, this stretch of SE Hawthorne Blvd. is tangent to or a boundary of four neighborhoods Buckman, Hosford-Abernethy, Sunnyside, Richmond, and passes into a fifth, Mount Tabor. Oregon Coast 2014 (Pt. 20) - A Stroll Through Portland
September 21, 2014 - On the last full day of summer, while Sophie was shopping, I went on a tour of the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. Featured in order is downtown (near Pioneer Square), Portland's famous food carts, the Burnside Bridge (with views of the Willamette River and the twin green spires of the Convention Center), the castle-like Armory, the breweries of the Pearl District (notably, Deschutes Brewery), a protest (on the hour, every hour), the delectable selections at Voodoo Donut, and Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
Not pictured, I also visited the Oregon Ducks Team Store, a haunted pizzeria, Powell's City of Books, and Chinatown.
