Golf courses:
There are two on-site golf courses - Praia D’El Rey Golf & Country Club and West Cliffs Golf Links.
Praia D'El Rey Golf can be considered as one of the best in Europe; with a front 9 set among an extensive pine forest and a contrasting ocean-side back 9 with undulating dunes and fantastic views over the Atlantic.
West Cliffs is regarded as Europes Number 1 new golf course. Opened in 2017, it is a pure links layout which runs alongside the coast with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a stern test of golf and promises to be top of the European rankings for some time.

Praia D’el Rey Golf Course is very nice and I definitely enjoyed my round. As you can see there are some beautiful views and the course is very well kept. Stay tuned till the end of my video to hear my only critique and the reason I think you might consider skipping this course.

The 18-hole golf course was designed by the renowned American golf architect Cabell B.Robinson and was inaugurated on 14th June 1997. Deep bunkers, sloping greens and sandy dunes contrast sharply with the lush fairways, making it the complete golfing challenge.
Praia D'El Rey is rated amongst the top golf courses in Europe by Golf World Magazine and is one of Portugal's major golfing destinations for both private and sponsored events.
The course is a mixture of seaside links and parkland holes with a par of 73, offering the golfer a unique experience. Players are required to have a valid golf handicap certificate. Minimum handicap requirements are men 36, ladies 36.

the Oeste (West) Region of Portugal, just an hour north of Lisbon, is an area of protected and outstanding natural beauty with spectacular cliffs, pristine beaches and local towns and villages steeped in history. Sample mouth-watering local cuisine, in particular the seafood - accompanied of course, by the Region's excellent local wine. The West Region truly has something for everyone.
Within easy reach of the Praia D'El Rey resort is the medieval town of Óbidos, a jewel of Portuguese National Heritage. Conquered from the Moors in 1148, the town was traditionally given as a wedding gift by the King of Portugal to the new Queen. Encircled by a ring of medieval walls and crowned by the Moorish castle the narrow cobbled streets are lined with whitewashed houses; shops are piled high with local handicrafts and in the spring, the town is ablaze with bougainvillea. Óbidos also boasts the most spectacular natural lagoon, the ideal spot for sailing, windsurfing or just relaxing by its tranquil waters.
Just off the coast from Praia D'El Rey and easily accessible by boat, are the spectacular Berlenga islands, with their towering cliffs sheltering crystal waters. It's the perfect spot for year-round diving or deep-sea fishing.
At Praia D'El Rey, with all of this on your doorstep, there is always something new to discover, and every day spent will make it harder to leave.
