Praia de Chaves in Boa Vista, Cape Verde
Praia de Chaves is a beach in the western part of the island of Boa Vista in Cape Verde, close to the town Rabil. It is about 5 km long.
At the northern part of the beach, close to Rabil, tourist resorts have been developed. The southern part is included in the Morro de Areia Nature Reserve.
Praia de Chaves boasts a vast expanse of golden sands in the western part of Boa Vista Island. The beach sits between turquoise waters on one side and impressive sand dunes flanked with palm trees on the other. Thatched umbrellas provide the necessary shade, while a few huts offer some food and water sports rentals. A tourist resort with all the usual amenities provides accommodations just 1 km (0.6 mi) from the beach.
Praia Chaves is a fantastic beach located in Boa Vista island, Cape Verde. It has 10 km of soft white sand without people around, just a few tourists.
In October of 2007 opened the international airport, some resorts already opened and others will open soon. We hope this development won't adversely affect the natural beauty of this extraordinary place.
The Cache
It is located in the ruins of old kilns once the center of an established industry on Boa Vista.
It is very interesting to see the relation between the fine white sand, the dunes, the sea and those ruins. It is a unique scenario.
After having found the cache you should dive in the warm sea, it's fantastic!!

The Royal Horizons ex Decameron is to our taste one of the finest hotels in the Praia de Chaves. We were all inclusive and a wonderful beach holiday. The rooms are spacious, the location of the hotel on the beautiful beach is great. Even the style of many house goes well with the Cape Verde Islands.
Das Royal Horizons und ehemalige Decameron ist nach unserem Geschmack eins der schönsten Hotels am Praia de Chaves. Wir hatten All Inclusive gebucht und einen wunderschönen Badeurlaub. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, Die Lage des Hotels am Traumstrand ist toll. Auch der Baustil der vielen Häuschen passt gut zu den Kapverden.
