High Wind & Waves At Presque Isle State Park Erie, Pa. It was a beautiful but WINDY day at the peninsula. The wind was blowing so hard that it really kicked up some waves on Lake Erie. The sunset was incredible.

Presque Isle State Park is a 3,200-acre sandy peninsula that arches into Lake Erie. As Pennsylvania's only seashore, Presque Isle offers its visitors a beautiful coastline and many recreational activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling and in-line skating. A National Natural Landmark, Presque Isle is a favorite spot for migrating birds. Because of the many unique habitats, Presque Isle contains a greater number of the state's endangered, threatened and rare species than any other area of comparable size in Pennsylvania.

Presque Isle State Park is a 3,112-acre Pennsylvania state park on an arching, sandy peninsula that juts into Lake Erie, 4 miles west of the city of Erie, in Millcreek Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The peninsula sweeps northeastward, surrounding Presque Isle Bay along the park's southern coast. It has 13 miles of roads, 21 miles of recreational trails, 13 beaches for swimming, and a marina. Popular activities at the park include swimming, boating, hiking, biking, and birdwatching.
The recorded history of Presque Isle begins with the Erielhonan, a Native American tribe who gave their name to Lake Erie, and includes French, British, and American forts, as well as serving as a base for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's fleet in the War of 1812. With the growing importance of shipping on Lake Erie in the 19th century, Presque Isle became home to several lighthouses and what became a United States Coast Guard station. In 1921 it became a state park, and as of 2007 it hosts over 4 million visitors per year, the most of any Pennsylvania state park.

Presque Isle is Pennsylvania’s only “sea shore.” Its long stretch of beaches make it a popular hotspot to both locals and visitors each summer. Beaches are open daily throughout the year for walking, sunbathing, picnicking and more. Swimming is permitted only at guarded beaches while guards are on duty. Guarded beach hours are noon to 7:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.

Erie's North Pier Light At Presque Isle State Park, Pa. Such a nice little place to sit down and relax for a bit. Watch the boats enter and leave Misery Bay. Enjoy some fishing, sightseeing, or just unwind. Definitely a stress reliever for me when visiting Presque Isle State Park.

We were FINALLY able to spend a long weekend at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. A 14 mile paved and FLAT bike path circles Presque Isle and leads you to the Perry Monument, Presque Isle Lighthouse, and beaches. Also the seedpods that were floating around made me think of the Upside Down from Stranger things! :)

Sara's campground ,Presque Isle State Park
We had a Chicago trip that we had to cancel last minute due to work issues, so we decided to head up to Erie PA for the night October 13th 2018 to camp out at Sara's Campground I highly recommend them for beach camping. It cost us 15 dollars for 1 nights stay they had utility poles with electric hooks and plugs also running water. We had a great time and we definitely be returning.
