Diesel Taxi With An All-India Tourist Permit Can Run In Delhi-NCR
The Supreme Court on Tuesday lifted the ban on diesel taxis with all-India tourist permit and allowed them to resume operations in NCR till their permit expires.
The top court also ruled that no new diesel taxis with all-India tourist permit would be allowed to do point to point service within the NCR.

Woman From Belgium Molested By Ola Cab Driver In Delhi
A 23-year old Belgian woman was molested by an Ola cab driver in Delhi last evening. The driver insisted her to sit in the front and took her to the wrong route. The driver has now been arrested.

Auto Rickshaw & Taxi Drivers On Strike Stop Private Cabs, Rough Up Their Drivers In Delhi
As thousands of autos and taxis went off the city’s roads for the second consecutive day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on July 27 attacked Lt Governor Najeeb Jung accusing him of “supporting the BJP” to “cripple” Delhi.
Transport Minister Satyender Jain questioned Delhi Police’s “inaction” against “BJP-supported goons” who allegedly stopped autos and passenger vehicles from plying.
Protesters were yesterday seen at several places trying to forcibly enforce the strike.
Regular commuters and those visiting the city were having a harrowing time due to the strain on the public transport system.

Good old Delhi taxis, with black and yellow Ambassadors and new Maruti vans
The black and yellow ambassador cabs are reminiscent of one's childhood days. When owning a private car was still considered a luxury, travelling by these sturdy ambassadors painted in a standard black and yellow marked the travel method for all middle class families in the capital. The hue of these bulky ambassadors acted as the identification marker for the taxi services, something similar to the popular black cabs in London, and these black and yellow cabs enjoyed a successful stint in the absence of alternative taxi service providers.
However as the years passed, the taxi scenario in the city changed drastically! Govt. policies and opening of taxi services as private ventures implied the extinction of the famous black and yellow cabs of Delhi. The private entrants hence marked the exit of the black and yellow roofed cabs as the private cabs were an instant hit with lesser charges, doorstep services and an environment-friendly tag with CNG-fitted cars.
Though the sturdy ambassadors suffered heavily due to the govt policies of allowing private entrants, it still managed to survive. The black and yellow roofed top might not be as popular as they were before but, nevertheless, if you want to travel through the historical hotspots of the capital, the ambassadors are a good choice. The few that managed to bounce back have refurbished their taxis and fitted them with CNG. Treading the CNG route has also enabled the taxi providers to lower their fares and thus try to be at par with the various radio cab services.

Delhi, the capital of India has a strong historical background. It was ruled by some of the most powerful emperors in Indian history.
The History of the City is as old as the epic Mahabharata. The town was known as Indraprastha, where Pandavas used to live. In due course eight more cities came alive adjacent to Indraprastha: Lal Kot, Siri, Dinpanah, Quila Rai Pithora, Ferozabad, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad and Shahjahanabad.
Delhi has been a witness to the political turmoil for over five centuries. It was ruled by the Mughals in succession to Khiljis and Tughlaqs.
In 1192 the legions of the Afghan warrior Muhammad of Ghori captured the Rajput town, and the Delhi Sultanate was established (1206). The invasion of Delhi by Timur in 1398 put an end to the sultanate; the Lodis, last of the Delhi sultans, gave way to Babur, who, after the battle of Panipat in 1526, founded the Mughal Empire. The early Mughal emperors favoured Agra as their capital, and Delhi became their permanent seat only after Shah Jahan built (1638) the walls of Old Delhi.
From Hindu Kings to Muslim Sultans, the reins of the city kept shifting from one ruler to another. The soils of the city smell of blood, sacrifices and love for the nation. The old 'Havelis' and edifices from the past stand silent but their silence also speaks volumes for their owners and people who lived here centuries back.
In the year 1803 AD, the city came under the British rule. In 1911, British shifted their capital from Calcutta to Delhi. It again became the center of all the governing activities. But, the city has the reputation of over throwing the occupants of its throne. It included the British and the current political parties that have had the honour of leading free India.
After independence in 1947, New Delhi was officially declared as the Capital of India.

No Auto-Taxi For People In Delhi NCR Today| Namaste Bharat | ABP New
Transport associations in Delhi-NCR region have called for a strike on Thursday to protest against the sharp hike in traffic penalities under the new Motor Vehicles Act. The strike called by almost 34 associations of autos, taxis, private school buses, maxi cabs, OLA and Uber cabs, cluster buses under STA, Gramin Seva and large commercial vehicles from morning 6 am to 10 pm. Around 50,000 transport vehicles are expected to stay off the roads.According to reports, schools have sent an advisory to parents informing them of the holiday due to transport strike on Thursday.
