Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of the state of New York.
This video begins as I take a scenic drive on the Prospect Mountain Veteran's Memorial High Parkway which provides several scenic overlooks of the lake and the town of Lake George. Next I take a drive through the town of Lake George making stops at the Old Courthouse and the only remaining Howard Johnson's Restaurant in the world.

The views are so spectacular & breathtaking, one must not leave Lake George before going to Prospect Mountain… it’s so unbelievably amazing!

Our road trip through Upstate New York took us by surprise. Everywhere we turned, there were rolling hills, grazing cows and endless apple orchards. We kept having to remind ourselves that we were 2 hours outside of NYC, and not in the Swiss countryside. Special thanks to Paul and Nancy, our Airbnb hosts who welcomed us into their home and hearts and let us explore their beautiful 13 acre property. We can't wait to go back!

Lake George NY - Spring Tour 2019 !!!
Lake George is one of the popular tourist destination in New York USA. During the spring break, we decided to tour Lake George NY with family and friends. Lake George has many tourist spots and fun activities such as Lake George Beach, Million Dollar Beach, Prospect Mountain, Adirondack Adventure Center and so on. All are fascinating places and its difficult cover everything in a single visit unless you are going for a week long vacation. During our spring trip, we spent time at Lake George Beach, witnessed a very beautiful and scenic Sunrise at Rogers Memorial Park (Boltan Landing, NY) and did a challenging hike at Pilot Knob Preserve.
I would recommend this place to anyone wanted spend a relaxing few days vacation in New York.

Shelving Rock Falls is a 50-foot cascade that lies to the east side of Lake George. It is an easy hike with a wide, unmarked dirt trail that leads straight to the cascade's top. This makes it a GREAT hike for families with little ones. There is a lot to look at. The stream, falls, geocaches and then Log Bay in Lake George all add to the excitement and fun. The views are spectacular, not a top of the mountain view but a great view of Lake George none-the-less. If you bring swim suits, along with water shoes or sneakers, you can cool off in the refreshing waters. If you follow the waters downstream, you will eventually reach the lake.

Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes,[2] is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of New York. It lies within the upper region of the Great Appalachian Valley and drains all the way northward into Lake Champlain and the St. Lawrence River drainage basin. The lake is situated along the historical natural (Amerindian) path between the valleys of the Hudson and St. Lawrence Rivers, and so lies on the direct land route between Albany, New York and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The lake extends about 32.2 mi (51.8 km) on a north-south axis, is quite deep, and varies from one to three miles (1.6 to 4.8 km) in width, presenting a significant barrier to east-west travel. Although the year-round population of the Lake George region is relatively small, the summertime population can swell to over 50,000 residents, many in the village of Lake George region at the southern end of the lake.
