[MAME] Wing Force (prototype) (C)1993 Atlus
A rare, unreleased vertical shooter has been preserved in MAME, thanks to ShouTime.
The game was developed by A.I. for Atlus in 1993, but never got past the development stage.
ShouTime bought and dumped the prototype PCB, possibly the only one in existence, saving this game from oblivion!

In this MAME video I'm playing with an infinite lives cheat.
The emulation is almost identical to the one I wrote for Blaze On and its dual sprite chip, but with an additional sound chip.

We continue our retro arcade Osaka adventure with one of my favourite game centres, テレビゲーム かすが Kasuga Gorakujo (TeleviGame Kasuga)!
This place is packed with loads of retro games and has a really great feel to it. Found along a narrow, busy shopping street, there’s always lots of people popping in to play their favourite classic games. This time we tried out Ghosts 'n Goblins (魔界村 Makaimura), the arcade version of Super Mario Bros., Dolphin Blue, and of course Metal Slug, along with a few others. I highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the area!

First time playing. This a prototype for a Superman game that was made by Sunsoft. This is actually very good. It's a shame that this is the only good Superman game. I wish this was released instead of that other piece of shit that the AVGN reviewed. DAMN YOU KEMCO!!!

Beat Head Game Sample - Arcade (Prototype)
Beat Head (also known as BeatHead) is a limited prototype that was made by Atari in 1993. According to...
^ This game was never intended to be as limited as it was and was only meant to be out for a few days (after a test run, which was short and did not yield great success). As you might see from this video, this was during a time when Atari was still very out there in terms of ideas and concepts. You play with two guys who get disfigured by some freak when they are watching the television one day. Player one (the black guy) gets his head switched with that of a bird (because the bird is next to him). Player two (the white guy) gets his head switched with that of a dog for the same reason as the other guy (except with a dog obviously). The music is okay, but I personally didn't hear anything that would truly sell the music and action idea (combining rhythm and music with some sort of game interface).
The dudes are then tossed into a psychedelic dimension where you must hop to the beat and reach 13 points (you step on things to get your score, but it isn't clear why you need them). There are stage hazards like jump springs and teleporters that can aid or hurt you or help you. You can also bump your opponent and make them lose points. This proto seemed to get a relatively decent score by anonymous ratings. What do I personally think? As is, it is fairly repetitive, but it was said that the game wanted to be more than what it was. The concept is okay and the hazards help, so the game is playable. I'd say it is average.

El juego esta basado en la famosa película de Rambo III estrenada en 1987 clasificada en aquellos tiempos para publico maduro por su contenido de violencia grafica.
Este es el prototipo original publicado en Europa con un nivel de dificultad un poco mayor que su versión Americana en esta la pantalla final de cada misión aparece un marcador con el numero de enemigos a derrotar.
Las pantallas final de creditos de esta versión muestra las fotos de la película y no aparecen los nombres de los desarrolladores.
Ranbou del japones significa: duro, violento.
FLECHA SUPER BOMBA esta puede ser obtenida en diferentes puntos del escenario y es una arma muy poderosa que ayuda mucho en la trama para obtenerla deberás cumplir ciertos requisitos como no haber recibido daño alguno hasta llegar a cierto punto donde aparecerá de repente sin embargo estos a veces no funciona.

In 1988, Taito released an Akira adventure game for the Famicom exclusively in Japan. Another Akira game for the Atari Jaguar, Super NES, Genesis and Sega CD was being developed, but canceled along with prospects of another Akira title for the Game Boy and Game Gear handheld consoles. International Computer Entertainment produced a video game based on Akira for the Amiga and Amiga CD32 in 1994.
