Mountain biking on the Big Island of Hawaii from the top of Kaloko Drive (over 5000') through tropical forests, fields, and bare lava rock to the ancient cindercone Puu Wa'awa'a (which, of course we had to climb). In and out of clouds, over and under fences, down and up steep mountainsides, surviving falls and breakdowns, a great time was had by all. The ride was led by Grant Miller of BIKE WORKS (Kona's fine bike shop) and Dr. Fred.
