PUERTA DEL SOL, MADRID
La Puerta del Sol es una plaza de Madrid (España). Aquí se encuentra DESDE 1950 el denominado Kilómetro Cero de las carreteras radiales españolas. El edificio más antiguo de la Puerta del SOL es la Casa de Correos y en ella destaca el reloj de torre que fue construido y donado en el siglo XIX por José Rodríguez de Losada, y cuyas campanadas de las 12 de la noche del 31 de diciembre marcan la tradicional toma de las doce uvas a la gran mayoría de los españoles. Dichas campanadas se empezaron a televisar el 31 de diciembre de 1962 en La 1 de TVE, a PARTIR de ese año no se ha dejado de retransmitir por diversos canales de televisión de España. La Puerta del Sol es un lugar de cita, un lugar de paso ENTRE diversas partes de Madrid. Es visita turística obligada de aquellos que se acercan a Madrid.

A Walk In The Puerta Del Sol Neighborhood of Madrid
SOL is the city-center and home to Madrid’s most popular meeting-point: “the bear statue” or as it’s called in Spanish, “El Oso y el Madroño”. Sol also marks Kilometer Zero, meaning that all of Madrid’s building numbers and highways stem from there. It’s literally the middle-point of the entire Iberian Peninsula. Sol is also the center-point of the city when it comes to transport, shopping and tourist destinations. All of Madrid’s most popular shops are located within walking distance from Sol, and there are plenty of restaurants, both new and old, to dine at. The Plaza Mayor is a hop skip away, and a ten minute walk from Sol will conveniently bring you either to the Prado Museum or the Royal Palace.

Walking in MADRID / Spain ????????- Winter tour around Puerta del Sol - 4K 60fps (UHD)
We are in Madrid, the capital of Spain on a winter afternoon.
Our tour starts at the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente in the centre. We quickly walk towards the Puerta del Sol which we will visit several times today. Central Madrid is busy with people and shops - also on our way to the Gran Vía.
On the Gran Viá we head east to the Plaza de Jacinto Benavente - the symbolic Gothic palace & fountain and now Madrid's City Hall.
The tour continues walking back on the Gran Vía to Puerta del Sol and into direction of Plaza Mayor. We complete our round walking back to Puerta del Sol on the Calle del Arenal, another shopping street.

Hello! We are in Spain and we are about to witness the New Year's Eve tradition of eating 12 grapes, each one the same rhythm that the bell strokes, which is actually quite fun and interesting. Also, this tradition is from the XIX century so its quite old. Enjoy!
We warmly thanked Hotel Europa of Madrid ( the facilities provided to make this video taking advantage of its spectacular views to the Puerta del Sol, being the only one with direct views to this famous square of Madrid.

Best known as the busiest place in Madrid. It is the center or kilometer zero of the radial network of Spanish roads. Originally, it was one of the gate in the city wall that surrounded Madrid in the 15th century. In the north side of the Post Office, there is a kilometer zero plaque mounted in the ground which serves as the symbolic center of Madrid.
