PUG CAFE - KYOTO, JAPAN - A RARE FIND + PUG PUPPIES ALERT!
Can you imagine drinking coffee while playing with pugs, lots of pugs? If you are a pet lover or more precisely a pug lover like ourselves, you cannot miss the Living Room Pug Cafe in Kyoto, Japan. Animal cafes are a hot trend in Japan but this place is a rarity - with only a handful in the world - an entire cafe full of pugs, puppies, pug souvenirs and pug loving humans. It needs to be added to anyone's Top Things to do in Kyoto!!! **WAIT 'TIL THE END FOR THE PUPPY SURPRISE***
The cafe has a busy ambience with all the little furry balls running around bringing joy to your visit. Don’t be afraid to get to their level, literally, you can play with them on the floor. With their persuasiveness and unique personalities, they will grab your hearts and your treats.
Enjoy the available choices of canned coffee, juices or teas, a few snacks for you and the pugs.
Affordable, however not so convenient to get to. As such, make sure your google maps app is working on your way there. **Check their calendar (link below) before coming since they are only open a few days a month.**

How to get there if you are coming from Kyoto downtown:
1) If you have the JR Pass use the Takaido-Sanyo Line then change to Hankyu-Kyoto Line.
2) With the regular train you may use the Hankyu-Kyoto Line.
Stop at the Katsura Station where you will then walk for about 20 minutes (lots of right and lefts and you need to cross a train line on the way.)
** Before entering the cafe, shoes are removed and sandals are provided. Hands are washed thoroughly and sanitized to avoid any contamination to the dogs.
** Pugs are very well treated by their family and cafe is extremely clean. Pee pads are removed every 30min or so.
** Puppies are only allowed in the room after second sanitization by all guests.

We went to a pug cafe in Kyoto!! Pugs are just the cutest dogs ever ❤️ Nicole had been wanting to visit this cafe even before we left for Japan and would check their calendar of opening hours every week. (Do check their website before planning a trip there as the hours are not regular!!!)

Part two of our Kyoto trip. Can't get enough of unagi. Highlight of my trip would be the pug cafe! All the pugs were so active and playful!
Definitely will revisit the 'pug cafe living room' if I ever go back to Kyoto.

Pug Cafe in Kyoto Japan
We have been on vacation in Korea and Japan and I haven't been able to do any fishing or canoeing, but we did enjoy visiting the Pug Cafe in Kyoto, Japan recently.
Pug Cafe in Kyoto Japan---Korean Dog Cafe way better
They rush you in and out. The pugs don't really want anything but food. They don't just want to play. Korean dog cafes are unlimited time and dogs will hang out without food given to them. This was disappointing, but nice to hold the puppy.
