Kudat is a town in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. It is located 190 kilometres (120 mi) north of Kota Kinabalu, the state capital, and is near the northernmost point of Borneo. It is the largest town in the heartland of the Rungus people which is a sub-ethnic group of the majority Kadazan-Dusun race and is therefore a major centre of Rungus culture. It is also notable for being one of the first parts of Sabah to be settled by Chinese Malaysians, particularly from the Hakka dialect group. In addition, Kudat serves as the administrative centre of the Kudat Division.

Day 4 - Couple Ride to Pak Bara 2019
Nobody likes change, but at times, change is good.
Pagi ni rasa stress sikit for 2 reasons:
1. Hubby Olak D' Hilir tukar basikal
2. Kena kejar ferry at Tamallang Port, Satun
We started our journey as early as 745am to ensure that we have ample time to reach Tammalang Port before 3pm. We stopped for breakfast at one of the stalls tepi jalan. Ada pelbagai jenis kuih, nasi, pulut and my favorite apom manis!! Best giler..! ???? Harituh pegi Penang tak dapat, syukur dapat kat Thailand. ????
Today kami ikut main road je.. Jalan 416 sebab nak cepat sampai. To make it worst, today's route is full of uphill and downhill (dragon back road) and hubby changed my bike with his.. ????♀️ Reason: To test my comfort level with the other bike.
In bicycle touring, the only way to test your comfort and stability on a bike is to cycle far. Normally more than 60km. So, according to hubby, this is the best time to test it. I find it ridiculous because today we have to catch the ferry at Tamallang Port, so I didn't want to take the risk. The Marine Four Corners only has one by chain ring with 38T, while the bike I'm using, OnOne Dee Dar has double chain ring with 38T, and 28T. There's a huge difference there. My bike helps me to climb uphill better.
But for some reason, the Marine Four Corners suits me very well! ???? No body ache, riding uphill was easy and I can pedal faster ????. Oleh itu, lessons learned, kena dengar cakap sifu.. ???????? Plus, tak susah pun nak tukar basikal.. Just change the saddle, setting ketinggian seat, and transfer the bags. I just watched.. Kikiki.. ????.
Kayuhan yang sangat smooth harini. Kurang stopover. In fact, either I ride in front or we ride side by side. Kami cuma stop lama untuk lunch di Satun. Kami dah standby enough 'bath' to spend on our last day in Thailand tapi lapar punya pasal.. Order makan sampai lupa!! ???????? Duit cukup ke ni? ???? Syukur cukup nak bayar makan tapi tak cukup untuk tambang ferry!! ????♀️????. Nasib baik ada 'RM' so kami kayuh cari money changer. Duit 'RM' pun ada cukup2 je untuk tambang ferry and some extras for tidbits.. Phewww!! ????
Kami sambung kayuh ke Tammalang Port. Alhamdulillah sampai at 130pm ahead of estimated time. Hubby said, 'If you can ride like this, we can ride anywhere in the world'. Wo.! That's a huge compliment and a great motivation for me to accomplish more. The last ferry to Langkawi is at 330pm. The ticket price is 350 bath per person and 100 bath per bicycle.
We reached the Kuah Jetty, Langkawi at 6pm. We checked in a small motel in Kuah, as the accommodation in Pantai Cenang is mostly full due to New Year's Eve. Dah banyak hari makan nasi, kami makan Mcd for dinner and contemplating whether to ride to Pantai Cenang or not ????. Sebabnya 21km 1 way and dah pukul 9pm. Thought of celebrating New Year in Pantai Cenang, but instead, we spent our quiet private time in our motel (sebenarnya dua2 pengsan awal kepenatan!! ???????????????? Lame!)
It's going to be a brand new year tomorrow.. Goodbye 2019. Hello 2020! May we all have many great adventures ahead. Happy 2020 peeps!! ????????????

Tun Mustapha Park Expedition 2012: Summarizing the Expedition towards Gazettement of TMP
From 6 to 26 September 2012, a team of scientists from Malaysia, the Netherlands and Australia will be on an expedition in the proposed Tun Mustapha Park, Kudat, Malaysia. The expedition is organized by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Naturalis Biodiversity Centre, Sabah Parks and WWF-Malaysia.
TMPE 2012 is a scientific survey to document marine biodiversity, physio-chemical oceanography and socio-economic benefits of marine ecosystems to local communities in the proposed Tun Mustapha Park. The research team spent 19 days surveying the proposed park area to meet the objectives. A total of more than 800 man-hours were spent under water, while corresponding amount of surface sampling effort was also carried out. The results will be published into a formal report and several scientific papers are expected soon.
TMPE 2012 was jointly organised by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Sabah Parks and WWF-Malaysia with collaboration from Universiti Malaya and the University of Queensland. We are grateful to the Economic Planning Unit, Sabah Biodiversity Council, Sabah Parks and the TMP Interim Steering Committee, and Department of Fisheries Sabah for assistance and permission to conduct this research. The expedition was jointly funded by Malaysian-CTI (MOSTI through the National Oceanography Directorate), USAID's Coral Triangle Support Partnership (through WWF-Malaysia) and WWF-Malaysia's individual supporters.

Sekali lagi GACS ke pulau banggi untuk melayani projek membina sebuah rumah kepada seorang penduduk yang memerlukan.
13 orang ahli GACS telah berjaya ke pulau banggi di bawah pimpinan pengerusi Elder Kantun Bangali dan pastor daerah Nium Gabu. Tuhan memberkati semua yang membantu dari segi dana dan tenaga. Tidak lupa Pastor muda Nataenil Sawanai & pastor muda Jetlin Jose kerana komitmen yg tinggi.
Rayuan agar ada kumpulan gereja atau AY dapat melayani di kawasan ini melalui aktiviti-aktiviti khidmat masyarakt atau belia( hiking/sukan bersama dengan belia kg)
Sokongan semua amat diperlukan utk pelayanan di pulau banggi(sila hubungi pastor Nataenil Sawanai)

Two Vietnamese Shot Near Sabah Sea Area
KOTA KINABALU - Police are investigating a shooting case at sea under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, according to Sabah Police Commissioner Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman in a statement on Wednesday.
In the 9.30am incident, two Vietnamese fishermen suffered gunshot wounds after suspected Filipino pirates in a speedboat allegedly opened fire on their vessel in Philippine waters, about 22 nautical miles east of Pulau Banggi, Kudat on Tuesday.
The victims known as Nguyen Nain Len, 47, and Huynh Thanh Tuan, 33, were injured in the underarm and knee respectively. They are reportedly in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.
The duo were among 10 fishermen on SK Fishing Enterprise, a fishing vessel owned by the Sabah-registered fishing company.
Jalaluddin added that, according to police investigations, four suspects on an unknown fishing boat and believed to be pirates neared the SK Fishing Enterprise and opened fire when its captain kicked the engine into life to flee from the scene.
