80th Oregon Junior Amateur

The 80th Oregon Junior Amateur was conducted June 28-July 2 on the Witch Hollow course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore. More than 210 junior golfers competed for the state's major golf crown in seven divisions and multiple flights within each division.

This year history was made when Monica Vaughn, fresh off her unheralded victory at the Oregon Amateur where she became the youngest winner ever it its 101-year history, also won the Girls crown at the Oregon Junior Amateur. She joins Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Famers Mary Budke and Carole Jo Kabler as the only individuals to ever hold simultaneous crowns in both championships.

This year also marked a new beginning for the championship as it was renamed the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur in recognition of nearly 50 years of dedicated service to developing Junior Golfers in the region.
